I have a Oneplus 3T and Bluetooth is a huge issue with these to connect in you car at moment. It's also an issue on other nougat running androids at moment so if you require it in your vehicle choose something that isn't affected. Google it if your not sure.
I have tried several options like resetting and going back to old Rom but Bluetooth in 3 cars won't work

    • +2

When you say, won't work, what are you referring to?
I run a 3T using the stock ROM, and bluetooth works fine for me in my Ford, running Ford Sync v1 (one with a tiny colour screen). Only one issue, which has since been fixed in the open betas, is that I wasn't getting track meta data on stable, however it was a minor annoyance, which as mentioned has been fixed.

    • Have you tried to wipe partition cache? I have a Nexus 6P, had problem with bluetooth before, but since I did that, It has been working fine.

      • Ford Focus Titanium, Ford Territory and my XF Ghia that has Bluetooth stereo. All 3 best I could get was a scratchy sound when someone spoke. Most tines no Audio at all. Have tried several different roms. Tried Linage Rom. Tried cm13.. Ran the unbrick tool and got the Rom back to marchmello and still won't work

        • It was working initially up to an updates and then hasn't worked properly since. Tried wiping cache and every thing else. Completely wiped several times and still no go. Cm13 worked for the first call and then suffered the same issues

        • Try the open beta. That fixed any bluetooth issues I was having with my Ford Focus.
          http://downloads.oneplus.net/oneplus-3t/oneplus_3t_oxygenos_…

        • @DogGunn: I tried the beta 8 with no luck. I'll try the 9

        • @DogGunn: Ran the Update.
          Cleared Cache no Differnce.
          Still no Go On bluetooth..

        • @mutanti: Could you possibly have a defective unit? This doesn't sound normal. I'm assuming your other phones have previously worked fine with the car.

        • @DogGunn: Oneplus 1 Works perfect in all 3..

    • Same with pixel

Bluetooth works fine for me too.. No issues

so you like it deeps. I'm not too keen on this

    • +2

I've owned many many expensive phones, this is the best I've had. Hands down. Brilliant phone

      • -3

what about iPhones? they are the best imo

        • They are more than double the price. Pixel is better than iPhone anyway

        • Had an iPhone6, this is better. Camera is the only weak point

        • -6

@deeps: security update frequency would also suck though. iPhones are always good in that department

        • @supnigs super skids: Having used OnePlus 3 for five months, I am unable to agree with your comment on update frequency. I often received updates once in two weeks and security updates once a month shortly after Google phones receiving them. By far the best phone I've used in terms of software updates. I've never used iphone so I don't know whether they issue once a week updates but I can guarantee you, Oneplus team is the best in Android world when it comes to software support. They try to fix smallest issue/ complain they receive and their forum is very active too. I've never seen any other manufacturers (including big players like samsung) maintaining such an active forum addressing customer issues.

        • +1

@supnigs super skids: clearly knows nothing about this phone or Android

        • @OnlinePred: I know that android manufacturers are quick to drop support when their new model comes out.

        • @npnp: best in the Android world… I thought they scrapped Nougat for the OnePlus 3?

          Edit: ignore me, got confused.

        • @supnigs super skids: like who? Name them? And what support? OS updates or security updates?

Like i said you are just trolling, and really poorly

        • @OnlinePred: which part of "security updates" did you not understand?

        • @supnigs super skids: my note 4 got security updates for 2.5 years. Google pixel will for 3 years. Los will indefinitely. So not sure what you are on about. Ios had the same or less.

        • @OnlinePred: iPhone 5 from 2012 still got updated last month. 5s is still going. carrier customisations/approvals affect Android updates but not iOS. you also don't know what you are talking about. so how do you like them apples?

        • @supnigs super skids: I like them a lot. Although i prefer the pixel. Also my 5s on ios10 is slow and buggy as all hell. So updates like that aren't always good.

        • @OnlinePred: uh I guess you didn't get it. 😂 no fun..

OnePlus 5 being announced tomorrow, FYI anyone holding out.

    • announced wed morning. I gonna see what its like but if it only has 3300mah batt and over $650 then i might look elsewhere.

      • +1

tbh, that battery should be enough to compete with flagships from other brands because of the power efficiency of the SD835, and the near stock Android rom, so it shouldn't be too bad.

    • Should be price drops on 3T.

    • I am. Expecting it to only be a little more than they 3t but with better CPU and camera with a slimmer design. If not I will go 3t.

      • I think the 3T is more bang for buck.

  • Bluetooth tethers ok. But then when making or receiving a call I get no Audio via the cars audio

  • +2

That's a good price for this phone which has pretty good specs and will be getting Android O when it comes out. I bought one of these in February ($600) and find it excellent, no problems with Bluetooth in my car.

Here is a recent review on why you should still consider buying this phone.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aHEdCqWrQa8&feature=youtu.be

    • It's a steal for AU$400, which is what it used to cost and LTE wasn't as prevalent.
At $600 its "good", and at the usual $750 (grey importers) its hard to recommend.

Especially with the lack of 700MHz LTE (Band 28) which we desperately rely on.

  • For people who have this phone, what is the camera like? I have a Samsung s4 and am wondering if it would be better (or at least equivalent)…

    • +2

this phone has a camera that is on par with the s7, mkbhd did a youtube camera comparison about 2 months ago

      • +2

I believe it was better than the S8 in the blind test. I rated the 3T second, only behind the Pixel, which came in first for me. Here's the video: https://youtu.be/DtmGMcMeEJE

        • +1

yep, although in low light the 3t is much worse than pixel xl as shown by android centrals comparison between the 2

        • +1

@nathan-drake: They've upgraded the camera performance in low light conditions, but I have no idea whether that is before or after that video was made.

  • Doesn't look like it has Band 28.

    • It doesn't. You can get 4g on 1,3,7 which are supported. If you get this phone, you should go with Optus/Telstra because they support these bands. I get 4g about 3/4 the time in Sydney.

      Source: own Oneplus 3T.

      • I own a pixel and don't remember the last time I wasn't on 4g. I don't think I would want to drop to 3g 25% of the time

  • -1

Bought a one plus 1 from them, phone was fake dead after ota update, their customer service was too slow, it takes them 2 months to confirm the phone is not reparable and agree to send a replacement phone, and replacement is a shitty LG G3, it also dead after 3 months.

I would avoid them, but their price is cheap though if u don mind the hassle.

    • Agree , their cs really sucks

      • Dont know why the neg, they are that afraid of been seen or what.

  • And yes it takes beautiful photos. My only complaint is my Bluetooth issues. Otherwise a perfect phone for its price range. I still also have a Oneplus one and it's never let me down
