    cool pic

    • haha thanks.. accidentally uploaded wrong pic.

    • Was the pic something to do with your name? :)

      • futurama dress ups

  • I tried this yesterday. It is pretty accurate and fun. I tried the bug swatting game (cant remember the actual name). The games for this are also reduced in price as well.

  • Cool~ Is this the cheapest price out there right now? Do you guys reckon I should get this right now?

  • Dammit! I bought two starter kits at $79 each HAHA.

  • I am keen on getting one but thinking maybe some better deals coming upto Christmas, maybe bundle with a game

  • +1

I wasn't even going to bother with the Playstation Move, but I might get this pack - the camera alone is usually $60 RRP and the controller $60 RRP as well, and no idea how much longer they will offer the pack.

  • Hmm tempting.. this and a game for $122 is great

  • I went to Harvey Norman in Adelaide City today and it was still $99 or somehting ridiculous. Ended up going to JB HiFi which had it at $79 plus the usb cable for charging.

    • Most stores haven't had tim to put up signs saying the price. I work at HN and I had to ask the boss and he said it was. It's a great rice, you might just need to grab a salesman and personally as a salesman I'm happy to help 'cause it makes my day go faster even if you don't make me any commision

      • Which HN store do u work as I can't find any HN in Adelaide willing to sell the kit for $79.00?

  • Is move worth it ?

    • That's for you to decide. Personally I would wait and try it out at a friends place.

  • probably best to change the title to harvey norman NSW, unless someone else can confirm its in other states

was going to + 1, until I read the stores on the back of the catalogue (probably why its $99 in adelaide)

    • Hey,
The same promo was advertised for $74 in the Adelaide advertiser newspaper on 16/09/10. All Adelaide stores were listed in the promo. Also, all Harvey Norman promotions are generally national unless it is a store opening.

      • yeah I think this promo will come up in their next catlouge which comes out monday on website.

My plan is to take to EB to match as I got some EB credits to use up

  • I bought it at JB for $79 :( It's very accurate i was surprised cos im used to the wii's poorer performance. The games out at the moment are all pretty bad though excluding the sports one but even that would have a short lifespan.

  • +1

im waiting for time crisis to come out - maybe i should buy this kit now though..

    • +2

damn gran turismo 5 and time crisis are gonna send me broke

    • that's what I've done..,and absolutely can't wait for time crisis.

took a punt that it'd be a bit like PlayTV pricing (started off at $110 on special, now most places are selling it for ~$169) with introductory offers and what-not.

then again, i'm sure a lot of ppl will find the Move fairly underwhelming so might be able to pick some of it up 2ndhand.

btw…played the demo for The Shoot, found that pretty fun.

    • dupe post

  • You will need to fork out another $49 or so on a decent game because the demo games that come with the starter kit are very limit. It may be better to wait for a bundle that includes a game or two before Christmas.

Some games also require either an additional navigation or motion controller ($60 each). Unless you already owned the PS3 console, it's very expensive When you add all these up compared to the Wii.

    • damn. already own a wii too :/

    • Do your homework.

You don't need a nav, you can use a DS3 instead.

Oh and the Wii is really a kids toy, you can't compare these. I own a Wii by the way.

      • Yeah, okay try this for your homework:

        1. Hold a DS3 gamepad in one of your hands
        2. Hold a Move controller in your other hand
        3. Now go look in the mirror

Still think the DS3 gamepad makes a good substitute for one of these sleek (one-hand operated wireless) Navigation controllers?
        http://us.playstation.com/ps3/accessories/scph-98061.html

Granted, Wii is not for the hardcore gamers but neither is it just for kids.
In fact, its customer base consists of a larger percentage of adult leisure gamers and fitness enthusiasts.

        • Yeah Wii, it's for my 3 year old. We bought it for the family but decided it's a kids toy, enjoy your one though. Also yeah I own 2 nav controllers and can honestly say that it doesn't make a bit of difference to how you look in the mirror. I mean, if you didn't want to look silly in the mirror you probably wouldn't be waving that glowing wand around now would you?

Back to your homework for you. I suggest you spend less time in front of the mirror.

Looks like a fancy vibrator that's powered by a mystical ball of energy.

And a camera to broadcast your spectacle to the world.

I'm looking forward to using this on heavy rain, resident evil 5 and the time crisis bundle to be released, hopefully Qv in Vic will have this sun or Monday

    • Haven't tried HR yet, not sure if the patch is live yet but I've ordered RE5 Gold Move edition and a gun attachment, it's gonna rock.

      • some of the controller movements are a pain in the arse, ive hit my head a few times, although i shouldnt play on my bed lol, i forgot about the gun attachment too:(

        • they said it "looks like a fancy vibrator", not that it actually is one …

  • JB HiFi also have the starter kit for $74 too!

    • Yea I got mine at JB yesterday, seems the price is dropping everywhere.

      • Stickered with $79 up here still…

  • I pre-ordered mine and it came on 16th morning. from game 89$…sad with this cheap price :'(

The starter pack is a good price, but the games are a bit expensive. ALl those games you can pick up for $40 at most stores

  • Sorry but the only game I have seen around the $40 mark is racket sports which is apparently abysmal

All others are around $50 (all $47 this week in BigW)

Although most ppl know, you should really state that the games arent Australian release games, especially when it's a thread about australian stores

      • ozgameshop is 365games.co.uk's australia portal with free shipping

        • +1

but they're still UK released games which means they're not valid for trad-ins in OZ.

          • -2

            @Trance N Dance:

            1. not online games so does not matter
            2. I have sold over the years heaps of games I have purchased online in-store. Do you really think people who work in retail bother to check or have the I.Q.
            3. Developers are fighting the trade-in market, trade-ins will be a thing of a past. Trading in games is in fact a breach of the copyright laws stated on the box.
  • yeah fairynuff but like I_M said that is from UK and takes week or so to get here

personally I buy from UK all the time but to save AU$5? nah, I'd rather get it here and help out the local stores

and yeah, we all know what Ozgameshop is, it's 365games without the currency exchange but it's still normally works out a little more than 365games and still gets sent from the UK. I'd prefer that they stockpiled some games over here thus ensured quicker delivery, it'd be worth the extra couple of bucks

  • OT but where's the cheapest place in Oz to pick up a PS3?

JB has a $599 deal for 320gb + red dead redemption + Move starter. Or 320gb with red dead, uncharted 2 and gt5 prologue for $599.

    • That deal is hard to beat. Grab it with red dead or uncharted 2

  • jb selling starter pack and sports champion game for $99 in sydney.
    Receipt: http://www.ecogamer.com.au/images/stories/content10/20100924…

Anybody know if jb stores will price match interstate jb stores?

    • Thanks for that!
I brought a copy of that reciept into JB Hifi in Werribee, Victoria and they gave me the same price.

      • jb at macquarie said the special was over and didnt give it to me. :(

        • Same here. Any1 know any shop in Adelaide selling the kit for about $79?

          • @JC007: could've sworn JB at colonades had it for $79 everywhere else was $99
