Nope, that only mentions the keyboard in the title.

      • +35

you gotta admit, this one has a lot of effort in the table and everything

        • Of course this one is better with that as well.

And to the people who negged me, I suggest you brush up on the posting guidelines

The original deal is a list of multiple items and the item is not contained in the title of the original deal. Related forum discussion.

    • Going by Coles, ww no as mentions different things in title.

    • +5

Still is a duplicate, question is whether this post is an exception. Probably should at least credit the original post.

      • +1

No, according to rules, not a dupe if the item is not in the title of the first thread

It's a bit silly imho, but that's how it is

  • +5

$58 ssd yeah i'll take it

also the $7 usb3 gbe adapter is cheap as, cheaper than the lenovo usb2/100 trash we have at work

    • Can anyone recommend a USB-C enclosure for this?

  • anyone use the docking station?

    • +1

I have it. Used it twice for an old hard drive that wasn't reading properly in my desktop. But works fine through the docking station.

  • Anyone have any experience with the keyboard?
I've never owned a mechanical keyboard but been looking at getting one.
This looks like a good price compared to others I've seen for ~$150<.

    • +2

It's all personal preference. More features = more money. They all do the same thing more or less. Some of extra macro and media keys. The only thing that's for sure is once you go mech, you won't go… beck… yeh… na….

    • +3

Mechanical keyboard is about choosing the right switches. My preference is cherry red.

  • This lg or the Dell p2417D… Hmm…

    • I have no idea what kind of monitor to get. Questions I have no idea how to answer:

      • 1080p or 1440p (or 4k) ?
      • IPS?
      • Refresh rate?

      For me I will be:

      • Doing some work (docs code etc)
      • Editing lots of photos
      • Multi taking heavily
      • Rarely, but sometimes - gaming
      • i would assume the higher resolution possible if you're editing and all that jazz. can't imagine high refresh rate benefiting you if you're not gaming.

      • I'm using a 32" 2K/QHD display (AOC Q3279VWF8) - great for multitasking as you can drag windows to the side and have them 'snap' to half of the screen. I move to this from using two monitors (24" and 19") side by side and find it easier and cleaner just operating with the single display.

Its a VA panel I think with 5ms - find it good for gaming and multitasking. Not sure what the colour calibration is like / how well it suits photo work but they claim 88% NTSC colour gamut.

      • +3

For photo editing you will want a high colour gamut (99% or close to it). The LG only has 78% so fairly terrible for that sort of stuff. If it is paid work I'd look elsewhere.

        • Wait it's that low? thanks for informing us, no go for me either.

          Dell's it is.

        • @Wonderfool: Yeh the Dell is only 82% though. So better but not great. Might have to fork out a bit more maybe? I'm sure you can just adapt and get away with it. Just depends how pedantic you need to be.

        • @mit: honestly, I'm not sure what the difference is. I've been working with my laptop which had a srgb of 95, add haven't tried anything else

        • @Wonderfool: Yeh I don't either. For me reproducing images from screen to print is where it really matters. Other than that I never cared. I used my crappy 70% sRGB dell monitor for that. Had to trial one photo but from then on was fine.

        • our reference point has become our incredible phone screens (Galaxy S8, Galaxy S7). Do these have a high colour gamut?

        • @kcbworth:
          Apparently so, srgb of 131.

          It is amoled, after all.

        • @Wonderfool: wonder how the Dell compares

        • @kcbworth: well, to the naked eye, similar to the iphone 7 (which has srgb of 104, Dell has 99).

But apparently to photoshopper, there is a 20% difference in color gamut. It has a huge ntsc and argb advantage apparently. What that means, no idea. I'm no Pro.

        • @mit: Oh ignore my comment on the Dell before. I googled that figure. Seems like it was wrong?

      • IPS is way better on photo works and for that you also want to have better resolution.

Refresh rate only affects you when you are playing games like FPS.

If you mean multi tasking as opening many windows on the screen (no hide / minimize to task bar etc), you would need bigger size of screen to accommodate your window with reasonable size + better resolution.

LG one there is quite decent price that I would like to consider if I had some space to put.

      • If image editing is the main purpose, I would suggest the dell ultrasharp models. Eizo colouredge monitors would be the go to for photographers, but the ultrasharp are much much better value.

    • I'm interested to know too.. Is this an OK monitor for the price for general use.

  • the screen is still $299 on their website

    http://www.msy.com.au/monitor-size-27/18772-lg-ips-27-27mp58…

  • Hell! I just bought these 2.1 speakers from Center com for 35

  • does anyone know if the 'Edimax EW-7722UTn 300m Wireless N USB NIC' is dual band?

    • only single band at 2.4Ghz

      • :( thanks for answering

  • +1

Why take the tn monitor when you can have similar price ips?

    • Isn't tn better for gaming

    • 1 ms vs 5 ms

      • I've seen and used both for an extensive period of time and from a perspective of a somewhat casual/serious gamer the IPS (5ms) is better than the TN overall. Some say the 4ms difference can make the difference in competitive games when the ms matters but I haven't seen a change whatsoever in my own experience (game play wise).

        • +1

That's because you're too busy wiping raids to focus on your screen.

          Leeeeeeeroy

        • @airal3rt: Indeed ha!

      • on a 60hz ?

  • +3

Time for 1080p to go the way of 1366x768

  • Gigaworks GWT-40-SII Series 2 Speakers should be a good replacement for the Logitech Z-10

  • When does this go online I always miss out.

  • HI guys, any tried Gamdias mouse, how are they compared to Steelseries? Thanks

    • +1

I have this mouse and it's excellent for the money. Very comfortable especially if you are a palm grip person. I think it uses Omron switches and has a decent branded optical sensor for gaming. It's a little bigger and heavier than my Logitech g900 mouse but my medium size hands fit it well.

      • Thanks solrak, I just bought one :)

  • +1

Hows the Gamdias Hermes keyboard compared to the Razer Blackwidow Tournament Edition? Also are they all blue switch? Thanks

  • The 120gb ssd looks very tempting at $58. Havent seen much in real world tests but Amazon reviews seem reasonable.

    • Yes I grabbed one, cant go wrong really.

      • looks like the final price for this ssd would be $69.75 after shipping and handling fee! now thats a real bummer.

  • Thanks OP had two older laptops NICs go faulty and couldn't bother replacing them so picked up two Edimax USB NIC adapters. Also picked up the Unitek docking station.

  • Is the Asus or LG Monitor "better" - they look fairly similar?

    • Depends on purpose.

      Gaming = Asus
Other than Gaming = LG in short.

      • Can you elaborate a bit?

What makes the Asus better for gaming and what makes the LG better for other stuff than gaming?

        • +1

ASUS - Fast response: This is something you may want if you play FPS or any movement intense game. It will produce less "ghosting"

LG - IPS - better in colour it could cover, view angle, etc. Pretty much better in many aspects than TN panel.

  • Why does the unitek y-3046 usb hub picture vary in the promotion and the link?

Saw youtube reviews, without OTG cable, so kind of doubtful. Cant find the y-3046A in their online store.

    • never mind, not buying it. $10.38 for shipping makes it almost the same price as ebay offerings.

  • Anyone have idea on SBS-A250 vs GWT40-SII?

Usually expensive one does better but not sure if it is worth the value.

  • Thank you op. Bought the gigabit USB adapter for my netbook. Plenty of stock at MSY Ultimo.
