Update: For those who have cards with a November '17 expiry instead of an 18 month expiry:

Hey guys, just spoke to a customer care rep from Woolworths Mobile, she said for me to take a picture of the front and back of each of my sim card packs and then send them an email to [email protected]. Someone in the Customer Care Team will raise the issue and they will then extend each of the sim card packs to 24 months (the customer care rep told me she thinks that they will extend the sim packs to 24 months). Apparently Woolworths Mobile are aware of this. I will let you guys know if the sim card packs do get extended to 24 months.

Thanks zeer20.

    Exceptional value, thank you easternculture.

  • Expiry date sept 2017 that sucks

    • +1

      idk

SIM card must be activated within 24 months of purchase (bonus data is only applied if activated before 30 September 2017)

    • That date only refers to the bonus 1GB data. So if you activate after 30-Sep, you will get 3GB of data instead of 4GB. The sim cards will have an expiry date on the pack and can be activated any time up to that date. The Woolies $1 sims I bought a last year expire 31-Dec-2017, so I suspect these will have expiry date around middle to late next year.

oh well looks like its sold out…

  • +1

    Noooooo

    Missed out :(

  • +1

Wow that vanished at the blink of an eye.. I wonder if they had just a handful of them available?!

    • The $1 sims from woolworths way back expire soon, so I imagine there's quite a few who would buy a dozen given the chance

      • +1

Gave you a plus to even out the moron who gave you a neg for your comment. Your comment is totally valid and not neg worthy. I bought the $1 Woolies sims and yes I will be getting a few of these as Woolies uses Telstra network and gets better reception and data speeds than Kogan or Optus sims for most people.

        • Thanks billy bob, your a king among men. For the record I'm in the same boat. Toying with either this or the amaysim $10/m offer just to buy some time

  • managed to get 1… when I tried login for my partner to get one for her it was already sold out… that was quick

    • Do you know how long is the delivery time for this?

      • nope.. still waiting..
        apparently they expire in august,

        • u mean its been over a week and its still has not been delivered ?

        • @sub7er:

Ummm What part of "still waiting" that wasn't clear.

  • +1

Just got one. I'm visiting Australia tomorrow. Thanks from Tokyo, Japan.

    • Just watch out for delivery time. Not sure how long that be / how long you're here for

      • Do you know how long is the delivery time for this?

        • honestly no clue. it was just cause he was coming from overseas and mightve wanted to use the sim card straight away

  • Thanks - got 3. Been waiting for this for a while …

    • You have to port out each time or can you use them consecutively?

      • I have never tried activating replacement SIMs to use them consecutively - always been porting to other provider.

  • Ah, it's back, nice. Shame it won't get here before my 5 day $10 Optus SIM expires….

  • I'm just about to come off a 24 month contract so I'm new to a lot of these deals and 'sim hopping', but I was wondering am I able to buy 2 of these and use them 2 months in a row? Would I have to use both sims or am I able to use just one sim out of both packs?

  • Is it every month $15 or only the first month?

  • Does anyone know how long this is taking to be delivered?

  • I got an email today saying it's been dispatched and that it should arrive in 21 days

    • and when did you place the order through groupon?

      • yeh me too but it arrived today in mail, did you receive yours today?

        • Mine arrived today, but expiry is 30/11/2017 not the two years that was stated in the product description…

  • +1

Did anyone else receive sims that expire in November of this year instead of the 24 months that was in the product description? I tried to contact groupon but they said to talk to woolies..

  • This is concerning that the sims expire in November instead of the 24 months as promised.

And we should not be the ones contacting Woolies, as we dealt with Groupon.

I probably suggest everyone to make a claim through PayPal (if you paid by PayPal, I certainly did!)

I have not received the sims yet (I am in WA), but will report back once they arrive.

    • I told them that as well and they said they'll "look into it". I did pay with PayPal but will PayPal be able to do anything?

  • I also received my SIM cards today and they also expire 30/11/2017, so the 24 months expiry stated on Groupon website is misleading.
Has anyone heard back from Groupon? What do we do?
I wanted to send them email, but they only offer to call them on 1300962032, but only Mon-Fri, so will have to wait…

    • Haven't heard back yet. I contacted them through the online chat so you can give that a go, but they weren't helpful at all and just told me to ask Woolies. let me know if you have better luck

      • I received mine yesterday, and the expiry date is November 2017 as well…haven't contact Groupon, but doubt they could help anything :(

        • They definitely were not helpful but it might be worth a try if you have the time. It's just frustrating because i wouldn't have bought it if I knew it expired so soon.

        • @yessum:

Me too. I'll try to complain or queriry on this issue on Monday.

        • @yessum:

Groupon said they don't have an option to extend the expiry date of the sim, and also it's non-refundable item. I mentioned about the 24 months thing, and the online chat person just told me pls be advised, you still got plenty of time…

        • @littlehappy: Seriously? That's really misleading though. Also it's non refundable for change of mind, does this count as change of mind if we were mislead about the dates? I'm thinking about getting a chargeback on my card or going through paypal.
Did they put your case through to the resolutions team at least?

        • @yessum:

They probably would say "your request was escalated and the refund was not approved by our resolutions team", that's what I got. I did quote from the origin words on the web page about "SIM card must be activated within 24 months of purchase" yet we don't really have 24 months of expiry date, and this is so misleading people. However, they insisted on the buyers should have a lot of time through the expiry date.

  • Did anyone else receive this SIM card with nov 17 expiry ?

  • +1

Received my 3 packs, and yep, they all expire 30 Nov 2017. NOT HAPPY!!!

I have contacted Woolworths Mobile and they requested all three starter packs' serial numbers, said they would investigate with Groupon, and would get back to me.

In the mean time, Groupon has amended the details of the offer and now the starter packs must be activated within 90 days of purchase (was within 24 months before).

Please anyone post once there is any other update?

    • I've been back and forth with Groupon and they have been useless. They told me they changed the description as if that was a solution for me. They've repeatedly told me to just contact Woolworths so let me know if that ends up being resolved from Woolworths end.

      • +1

Will update you when I have new update on this.

        By the way this is the email I received from Woolworths email;

        Dear ,

Thank you for taking the time to contact Woolworths Mobile.

We have now forwarded the details of the SIM cards you have received to our support team for their investigation and response to you. Please allow up to three business days to be contacted in regards to this matter.

If you have any further queries, please call our Customer Care Centre on 1665 from your Woolworths Mobile (It's a free call) or 1300 10 1234 from any other phone (Normal charges apply). One of our customer service representatives will be readily available and are always happy to assist.

        • I've been getting these responses from Groupon:

          Hi,

          Thank you for your patience.

For any such specific query, please be advised to contact Woolworths Online for support: 1300 10 1234, as they have more expertise in resolving your query.

Should there be any other query, please do not hesitate to contact us.

          Regards,

And the most recent response being

          Hi,

          Thank you for your patience.

As this deal is a non refundable deal, a refund is not possible at this instance.

Also as all the item queries are being handled only by Woolworths, we request you to contact them to get issue resolved.

I'm sorry that I'm not able to assist you any further in this scenario.

Should there be any other query, please do not hesitate to contact us.

          Regards,

Doesn't seem like Groupon will be very helpful at this point

          @Zeer70:

Thanks mate, that's so much helpful than Groupon!

@littlehappy: Absolutely! The Customer Service Rep from Woolworths Mobile contacted me stating that they forwarded the sim packs numbers to their support team so that they can be extended to a full 2 years expiry. So it should all be good now! Best to contact Woolworths!

  • +2

After initial contact with WW Mobile team, providing them with serial numbers and them promising to "resolve" the issue I haven't heard back. So I contacted them again just now via chat and they renewed the sims til 30 july 2019.

    hope it helps.
