So $100 off minimum $1000/1000/2000 spend?

Meh. Flight Centre's hotel / ancillary pricing has always been higher in my experience. Why wouldn't you use the rolling 16% off from CheapTickets.com?

    • How does the rolling 16% work?

      • +1

They have different coupon codes every 1-2 week that gives 16-18% off.

        • Ok, thanks

You'd probably save MORE then $100 just by not booking with Flight Centre.

    • Exactly·

    • very true!

    • I wonder who's still going to flight center for their holiday or anything in this day and age.

    • -1

Too damn right! Stay away from this Flight Centre trap! Stop paying those Flight Centre bludging b*tches to defrawd customers that they are getting a bargain for cheap flights!

      • While in most cases I would agree, there are some instances where you can save by booking through them if you play it smart. They get discounts on their preferred accommodation in different countries, so if the hotel you want to book is one of their preferred options you may get it cheaper through them.

    • I have had them give the cheapest price once

      • Really. On what? They can NEVER be the best price on airfares. It is also not worth the hassle to save a dollar on the matching deal.

        • Hotel in Seoul. They had the equal cheapest price for a hotel in Hong Kong as well.

        • @8azinga:
That's really interesting seeing that they refuse to match dot com websites or prices not in AUD. Generally AU stores and websites are well behind what is around on the international market. Great that it worked out for you though.

  • +1

The only way this may be good is if you get flight centre to match $1000 worth of accomodation that you've researched is the cheapest and then apply the $100 off.

    • I doubt they'd pricematch hotel accommodation discounted with coupons…definitely worth an enquiry though.

      • I've had them price match hotel accommodation in the past in order to use a voucher.

      • They don't price match where a coupon is used. I tried a few months back and got denied. They would only match pre-coupon price.

        • You don't give them the voucher until after the price match…

        • @Tiggrrrrr:

I tried that. Sent them a screenshot of the accommodation and the price I was paying. No reference to a coupon.

They looked up where I quoted from and couldn't get the same price without a coupon. So they refused on that basis and were happy to lose the business to cheaptickets.com

        • @Enzalicious: Oh, in my case the coupon was on the booking websites homepage (and from memory auto applied at checkout).

Also I was in a bricks and mortar store, so maybe harder to dismiss than someone online / on the phone?

TBH I wouldn't use them again, just had a gift card to use up.

  • Will they price match cruises?

    • yes… they beat it by $1

  • +2

Feels like generic marketing vs anything substantial / real. Blackmores share price really could do with a dose of pick-me-up herbal tonic

  • Flight Centre also price match all online websites though for any packages and/or accommodation and flights.

    • No they won't. Has to be an AU website. I have heard of quibbles about matching Qantas because they run of a dot com domain.

  • CheapTickets promo code folks! Pretty much where I book all my accom now..

    • agreed…been using them for about 4 years now without a hitch.

      • I used to use Cheaptickets now I use the Orbitz app

        • because of price I assume? how much cheaper?

        • +1

          @Bullion78:
Yes even though their promo codes are 1% less than cheaptickets (15% compared to 16% off)it has always been cheaper for me when I factor in the extra 5% they give you back instantly in Orbucks. Gotta use the app though - only 3% back on desktop.

        • @jdogg: ill check out out..ta

  • Travel agents are dinosaurs/dodos. Just google key word like Flight Centre and Fair Trading for a hint of their dodgy practices

  • Does any one know if I could put this voucher together with a e gift card? If so I can get my cruise price beaten and get this $100 off then $100 off from Youi! Makes flight centre much more economical!
