how much is it per cloth? - woops wrong thread

  • +1

Limit of 1 voucher per person

Has anyone tried to buy again under the same account? It lets you add to cart?

    • Use a different account

      • +1

I did. If you use the same account you get "There was a problem submitting your order. You have exceeded the purchase limit for this deal."

        • +1

          Different account/email will work.

  • +1

    Combined with Cashrewards?

    • +1

      Nah dawg.

"Cashback is currently NOT payable on ANY Gift Cards, eGift Cards or Value Vouchers purchased through Groupon."

      • +1

        Always been like that

  • +2

can we use it for fuel purchase at Caltex Woolworths?

    • -1

      Yes

      • +1

        great

        • +1

No you can't. I've tried using starcash at a Woolies caltex before and they were very explicit about the fact they didn't accept it.

    • Careful, some servos don't accept egift cards

    • +1

pretty sure they wont accept it. its only for caltex owned ones.

  • Got the cash/card! Not bad!

  • +9

No idea where I would use it but just bought one

    • You don't drive?

      • +4

        No caltex nearby

  • Wonder if there will be a 10% off soon?

    • Probably will be excluded

  • +12

WHen you use this, note that you need to download an app first to read the code. Download it before you go into the store or you will be like me, standing there awkwardly installing an app to use the code. :(

    • +2

Print out the QR code, just like paper cash!

      • Print wtf…

        • +12

A LOT of people still use paper and cash these days. :)

Especially when paying for and buying Sydney property. ;)

        • @Turd: Hope you don't pay for property with cash. At the very least use a Credit Card and earn your points - maybe you'll get 2 million points for a $1mill house with the Explorer huh?

        • @illumination: ;) Too bad RBA have caps, must use amex, but then a 3% fee inforced by the REA. Dammit!

        • @Turd: cash wrapped in brown paper if you're a politician

        • wtf didn't I think of this!
Suppose it was because my credit card has a 20k limit

Damnit I paid 550k for a property recently too!
That could have got me a few flights :(

        • @letmethefuqin:

Apply for credit limit increase! You might get it ;)

    • That's the catch for this offer

    • +2

If you use iPhone, just add it to Wallet

      • +5

Aah ! Finally. I can use that damn Wallet app

      • If you buy multiple using a few accounts, you can still add them to the same iPhone wallet :)

    • What app..? can't find it.

    • Any barcode or QR code card reader app will be able to open it though. e.g. Stocard. I am surprised why it wouldn't just give a pdf or jpg that can be opened anywhere with minimal effort.

  • I remember reading not all Caltex accept WOW GCs. Does this deal have similar constraints?

    • +1

Must be starmart, so it's the OTHER caltex that are NOT owned by Woolies where it will work

      • +17

only 5 in Perth will accept the digital gift card. Go to https://www.caltex.com.au/find-a-caltex and click on the filter for "Starcash digital accepted"

        • Heaps in Sydney

        • +7

The result is max on 5 results. Change to other suburbs and you'll see another 5.

We're showing you the nearest 5 sites matching your filters. Show all

        • The specific station I'm closest to says "WOW Gift Card (eGift cards not redeemable at some locations)" ":?

  • Thx

  • +1

Thanks OP, just in time for fill up day.

  • After paying how long will Groupon take to issue the digital GC?

    • +1

Got mine in less than 5 minutes.

      • +1

Thanks was just about to edit my post, it just arrived.
        Thanks OP.

    • +1

      ~10seconds.

Then go http://host.groupon.com.au/caltex/ enter security code on the groupon voucher pdf and BOB is your mum!

      • +1

What did my mum ever do to you, you bloody Turd.

      • Lolita ?

    • +1

Just go to "My Groupons" straight away and it shows up near insantly. Press."View Voucher".

  • +2

Thanks OP. First time i logged into Group since 2014, last time was also for caltex voucher.

  • +3

Wonder how much Easternculture made off refers thus time…

    • 4500 + clicks. Considering 10% conversion, he has saved at least $2000 to fellow OZB members.
Yeah, 10% of that would make 200 for EC :)

  • +1

How do I use this in the store?
Normally with egiftcard I say egiftcard and enter my number/pin.
    How does this work?
Do they scan the QR code?

    • Yes

      • Thanks.
Don't have an iOS phone so I use took a photo of it with stocard app on android, also printed it out as some scanners sometimes have difficulty with some phone screens.

        • If you have Stocard, why do you need to save a photo of it or print it? Just open Stocard and scan it! It works.

        • @virhlpool: because 'some' scanners in 'some' shops are different and don't like it…:(

        • @techboy: Fair enough.

  • +2

Can you combine with WW fuel voucher?

  • The 'Redeem your Caltex Voucher' is not a secure site. Can a third party steal redeemed codes.
    https://host.groupon.com.au/caltex/ doesn't work.

    • HTTPS is secured

    • I can get to https://host.groupon.com.au/caltex/

However when I enter my 'security code' I get - "The security code provided is invalid for redemption."

      Anyone else get this?

      • My https got "This site can’t be reached."

        • try without https, just http works, its not like you are submitting credit card details.

issue still remains though, even if you can get to the website, the bloody code doesnt work!

  • +2

    https://altituderewards.com.au/public/redeem_product.aspx?de…

Note: e-Gift cards can only be used on Caltex owned and operated service stations. At this time they are not accepted at Woolworths or Ampol service stations. List of supported stores can be found by clicking here. To search for nearest participating station go to https://www.caltex.com.au/find-a-caltex and tick StarCash Digital.

Not many outlets accept the digital ones.

    • +2

821 stores (41%) accept them. Not sure I'd call it not many. Really comes down to where you live.

  • Anyone know how to use this? When I scanned it at Caltex the terminal is asking for a pin.

    • The attendant couldn't help?

      • The attendant didn't have a clue how to operate it.

        • +1

just press enter, dont type a pin

        • @Turd:

Did that as well. Didn't work.

        • +1

@nightelves: Ah wait 24 hours to activate?

    • Same problem.

    • I think no PIN.Starcash physical card has no PIN,either.

    • +3

Press enter! No need to press a pin. I have a starcard physical one and it always asks for pin, I just press enter and it works.
When I bought the card in the first place the attendant asked me if I wanted to set a pin, I said no and just pressed enter.

So yeah with these ones if it asks pin just press enter!

      • +1

Pressed enter without a PIN and says something like not valid or declined.

        • Might take 24 hours for it to activate?

        • @Turd:

Well the conditions say 24 hours for remaining balance to update. Didn't take it would take 24 hours to activate. So not sure.

        • +1

I think you need to mention the partial amount which is $20 to the cashier.Otherwise, any amount above that will be declined.

        • @Neoika:

I bought exactly $20 of fuel.

        • @nicole11:

Yup. I see other people are having the same problem.

    • Same issue and was declined.guy said to wait to the morning .probably too many cards to activate.

      • Hardly a reason to neg the deal.

  • I am getting this error

There was a problem submitting your order. You have exceeded the purchase limit for this deal.

    Any advise?

    • Use a different account (different email address required)

  • That's because you try to buy more than one under the same account

    • No, quantity is 1, and buying for the first time.

  • +1

Tonight, I purchased my voucher from Groupon online and received an email confirming the purchase.

I then loaded the groupon app on my phone and logged in using Facebook. I could see the voucher I purchased in the app. I selected the voucher and up came a QR code. I then went to Caltex Kilsyth (cnr Gatwick road) and filled up. When the operator scanned the code it came up as invalid.

Do I need to activate the voucher in some way before using it?

    cheers Peter
