ANZ Rewards Black Credit Card - 75000 Bonus Points (Worth $337) + up to 2 Points Per $1 Spend - Free for First Year

310

I have just signed up for this after doing a lot of research.

75000 bonus points is worth $337 in Woolworths GIFT CARDS (22,225 pts per $100).

  • 75,000 REWARDS POINTD when you spend $2,500 on eligible purchases in the first 3 months. (Must not have held an ANZ card in the previous 12 months). ** Not available in conjunction with other offers, packages or promotions, or when transferring from an existing ANZ credit card or where you currently hold or have closed an ANZ Rewards, ANZ Rewards Platinum or ANZ Rewards Black credit card within the previous twelve months.**
  • Free for First Year (normally $375/pa + $55/pa for additional card holders).

To apply for an ANZ Rewards Black credit card, you need to
Be 18 years of age or over
Have a good credit rating
Be a permanent Australian resident, earning a minimum annual income of $75,000
Be a non-Australian permanent resident with more than 9 months remaining on your Visa, earning a minimum annual income of $75,000

REWARDS POINTS:

  • 2 Reward Points per $1 spent on eligible purchases up to and including $5,000 per statement period, then
  • 1 Reward Points per $1 spent on eligible purchases above $5,000 per statement period
  • Until 5 August 2017 receive 2 Reward Points per $1 spent on eligible purchases uncapped.

SCENARIO - If you spend $5000/m on eligible purchases then you would earn 120,000 in REWARDS POINTS (this is worth approx $540 in Woolworths Gift Cards).

if you aren't aiming for the STATUS CREDITS or the QANTAS Lounge Passes that come with the "ANZ Frequent Flyer Black" then this is the card for you.

I suggest you cancel the card just before your 12 months is up unless you are happy to pay the Annual Fee.

I would be very careful signing up to these offers as the last one I did apparently it wasn't for the public. I wouldn't waste time, according to then campaigns an a com isn't an Australian ANZ domain…

  • Sorry, what does this mean "Must not have held a card for 12 months"?

    • clarifying - "Must not have held an ANZ card in the previous 12 months". but always best to check the ts and cs before signing up.

  • Isnt this deal going on for a long time, as I just signed for one in last week with the bonus points. Correct me if I am wrong.

    • yes. but I could not find a DEAL listed on ozbargain

  • Where are you getting the 120k bonus from? I can't seem to see it. So you're saying this card has the potential to earn you 195k points?

    • $5k spend per month x 2pts per $ x 12 months

    • +4

they are not BONUS POINTS. They are EARN POINTS from your CC spend).

  • +4

depends on what you do with the points, and how many you earn. I don't use mine for flights.

when it comes to REWARD EARN RATE vs rewards required to cash out your points then I have worked out the ANZ REWARDS BLACK is better value.

AND REWARDS BLACK = ANZ REWARDS SHOP = $100 woolworths Gift Card = 22,225 points = $11,112 spend (based on 2pts/$).
ANZ FF BLACK = Qantas FF Shop = $100 woolworths Gift Card = 19,650 points = $19,650 spend (based on 1pt/$).

I wanted Velocity points so found this card better.

    • Better off with the Frequent Flyer version

      +1

Can get nearly $40 more Woolworths vouchers ($375) from the Qantas store, plus you get two Qantas Club lounge passes too.

  • Lol all the caps makes it seem like this OP shouts a lot!

    • Be thankful you are not married to me.
I have no idea how to Format otherwise you would see everything in Quotes, Bolded, Underlined, Italic'd ,coloured and highlighted. Then it would look like a Nigerian scam.

      • ARE you SINGEL ?

        • And Russian, and being chased by my ex boyfriend who is angry that I have given up my modelling career in Milan and left him because I just want to find a nice man who is happy to have a wife that will take care of him. If only I could find one. Oh yeah- my mother is sick and dying and I need to some cash to pay the fee which will allow me to redraw my 3.5m siting in an overseas account so I can fund her funeral and move to Australia

Might want to revise the "Must not have held an ANZ card in the previous 12 months" bit, to just "Must not have held an ANZ Rewards card in the previous 12 months". I've recently closed an ANZ Black FF card, and I'm still eligible for this Rewards card based on the T&C and my quick chat that popped up on the offer page:

Nadia at 12:18, Jun 24: Hello, how may I assist you?
You at 12:19, Jun 24: Hi there, I'm looking at your offer for the ANZ Rewards Black credit card with 75,000 bonus reward points
You at 12:19, Jun 24: I'm not sure if I'm eligible though, as I've had an ANZ Black Frequent Flyer card in the past 12 months
Nadia at 12:20, Jun 24: in that case you will not be eligible
Nadia at 12:20, Jun 24: as you have had FF cards with ANZ in the last 12 months
Nadia at 12:20, Jun 24: unfortunately
You at 12:21, Jun 24: The T&Cs only state mustn't have had a rewards card in last 12 months though
You at 12:21, Jun 24: "Not available in conjunction with other offers, packages or promotions, or when transferring from an existing ANZ credit card or where you currently hold or have closed an ANZ Rewards, ANZ Rewards Platinum or ANZ Rewards Black credit card within the previous twelve months. "
    You at 12:21, Jun 24: https://www.anz.com.au/personal/credit-cards/rewards/black/
Nadia at 12:21, Jun 24: yes
Nadia at 12:21, Jun 24: i have read that
You at 12:21, Jun 24: that's why I was unsure if I'm still eligible
Nadia at 12:21, Jun 24: because you have had an ANZ FF black card - you will not be eligible
Nadia at 12:22, Jun 24: sorry
Nadia at 12:22, Jun 24: i completly misread this
    Nadia at 12:22, Jun 24: yes !
You at 12:22, Jun 24: thank you. is that in writing anywhere?
Nadia at 12:22, Jun 24: you will be eligible , because you have NOT had any rewards cards in the last 12 months
Nadia at 12:23, Jun 24: you did have a FF card - it is just means you will not be eligible for another FF card bonus points however you WILL be eligible for the rewards . as it si a different type of card
You at 12:23, Jun 24: ah great, thank you for confirming that I will be eligible after all
    Nadia at 12:23, Jun 24: no worries & I'm sorry about the3 confusion :)
You at 12:24, Jun 24: Have a nice day
Nadia at 12:24, Jun 24: you too
Nadia at 12:24, Jun 24: bye

(sorry for the WALL of text!)

    • Good work.
      Ts & Cs
75,000K bonus points: Offer available to new and approved applicants who apply for an ANZ Rewards Black credit card account. This is a limited time only offer which may be withdrawn or changed at any time without notice. Not available in conjunction with other offers, packages or promotions, or when transferring from an existing ANZ credit card or where you currently hold or have closed an ANZ Rewards, ANZ Rewards Platinum or ANZ Rewards Black credit card within the previous twelve months. This offer applies only once per eligible customer. Your application must be approved and you must activate the card and make $2,500 worth of eligible purchases within three months of approval to receive the bonus Reward Points.

      • Wait, does that mean if I held this exact card previously with the same 75k QFF points bonus (thanks OzB back in 2014) and cancelled (back in 2015), I'm still eligible for the 75,000 bonus points now that it's 2017?

        • +1

I would assume so. But please note that there are different cards. ANZ REWARDS BLACK and ANZ FREQUENT FLYER BLACK are two different cards with two different rewards schemes.

        • @ggqroozn:

Thanks for that. I realised I missed the subtlety of it all.

  • OP forgot to mention this card will allow you unlimited access to Veloce lounges all over the world. This is the main reason I got this card.

    • There are many benefits including insurances and price protection too. I already had the Citibank signature rewards… but think I will use this now.

      • +1

Citi's new QFF earn rate is horrible mediocre though. Was my default card until 15 June 2017.

  • +1

Moving from my Citi. Thanks OP

    • Same here x 2

  • Did the T&C's always say "This offer applies only once per eligible customer" in the 1st dot point?
I closed my Rewards credit card a few months ago, hoping to serve the "12 months waiting period" before applying again for signup bonus points again!

    • Hi wutang01,
Did you end up applying and have you got the bonus points?
I've been watching this card (as I had it before, like you).
From memory that "once per eligible customer" sentence wasn't in the T&C.
I hope someone can correct me.

  • This can fill the gap while I'm serving my 12 months waiting on ANZ FF Black

    • Same, just got my QF passes, so will cancel next statement. Best thing about the rewards card is 2 reward pts per dollar, which converts to 1VFF point per $ spent…not bad (as good as best) for visa spend.

    • +1

Can you please confirm if previous ANZ FF Black ex-holder still eligible for the 75K bonus points. Thanks

      • I couldn't confirm, but from few posts above and also from t&c, previous FF black holder still eligible.

      • I phoned them today. Yes, eligible!

        • Still waiting for bonus points 😞

  • Should convert to 43k Velocity points at bonus time in November. Given how few chunky Velocity sing ups are out there, It's a great deal. Better than the Velocity ANZ deal.

    • And how much would those points be worth in $?

      • Depends on what you do with them.

Pretty sure you can convert to gift vouchers straight from ANZ points, so you obviously wouldn't do that after converting to Velocity points.

A rule of thumb is 1c per point. Given 43k points will get you return from the east coast to Perth, with enough left over for a one way trip Melbourne to Sydney, $430 is a pretty fair price to put on it.

  • SO, just to clarify, say i sign up for ANZ Frequent Flyer Black: https://applyonline.anz.com/dsr-cc/creditcards/apply?apptype…, I can still sign up for this ANZ Rewards Black and get the different bonus points for this card?

  • 10,000 Reward Points if you spend $50,000 on qualifying purchases in the first year

    • "Bonus rewards" - yes

  • Does anyone know how long it takes to receive the points?

    • Important Information

      1. … The bonus Reward Points will be credited to your ANZ account within two months of the eligible spend criteria being met
      • Which often will mean you'll have them within a month or less.

  • +1

Called them to cancel my card. Offered my 5k goodwill points. Another $20 woolies gift card for me!

  • Got my 75k bonus points last week

    • Me too. Now begins the wait for the Velocity points bonus promo.
