Nice watch, if I didn't already have 9 watches I would jump on this..

    • +4

No contest, but 15 here. Nothing outlandish in terms of price. Name your top 3 favourite watches, expensive or not. K go!

      Mine would have be:
      Xeric Halograph Automatic
      Eone Bradley Element Black
Casio remote control watch (had it since 1999)

The top two get a mention as I think they are one of the most unique looking watches. The third is sentimental.

        • @blitz: Those look nice. Wish i have the $$$ to buy the omega !!!! You're loaded dude. How long apart did you buy them ?

        • +1

          @tomleonhart:

I bought the Omega in Tokyo, second hand. It was a brilliant price and I just happened to be at the right place at the right time. It's the only one of the three that feels right and good to wear.

I bought the Graham in London. It was a 'planned impulse' and I don't own it anymore - it's a beautiful watch but it never wore right on my wrist. It just looked too gaudy and I felt a twit wearing it. I guess I just grew out of it.

The Calibre was a gift - a beautiful watch with a black deployant strap, but I never wear it now (mostly because it reminds me of the gifter).

        • @devpress:

          Glashutte Original Panomatic Lunar

With black leather strap, surely? :)

          @blitz:

          Alligator leather actually :)

Sorry to hear of the breakup?

        • +1

          @blitz:

Ha! I too had a watch as a gift that reminded me of the gifter. So I gave it back to them even though they said to keep it!

        • +1

@blitz: I'll take the Calibre for $10 to make you feel better. I'm only thinking of you.

      • 7 watches! Matter of interest, what's your favourite way to store/display? Been looking for a tidy solution that works.

      • +2

All my watches courtesy of StarBuy. Kudos to them, I'll never go anywhere else for my watch purchases. Friendly, efficient and excellently priced.
        1) Recently acquired (yesterday) - The Citizen Satellite Wave CC9025-51E. Looks damn sexy and is damn accurate too!
        2) Previous to that, got a Citizen GMT BJ7075-02E. Really like the leather on this one, plus the size.
        3) First Eco-Drive purchase - The Citizen Eco Drive BU4000-50E. Classic, simple, elegant. The best a man can get.

      • Where would one source a cheap/knockoff version of the Eone Bradley? The design intrigues me but the $400 price tag does not. I understand quality would go down as the price does too.

  • +5

dont know why I need one but bought! thanks OP

  • +1

Looks good for the price. Thanks OP

Any recommendations on a (cheap) watch box @Watchnerd ?

    • +2

I had this one bookmarked but don't own it, so can't comment on the quality, maybe do a search on eBay.
And obviously wait for a coupon code.

      • +2

C5OZ code works on that listing (min spend $30) for 5% off.

      • +1

We recently bought the 12-watch version for my wife and it is equal to the $199 boxes we viewed earlier at jewellery stores.

    • +1

I have this one in small and it's an absolute beast! Solid wood with a nice interior. This was a hit on WatchUSeek. Worth much more than the price delivered. Paid $72 delivered.

      • Added to watch list - no pun

  • +5

Bought one. Don't know why. Thanks OZB

  • Still waiting on my watch that I have purchased back in March. I don't know if I would trust GB.

    • I have bought over 10 items & they have all turned up after approx 2 weeks.
Maybe it's time to chase it up or lodge a Paypal dispute.

      • Lucky you. mine arrived after a month and a half :P At least it arrived!

Got this same watch and for the price you pay, it works!

    • I bought from GB twice but never received anything in last two years, just don't know what GB is doing and never buy from them.

      • +2

Yes, they were banned for a while but i suspect they might be getting up to speed now, though i still restrict myself to low-priced items.

I just pay by PayPal, keep track of what i buy via a spreadsheet, and if it doesn't arrive within a month i ask for a refund, and if there's a problem i just raise a refund dispute with PayPal which has worked every time where there is non-delivery.

The Naviforce 9044 isn't a bad price at $12.71 shipped
It's a homage to the Citizen Eco Drive AW1360-04E

    • +1

I have that one and it is a great little (although not actually at 44mm) watch. Swapped the strap pretty quickly but found a striped nato that matched it perfectly

      http://i66.tinypic.com/ay9kco.jpg

A bit like this except red instead of orange (I got the black version rather than brown)

      • Looks great on that strap, can you confirm the lug width please?
Decided to add it to the deal post.

      • Can you recommend a place to get decent watch bands like that. Have been stung before on quality.

        • +1

I bought from Ozstraps the last time they had a sale. All NATO straps though.

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/deals/ozstraps.com.au

        • +1

I've bought NATO straps from ebay and cheapestnatostraps.com and have been disappointed with the quality. The hardware in particular has made my watches look and feel cheap.

I got a Shiznit strap from ToxicNATOs and the quality is in a totally different league to what I've tried before. Shipping was quick and the guy who runs it seems like a good guy.

          https://www.toxicnatos.com/collections/watch-straps

I've also read good things about PhenomeNato straps, but they are SLOW. They estimate 20 days to ship an order but I've been waiting a month and mine hasn't shipped.

          http://phenomenato.com/

        • +2

ToxicNatos - N80s, super soft Toxic Butta N80s or Toxic ShizNit N80
Phenome Nato Straps - The best seatbelt straps available
Cincy Strap Works - Seatbelt or regular
https://www.watchgecko.com/ - seatbelt (not recommended), leather, nato
Blu Shark - Alpha Shark seatbelt, original nato

Trust me, there is a big different in fabric, stictching, laser cut holes and buckle hardware and keepers. Plus, compared to Aliexpress, they give accurate specs on width, length, weave etc. There are codes floating around often and great deals during US holidays or shopping events.

    • It's a homage

      Or "It's a tribute"

Can't we just be honest here "It's a cheap Chinese copy"?

      • +2

Nobody is denying these are China Cheapo's, but these brands have a pretty good reputation on Watchuseek considering what you pay. There are threads dedicated to this kind of stuff -

        Best of Aliexpress?
20 dollars or less, let's see them!

The word "homage" is used on watch forum websites to describe a watch that looks pretty much exactly like a more expensive model.

A copy is used to describe a watch that even has the same name (fake)

      • +1

both versions are probably made in china anyways

  • -5

    Lmao fake DWs

      • +7

Chicks go wild when they see me wearing one.

        • username checks out

    • +1

LOL what you'll realise is that DW is from the same factory in China but slapped on with a heavier price tag.

    • +1

      Lmao DWs fanbois.

    • +1

I didn't neg you, btw what is DW?

Pardon my limited watch knowledge, but to me this MEGIR looks like a bastard son of an Omega Speedmaster and IWC Portofino Chronograph.

      • +1

        DW is Daniel Wellington.

  • +3

Have no idea why I need this, but got it nevertheless. Looks like it'll be a decent daily driver. Thanks OP!

  • +1

Thanks OP - got one of each to feed my addiction to watches.

Don't forget Cashrewards also for an extra 2.4% off :-)

  • I have to buy a watch for my partner's birthday.

Does anyone know any website can buy good watch with good sales in Sydney or US ? (Original pls, no fake one)

    I google its :

    http://www.downunderwatches.com/ (AU)

    https://www.discountwatchstore.com/

Is there anyone who bought from these websites before ? Review plsss

    • +4

Starbuy has a good name on here. Past deals if you want to look through for reviews.
Amazon is in the US, so it just depends what you are after.

      • -3

Thanks but its like Groupon or Catchoftheday style

        • +3

No, Starbuy is nothing like them, check out past deal posts.

        • You can even pickup from their office at Pitt Street, Sydney. I have 3 times.

    • You'll find Starbuy's list of Citizen watches here.

You've just missed one of their sales, but if said partner is a bloke this seems well priced, especially if he'd prefer to blend into the jungle while on reconnaissance.

Having said that i do not seek to confine how folk choose to identify by gender.

And yes, i had to look up the spelling of reconnaissance, not to be confused with recognisance.

Stay well clear of Downunderwatches. They are not an Australian business, they are a front for an existing shitty, international watch store, Creationwatches.

I purchased a watch which was defective out of the box, they told me to send it to the manufacturer or take it to a watch repairer.

      • Good information.

      • I thought Creation Watches had a reasonably good reputation?

        What about Skywatches?

        • Anyone has purchased from gearbest ? I tried to buy a watch from there on early June and paid additional for fast shipping and its still hasn't been delivered yet. In tracking deliver it says it in Postal in australia. Anyone has any ideal ?

        • @castaway:

No, i haven't seen your stuff.

I'm still waiting on one item from 15/6. I'm still calm.

I'll probably give them 6-8 weeks, then ping them on PayPal.
My impression is gearbest isn't usually the fastest…

        • Thanks, but I paid express services and it says only few days, now 1 months and more already.

        • @castaway:

I was talking about me. Me me me.

Talking about you just for a brief moment, i'd say it's lost and you should seek a refund.

  • +1

I picked this up the last time it was on OzBargain and it's really well made and looks great. Highly recommended.

Edit: In fact I ended up buying two then swapping out one of the bands for this black, leather alligator band:

    https://ozstraps.com.au/collections/the-boston-collection/pr…

I mostly use the Nato band version for summer and the alligator band for winter.

    • Rare occasions when the band costs almost thrice the watch.

  • +1

Thanks OP. watchuseek has hours of fun… :)
Bought a couple of these for SWMBO - $15.71 - MEGIR 5006L Leather Band Women Quartz Watch

  • Got two, both had the same problem with the chronometer function in that they'd get stuck at non zero times when reset.
Tried doing that combination of buttons to fully reset but it would only temporarily fix it if at all.
Nice looking watch for the price but irritating when you look at the face and see the small dials completely wrong.

    • Same here, bought in a previous sale, hand lands slightly past zero when reset. Annoyed me so I gave it to my Dad.

      • +1

        Aren't you generous!

  • Can anyone attest to the waterproof ness of this watch? I have just been stung recently with watches saying they are waterproof and drowning at the first taste..

    • +2

      These aren't waterproof.

  • +2

Any suggestions of similar watches that have dials <40mm? I think I did see a similar Skmei but open to suggestions. Just a simple dress watch style will do.

In other watch news, I started my proper collection and am now the proud owner of a Seiko snk809 (skywatches) and Casio W800h (Amazon). Still intrigued by what the Chinese can pull off for the price though. Thanks to the wonderful ozb watch deal posters :)

Next on my list is a dressier Seiko auto that's less than 40mm. I'd get the bambino but I don't think they'd fit my wrist well.

    • +1

Congrats on the Seiko SNK, they are a must have for anyone with small wrists.

The Skmei 9083 is 40mm, scroll down through this search as there are a few sellers that have it for $9.50 shipped
Skmei 9083 blue or brown approx AU$9.30 shipped
It looks the same as the GUANQIN Watch which apparently has sapphire, but I find that hard to believe.

      Sinobi 9140 approx AU$9.01 shipped

      • +1

        You're the best, mate.

        • No probs, Sinobi have a store on Aliexpress
They aren't always the cheapest, but it's a good place to see their range of watches.

        • @WatchNerd: Really like the blue face on the 9083. Would you know if I would be able to attach a stainless steel bracelet to it and which one would you recommend.

        • @jdf: Sure you could, but I think they look better on a nato strap. A popular SS bracelet for this style is the mesh type.
Here are some photos to help you decide.

        • @WatchNerd: Thank you will give that a go.

    • +2

      @WatchNerd
      @jungleboy
      @ilikeit
      @PJC

      …I started my proper collection…

      Accumulating a collection myself.

Received two over the last week (including my first Automatic - a J.Springs from Creation Watches), and that Casio W800H-1AV - the alarm is a little weak, and brief, but it's easy to read and waterproof. I should have bought that vibrating one when i had the chance. I bought the ones in this deal as well to check them out - might end up giving them away. I've got a few Eco-Drives, a cheap TW Steel and a cute Q&Q. Oh, and a GShock from ages ago.

Hey WatchNerd (or anyone else for that matter, esp those i've listed), if you catch this and have the time can you suggest any useful tools for this stuff? Might be useful to others as well. I've got a band to adjust for a start (involves a little hammer by the looks of it), and i know there's tools for removing the caseback. I did see some cheap stuff on eBay, but perhaps you have suggestions. If not don't worry about it and i'll re-do that cruise on eBay for what seems the right tools.

Can someone tell me if that listing at the start actually ended up pinging you? - i can't tell as they're empty references (don't link to a comment)…

  • +2

Couldn't decide which one, so I got both.

  • -5

LOL. Are these the type watches you get when you can't afford the ones at the servo?

    • I can afford the ones at the servo and i bought this one, so in answer to your question: no.

    • -4

I stand corrected. You must either have poor taste in fashion or have no shame.

      • +1

You stand corrected: i have both poor taste in fashion and have no shame as i'm proud to be me.

      • +4

Why would he have no shame? do u judge people based on the fashion or the price tag of their watch they wear?

I have a megir watch and def have no shame wearing it out. If friends ask me I tell them exactly how much I paid for it too

  • How does this one compare to let's say a tag? Does price equal accuracy?

I'm looking for something to go with a Fitbit on my other wrist.

  • I want to like the Naviforce, but that minute hand is so damn short.

  • +1

    The Naviforce is sold out

    • +4

That watch has fake sub dials, they are for decoration only.

      • -2

all Chinese watches are for decoration only, but who cares

        • +2

The one in this deal post has working sub dials.

  • +1

Thanks OP, i was seriously tempted last time this deal was posted, and this is even better!

  • +3

Review - I bought this the last time. Not sure what I expected from a $10 chronograph, but after one use of the chronograph function the seconds dial hand always resets to about 3s rather than 0, and after a couple more uses it now resets to about 10s rather than 0. After than this, it seems to work though. And you could tell this from the diameter, but if you're a girl/have smaller wrists it looks rather ridiculous. Kudos that the chronograph even works at all for this price though, and I really appreciate the date & luminous hands.
