Hmm, this looks pretty good. Anyone used one?

haven't personally but big w are pretty easy going with returns if it's a pos

nope, but there are two good reviews on ProductReview.

    • This one does have a lower power motor than many of the higher-end mixers (this is the lower-end version of the Scraper Mixer Pro, which is 1000W, this one is 700W), but it would be fine for standard cakes / egg whites. It would start to struggle if you had to knead dough or thicker mixes.

      • on Breville website it says this is 900W.
        https://www.breville.com.au/the-scraper-mixer.html

        • Hopefully that's right - I went off the BigW page which says 700W. Interesting!

        • @tori: what i can see is compared to PRO ..this one has 100W less wattage and no timer function ( i dont mind using my phone as a timer)
for $99 it should be a great buy

        • @Jabberwocky:

Yeah it's a great price, agreed.

      • I think that was the bem410 version, looks different to the other scrapper mixers.

        bem430 (900w) looks like a less flashier Scrapper mixer pro bem800 (1000w).

430 would be have a great buy at $99 + delivery.

        • what i can see is 100W less wattage and no timer function ( i dont mind using my phone as a timer)
for $99 it should be a great buy

I think they made a mistake on the Big W page saying it was 700W. Breville list it at 900W.

I would bought one to replace my dodgy Kenwood 510 but it fell off the bench over the weekend, broke the rubbish bin, dinted the floor and has never run better. go figure. It's built like farm machinery and about as noisy.

        • @CJ31:

My kitchenaid is 250 watts and has more than enough grunt, it hasn't ever even remotely struggled. Pretty sure you could throw some bricks in there and it would crush them up. To borrow your description it's build like farm machinery.

Maybe some "marketing watts" in here or inefficient motors?
          πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

Anyway, hard to go wrong for $99?! Good deal OP

        • @LoopyLou: Measuring force in appliances is so weird. Watts is is definitely a bad measure. Maybe we could use horsepower instead, but I've never seen horses do any mixing before.

  • Should be able to use a Woolworths eGift card through Cashrewards to get another 5% off that price too. Brings it down to $94.05.

https://www.bigw.com.au/product/nutri-ninja-auto-iq-blender/… also nutri ninja for $99, not bad, best blender ive had

  • No more:(

  • Good deal but for parents and in law.

    Yeah No more

  • +1

    mixers are all sold.

  • Was going to post this deal but you beat me to it. I bought 3 pieces from my local Big W store. Still 4 left on shelf.

  • +2

    OK.

We purchased this one however I will add this was a few years ago.

The scraper mixer was useless. The scraper bit didnt correctly hit the edge of the bowl, not enough power to mix thick mixes etc. Chatted to Breville & they agreed to swap it for a Pro version if we paid the difference.

The Pro is excellent, daily use for years & never skipped a beat.

Summary, buy Breville mixers but not sure about this exact model…

    • Never mind..

    • daily use ? Wow. Mine is lucky to be pulled out once a month

      • Couple of avid cooks in my house :)

  • out of stock online…I am in Castle Hill so I picked up one from Winston Hills BigW. It was the last piece.
    Called up other nearby stores,
-Merrylands was the only other store which has it in stock in store…if anyone wants to pick up.

  • Scored the last one on the northside of Brisbane (I think) after 4 phone calls.

Should be excellent value at this price - $30 cheaper than my Kitchenaid hand held mixer that I bought at the beginning of the year!

There doesn't seem to be a great deal of difference between this and the BEM800 Pro version - but the stainless steel bowl would have been nice!

Back in stock.. Just bought one..

    • can't see.. how did you manage to get ?

  • +3

Purchased one of these last week for $249, so thanks to OP and OzBargain it's being returned this afternoon! Already purchased the last $99 at my local on my way home from work πŸ‘

  • I am deeply saddened that I missed this deal.

    • Check your local stores. I called a few thinking I'd have to drive around to find one after work but my closest store had one left πŸ˜‰

      • Local store has 2 in stock. Guy on the phone said its $349.00 and only online for that price. Won't price match BIGW online store….

        • My store still had $349 on the shelf but it scanned at $99

        • Mine to

    • +2

Was that guy too lazy to scan the price for you? I would give them a call again.

      • +2

I'd do the same, shelf price was still at $349 but scanned at $99 ;)

        • +5

I decided to head down there, boom 2 on the shelf. Scanned for $99. I even asked him on the phone whether it scans for $99, he said 'Nope thats online only price.' Lying $#!T! Aghh well have it now.

  • Hurstville at 15:40: 3 available
    At 15:41: 2 left (because I picked one :-) )

  • I went into Canberra centre store about 2.45. 3 on the shelf. Marked at 349.00.

Guy just happened to be there with a scanner. I asked if they were on sale. He scanned it and said "yep. $99." So now there are only 2 on the shelf.

  • just picked up the apparent last one at Melbourne central! thanks op. a bloody good find!

  • 2 at garden city

  • I ordered one online and picked one up if anyone in bris south after online when arrives for cash or trade hit me up

  • 3 left at Rousehill store after I picked one up at 20:50 this evening.

  • Does anyone know if these are good for kneading dough? Sounds like its only useful for cakes/baking etc.

  • Just be sure to check your products when u receive or at the store to ensure all items are intact. I bought before 2 same items of slow juicer from Big W and didn't open one box thinking everything should be intact when the box is still sealed and to my horror surprise when I opened the box 1 yr later there are many items missing!

  • 5-6 remaining at the Penrith store. Tags still say 350 but it's scans up at $99

  • There's two left at the Chermside store, still scanning at $99

  • Thanks, got one! Choice recommended the older 410 model and this one seems to be a more powerful version so hopefully win-win still

  • +1

Thank you sooo much! I got the last 1 from Box Hill yesterday

  • Online order got cancelled

    • That's disappointing. Any explanation?

    • Same here… very sad.

    • when you guys placed the order? mine was at 11:02 and it's showing as awaiting processing… Dont know if i have any luck.

      • Mine was 10:55 and got cancelled

        • Does this mean it was likely a price error?

        • I doubt it as they actually had tickets with the $99 price on them at the store I picked mine up from. I suspect they may have oversold on them online. No chance of getting any store stock to fulfil the online orders since they all flew out the door super quick.

Thought of buying a few to resell.

    • -1

      Andddd we care because?

    • A few items had freshly listed on Ebay or Gumtree. Unwanted gift from OP I believe…

  • It is actually a 900W model.

  • Great buy! Thanks! I bought mine in store at Menai, I rang beforehand and they put one in the Lay-bys section for me. There were three others in layby at the time too, everyone must have the same idea πŸ‘Œ

    • Yes, 2 of those were mine MOWAHAHAHA >:D

I rang over a dozen stores before this one and almost every time I asked the rep to find stock on a mixer the reply was "Are you referring to the one for $99?"

  • Is this deal still live? Is there an easy way to find out which store might stock them?

Best way would be to call customer care line and get them to check stock levels by location, downside it's not always accurate, low numbers could give you false hopes as they might be display models or faulty returns.

I just called store by store I could physically get to. If you do it this way, make sure you quote this article number (keycode for some): 512581
You want to make sure they actually check stock levels electronically to give you precise answers, sometimes if you go by description the person who checks might not know what it is or isn't interested to know, they might place you on hold and go check as a show of effort then come back and tell you they have no stock, in the meantime it's a waste of your precious time. I just try and avoid listening to their call hold music. Yes, it's that unbearable. And Good luck!
