It's an AIO for general purpose use. Will be faster than an Atom-based Pentium N3710 (this Pentium 4405U is based on Skylake architecture)

Pretty good for what you pay actually, and plenty of (kind of slow) storage. Drive is very slow (5400RPM) and could use an upgrade to SSD

Obviously, building your own rig using individual store bought components gets you better / faster / more upgradable machine.

Core specs

2.1ghz Intel Pentium processor (Skylake generation type, dual core 4 threads Hyperthreaded)
4GB of DDR4 memory (can do 8Gb maximum RAM)
1TB spinning rust
23.8 inch Full HD display TFT

Gigabit ethernet, Wifi AC

Total Number of USB Ports: 4
Number of USB 2.0 Ports: 2
Number of USB 3.0 Ports: 2
Network (RJ-45): Yes
Audio Line In: Yes
Audio Line Out: Yes
Card reader

includes KB and Mouse.

Processor isn't that much of a slouch. Here's the geekbench comparison between this and a first gen Surface Pro running a Core i5 1.7ghz

Not bad seeing as you get a screen + Kb/M and a computer for under $500

    • I would normally think this is a great price for an AIO except when it came to this part:

      Pentium® 4405U
      Socket BGA

There will be a time that dual core 2.1 isnt going to cut it and even with 8Gb and SSD it'll be too painful to use. Then you're left with a 24" screen that's too slow.

I'd be all for it if you could upgrade the cpu.

And if you thought only iMacs were difficult to get into…

  • This is actually a mobile cpu that is used in laptops. It's not the usual high powered cpus used in most desktops. This one is low powered to help conserve battery life and is chucked into a AIO
