I tend to use the color modes when watching movies or entertaining as it sets a nice ambience.
Those were exactly my thoughts. But I'm happy to fork under $20 delivered product to experiment myself. After all it could be fun. If not, not that big money to satisfy curiosity :-)
I bought one as an experiment. They're great in a bedside lamp. There's a sunset and sunrise mode. A press of a button on my phone while I'm getting ready for bed causes it to gradually go red and then dim and turn off, which I find helps me get to sleep. I've also got it set to do sunrise 5 mind before my alarm goes off, and it keeps getting brighter for about 10 minutes, which is a gentle way of waking up. I'm also enjoying being able to switch between bright white light while reading and warm white for most other things when you want to feel cosy.
Also, I've discovered that if you can't be bothered reaching for your phone, you can always flick the switch on and off on the lamp and it comes on.
I'm interested to hear how others are using theirs.

Ahh, sorry precious, you take things personally… Fair point on T&Cs, will include that in description. But you posting expiry status without proving that you are VIP and this is your first purchase is kind of pointless. Anyways, two things possible here. Either the site expired code as they realised it is still active where shouldn't be or you simply do not comply with T&Cs

Yes, you can if your phone and the bulb can reach same wifi (there are enough youtubes about that too).
All routing is done via the cloud, thus you don't have to be on the same wifi network, you just need an internet connection.
For the intermediate user, you can connect IFTTT to your Yeelight bulbs and trigger it in so many more creative ways than an 'on' button.
What is everyone's favorite bulb colour? Just curious. I like white. So I'm not really sure what's in it for me, but these seem to be very popular, so I wanted to know what I'm missing.
