eBay Pay No Insertion Fees for 100 Items Per Day

140

Insertion Fees will be waived for the first 100 items you list and make available for purchase in either Auction or Fixed Price format each day in a single category during the Promotion Period.

Final Value Fees, Feature Fees and other fees set out at eBay.com.au are still applicable.

If you do not list 100 items per day, the number of free insertion fees will not rollover and will be forfeited.

The number of eligible listings will refresh daily.

NOTE: I didn't actually have to accept this offer, I was emailed it but it was automatically applied to my account and is listed on the landing page under Promotional Offers.

However, it's showing as -1 for some reason, maybe when I list something it will sort itself out?

I always get sucked in with this free insertion thing, then once I've got what I want & try to leave, I get hit with a bill.

    • are we still talking about ebay ?

  • off topic, how did you get to that promotions page? Looks like you have a few offers there and I wouldn't mind selling something on ebay.

It's on your account landing page (activity tab).

All offers should appear under "Promotional Offers" at the bottom.

EDIT: If you mean the actual offer itself, I was emailed it (your account must be set to accept eBay promos to get these targeted offers).

      • yeah, that's what I was asking, looks like I don't have a promotional offers section haha. thanks anyway!

Insertion fees are not the same as final value fees.

Once you have successfully sold your item on eBay, you will be charged roughly 10 percent of your item's final value (+including shipping cost) as seller fees.

Just something to keep in mind guys.

    • 11% plus a percentage of shipping cost.

  • My account page is showing the same OP. Hope it sorts itself out.

Everyone whines about fees, and I wish they were cheaper, but when you take into account the exposure that eBay gives you and that you don't pay any fees until you sell something it's not that bad.

I put an ad in a newspaper a number of years ago, cost me over $30 for two weeks and it never sold.

And the fees should be incorporated into your selling price, so it's the buyer who pays it.

      • I always try to sell elsewhere first .i.e. gumtree

eBay is a last resort and thankfully people will often pay higher prices so the high fees can be offset somewhat

        • +1

Same, everything I have listed on eBay I have on GumTree.

What I hate about selling on eBay is not the fees so much but the risk for a claim.

Even if you do everything right you can still get screwed.

Freaking eBay Guarantee and PayPal claims.

The worst is a PayPal claim, which can be done up to six months after the sale.

So someone can buy something, use it for a while and then send it back.

And with an eBay claim you have to pay for return shipping.
