That's pretty cheap for a 4k Blueray movie layer.. The lowest price i can find for a stand alone 4k Bluray player is $299

    • +5

And sometimes it even plays games. Technology, its mind blowing…

+1, I bought one a couple of months back to be used as a BR player, at the time it was the cheapest 3D 4k HDR BR player in the market. I'm guessing it still is.

    Resists and waits for Scorpio.

  • $242 for an XB1 S- what a bargain.

  • Great price but I already have a PS4 that I hardly use.

Would like to try out 4K on my 65" Bauhn TV but don't believe that I can justify it. I always said I would get it once it hit $250 but then I realise that practically any game I could buy would also be available on PS4.

I currently only own Sniper Elite, GTA 5, The Last Of US and Pro Evo Soccer (With Crash Bandicoot on the way).

The reality is that this will get even cheaper as time goes on.

    • the Bauhn 4K TVs aren't HDR

      • Yep, that is why I wanted to try 4K, not HDR :)

        • As you seem to be focused on the gaming side of things, bear in mind the XBOX One S doesn't do 4K gaming, only video.

That is unless you include 4K up-scaling, which a 4K TV does itself anyway. Using the XBOX's scaler rather than the TVs scaler would only makes a difference if your TVs scaler is particularly crap.

I guess that could be the case with Bauhn..

You've convinced me not to get one. I've got a PS4 I barely play. Most of my time is on the PC playing indie games. A current-gen console for just over $250 is a really good deal. But that's still a quarter of a grand I don't need to spend on something I'd barely use.

      • +1

Tempted to give ps4 to relative for a gift and try the Xbox.
        Deliberations..

        • I've spoken to a few friends about this. It all depends on the exclusives you want to play. I love Naughty Dog games. Love the inFamous series as well.

Also, I've heard (from the same friends) support from MS is pretty terrible. $250 is a pretty good deal, so why not go for it? It's cheaper than a mid-level mobile phone.

    • I've run my daughters unit on my 65" Bauhn and it looks great, I know it's a cheap TV with no HDR but it's still an upgrade over standard FHD by a long shot. I've been toying with the idea of getting one as well as a player and Netflix streamer etc. and have been waiting for them to come down, it's tempting at this price.

I started playing Mass Effect 4 on the Xbox and when she moved out and took the XB1S with her I bought it for the PS4 and started again. The difference in graphics was obvious between the two but I was also surprised at how much smoother the Xbox version was over the PS4 version - it's quite noticable during cut scenes, loading and voice dialogue interactions.

Also PS4 v XB1S games, you could also argue that most games are available on both so get the XB1s and play them in 4k over FHD of the PS4. Unless you have the PS4 Pro of course. That said, you do get the 4k player as well..

All of my gaming is current on a PS4 on a projector (in FHD, not 4k) so I wouldn't be doing much gaming on the XB1s, although I do plan on getting the XB One X and seeing as the games are backwards compatible it might be worth getting one soon and then giving it to a family member once the new unit is released..

Now to save up for a 4k projector..

      • +1

The XBOX One S is unlikely to make any difference on a 4K projector over a normal XBOX One as a true 4K projector would have either the same or higher quality upscaling built-in. In that scenario you'd need to buy an XBOX One X outputting 4K natively to get an improvement in picture quality.

  • Man that is cheap for an Xbox

  • Yay! Cheers OP, grabbed one for my son. Excellent price :)

    • +4

Hi dad, I need one too.

      • +3

Not a problem. Just ask your mum first :)

  • +1

if a Ps4 comes in at this price Im going for it as a media player and sometimes game thing. nice deal

  • Thanks OP, finally pulled the trigger. White and green controllers also available for $69 each (plus can then apply vouchers).

  • +6

Thanks ozb, so now I have a gaming pc, Xbox one, ps4, great bookshelf speakers, and loads of controllers and peripherals….. now all I need is a bargain for a time machine

  • Best deal I've seen yet. I used to have the one with Kinect. It has a great library of games. Only got rid of it because I play on PC now. I kinda miss Halo though.

  • Any cheap Halo bundles?

    • +1

I just picked up Halo Master Chief collection $17 off cdkeys and Halo 5 for $32 at JB/EB. Beware they take up a ridiculous amount of storage!

      • Omg! MCC is so massive. I was shocked the first time I installed it and it instantly wanted to update. Halo 5 I expected it.

  • Can the minecraft package be resold anywhere? Any idea what price? I'm just after the xbox and controller.

    • +1

      About 15

  • Didn't even think, just bought at this price. Finally secured an Xbox 1 for under $250. Lowest Price ever?

  • Thanks OP - also bought one at this price. I was going to ring my local BigW (Warrawong) and then have to drive out there. For this price it's delivered to me.. and all i really wanted was a UHD player for the new TV.. and thanks also to those who pointed out that it comes with a HDMI 2.0 cable!

  • Buy or wait for 15%?

    • I'm surprised these haven't sold out yet.

  • After passing on the last hundred Xbox One S deal, I finally got this one, 99% for 4K disc playback.

  • Can I apply the code and use Target egift card at the same time?

    • Can't use target gift card on ebay

  • +2

No more free delivery but C&C still available.
