This well-regarded (8.7 on GameSpot) real time strategy game for the PC was released in 2006, and heralded as one of the few Star Wars titles which has lived up to the promise of the franchise.

It has a dual-layered design which requires you to think on both a strategic and a tactical level, large scale battles, two campaigns (Empire and Rebel) and the usual array of Star Wars characters in the authentic universe.

For US$5, I think it's a bargain.

    sorry for the blonde question but is this add on pack or is this a game ? i have never bought any star wars empire at war games off steam previously, if i get this do i need to buy something else to play this gold pack ?

      gold usually means everything in included. games, all expansions and all updates.

      It's the full game. Once you've bought it and signed up to Steam, it downloads and installs automatically via the Steam client, and you can play.

    just bought it but there is a disclaimer saying they are awaiting more licence keys from lucasarts and to be patient. just thought i would let people know before they neg the post.

      Yeah, I just saw that pop up too. Thanks for pointing this out. Hopefully it's just a temporary delay.

    Can confirm that the game will not run at the moment (due to the licensing issue). Not really sure why steam would sell a game on special when they don't have licenses for it, but am also hoping this is a temporary problem.

    Game is ok, but KOTOR deal was a bargain!
