  • Is this a Sim Only Plan?

    • Yes, need a student ID to show staff instore, 12 months plan.

some stores will offer this without the student ID to achieve the sale and hit their targets

        • +1

Not anymore… they are auditing all stores to confirm student eligibility was confirmed at connection (since launch of this offer)

  • Any deals with international calls included?

    • A friend of mine (also a student) was able to push them really hard on live chat and get offered $42.50 a month for 14gb data and 1300 mins of international calls (1000 to their super countries, 300 to selected countries). Really depends who you get!

      • +2

Well…if your friend is a student, and showed a student ID.. they would of gotten that deal for $40
The $50 SIMO GLOBAL 12 Months which has 14GB Data and 1300mins International calls is 20% off for Students.

the plan mentioned by OP is the DATA version (no Int Calls, extra data)

        • Wow he should call them up and complain then, he has a student ID and live chat told him the best they can do is $42.50! And that was only a couple of days ago

Its worth adding unlimited data for the first month:

Unlimited data for the first month to put our network through its paces. New connections only. T&C apply.

Couple of notes on current student offers

10% Discount (when showing Student ID) on any 24 Month SIMO or Handset Plan, $40 or Above
20% Discount (when showing Student ID) on any 12 Month SIMO or M2M SIMO Plan $40 or Above

    • The 20% discount on any $40 12 Month SIMO or above works in store too?

My cousin signed up on the $30 SIMO 12 month plan a couple of weeks ago (recontract over the phone with 4GB data) and is a student, do you think she could call up Vodafone and ask to be switched to a $40 SIMO with 20% off since she wasn't given the option or told about student benefits even though she first signed up with Vodafone as a student as well? Sorry for all the questions!

The current student promos are valid in store yes… not sure if you have already contracted and want to switch to take advantage of new offer, they usually do not apply them… but given its recent, i would at least call them.

        • A late question, if you are still monitoring - Do the discounts also apply to data only plans (12 months) or data plus modem plans (24 months)?

        • +1

          @oz-dave:

Student discounts apply to Voice Plans only
However if you are have a voda service, there are second service discounts on MBB Plans atm

        • @jimbobaus:

          Thanks for the reply jimboaus.

I have a couple of existing Vodafone phone services, so do I get anything beyond the 10% if I go for a modem + data plan for 24 months?

  • My experience with Vodafone is they keep offering huge data so the network gets more and more congested. My USB MBB is useless in the middle of Sydney.

  • Seems like a good deal.

For people interested in prepaid instead, don't forget about 14GB unlimited call and text for $26 per month when buying a year upfront

It's with Kogan, they use the Vodafone network so you should get the same service as with this deal.
