If they are decent size why not try making potato scollops at home!
Slice potato on Mandolin 2.5mm is about the right size cut, mix water and a egg, add equal parts flour and self raising flour until it's very thick (just before it gets lumpy and stodgy, if you go to far just add more water) Fry potato scollops for 1 min each side and pull out and let then sit on a tray for 20 min until cool then refry until golden.
And they are washed so dw bout peeling.
For best results let them cool then recook, it will make the batter crispier and while they sit the batter holds some heat and continues cooking the potato abit.

Didn't see spuds at that price at my Coles today. Might be a state, or even store specific thing.
I'm so lazy i buy thr 500g baby potatoes in a bag, microwave it for 5 min and boom finish in the oven or whatever you were going to do
