expired Qantas FF 2000 Points for Updating Personal Details

5840

Not sure if this one's targeted but I just received a newsletter from Qantas referring to the introduction of 2-factor authentication. After clicking on the update details button, adding a mobile number, and confirming, they advised that I will receive 2000 Qantas points in a few weeks time.

  •

5 weeks and still counting. No points. Anyone got the 2000 points?

  •

6 Weeks now, to the day. Nothing. Thanks a lot Qantas, for nothing.

  •

    Talking about being honourable…

  •

September 1 and I haven't received any points either:(

  • +3 votes

I just emailed them asking if they would honour this and provided the link to this page as their evidence as i didn't save a screenshot.

  •

Does anyone have a screenshot saved for this promotion?
Or even a screenshot saying that the 2000 bonus will be coming our way?
Qantas emailed back saying they need a screenshot.

    Thanks.

  •

    No points received.

  •

Have contacted them; they are submitting a request to followup on my missing points.

    •

I did too but they asked for proof.
What proof did you submit from this offer?

      • +1 vote

The text that appeared after submission, ""CONGRATULATIONS, YOU'VE EARNED 2,000 BONUS QANTAS POINTS. Thanks for confirming your details. Your 2,000 bonus Qantas Points will appear in Your Account within six weeks. If you thought earning those Qantas Points was easy, check here for loads of other quick ways to earn Qantas Points and reach Frequent Flyer rewards you love sooner.""

  •

They are trying to get out of it. They want a screenshot and of course, you don't think to take one at the time, not foreseeing of a future issue. Did anyone get something emailed from them about this offer or have a screenshot?

  •

Thanks, found a screenshot as well.
Have forwarded it on to them…

  •

I got a response this morning, asked for a screenshot and they will happily process. I've sent a screenshot. Stay tuned.

  •

Ok, success. Provided a screenshot and they have now (yes I've actually logged in to confirm) credited my account with 2000pts.

  •

I just got the 2000 points today. I didn't have to contact them. The entry's details state "Bonus points - Check your details promotion".

    • +1 vote

same here. i thought of contacting them today.. good to see that the points came through.

  •

My points just posted, I did contact them early this week but not sure if they helped.

  •

Same as others, points posted on all the families accounts today, didn't need to "complain"… :)
Disappointed to see a lot of the posts above mine don't even have the gratitude to post a +Ve vote for the deal.

    •

T&C's specify 4-6 weeks. Remember that. Just because a company has been caught out and started to credit customers doesn't mean they did the right thing to start with. I wonder if no one had made a complaint whether anyone would have their points. But hey, the complainants are scum right?

In relation to your last comment, not at all. We upvote based on the deal and recognising the OP's contribution in the main ……I am sure the majority of the above have not cancelled out there + vote. I continuallly find it amazing that there are so many great deals, with many comments and no voting, and that a number fail to understand why voting is important. Just saying.

        •

Thanks for the upvote, and really glad to see Qantas have honoured this deal. Reading a few of the comments above, some have re-posted this deal on their own blogs, Twitter etc but couldn't even get themselves to upvote the deal on ozbargain.

Agree. What's so hard to upvote. It's a sign of gratitude and cost you nothing.

BTW, got the points. Thanks OP.

        •

Agreed with your observation and happy that you highlighted. I'm giving my upvote now. Thanks OP.

        •

@F1ngolf: I upvoted too. Thanks for reminding me. Cheers :)

        •

"Vote positive if you feel the deal itself is good."

Different people vote for different reasons depending on the interpretation of the above. Everyone appreciates posters bringing deals to them, that's a no brainer, it's how the deal or company is that might be an issue of contention to someone and effect their vote if they are in fact voting for the legitimacy, or otherwise, of the deal. It depends on how you want to use your vote.

Just to add that I got on QFF webchat on 29 Aug right after the 6 weeks has lapsed. Was told to email instead which I did with a screenshot of QFF bonus points confirmation. (Due to previous bad experience with QFF, I decided to keep a screenshot then) To date, I've not received any reply to my email. Just check that the bonus points was credited on 8 Sep 2017 (not complaining). Based on the sequent of events, the possibility that the massive queries (probably bulk from Ozbargain:)) QFF receives on the missing bonus points moved the needle to honour the bonus points is definitely there.

Yes. "Just because a company has been caught out and started to credit customers doesn't mean they did the right thing to start with." But am glad that they at least try to do the right thing.

  •

    Points arrived! Thanks OP!

  •

Same here, just got it few hours ago. Thanks OP!

  •

Points arrived for me as well.

Just got mine too :) thanks OP and to all who made Qantas did the right thing

  •

    Got mine!

  •

Thanks to those who gave Qantas a nudge. In my activity statement, it gives September 8 as the transaction date. Suggests Qantas weren't gonna originally honour the points perhaps?

    •

4-6 weeks was specified as the transactional date by which the points would be credited to the customers account. I would expect with a company such as Qantas this would be adhered to. It wasn't and afaik not one single person got the points in the specified time frame. This leads me to believe they simply just weren't going to honour the points. I don't like to think the worst of a good company but when people are asked to provide screenshots (which of course most folk won't have), well, it makes me actually start to wonder about them.
