Heading off to the snow fields on Friday so was looking at picking up an action camera.
There seems to be 2 great deals at the moment.

Which one did I choose? Really tough choice. The Sony is better priced, good image quality, better stabilisation and almost double the battery life. The Nikon was competing with the Hero 5 but at this price it's a steal. Amazing image quality, better build quality, includes remote and mounts unlike sony.
I went to JBHIFI to buy the Sony they said they had 3 in stock but couldn't find any (Homebush store), then I bought the keymission online and tried to pick it up from Bing Lee but they said they have to wait until the order comes through online which can take 5 business days which means I might have to cancel.

I'm looking too; although not in such a hurry as you. My pick is the sony fdr-x3000r (this is the 4k camera WITH live view remote).
My 2nd choice, if I really had to, would be the hero 5. The image stabilisatioin on the sony is way ahead of the hero 5.
My 3rd choice would be the hero5 session.
For my first choice, I have seen deals as low as $604. No such deal now; at the time I was still researching. I'd also want a lens protector, hand grip / tripod, sd cards, stand alone charger and spare battery - costs add up.
