Thanks OP. Just got the concierge credit yesterday. Perfect timing. Planning to use it with my pi zero from recent deal

  • Also the Logitech MK220 is $18.00 at Harvey Norman.

    • +3

I prefer Mk270r compare to MK220, as keys are too small on MK220

    • 220 keys are not that spacious

    3 Years Warranty too

Does this use the unifying receiver?

    • It does. Damn good deal. Cheers.

      • No it doesnt. Mk270 uses unifying. MK270R does not.

        • +1

@OzSikhs: 270R uses a nano receiver, not a unifying receiver.

          Look on the Logitech website.

        • +1

          @djkelly69:

Yes but OzSikhs already said that it does use a unifying receiver

        • +1

          http://support.logitech.com/en_au/product/wireless-combo-mk2ā€¦

according to above, bottom of the specs table, it does come with Unifying Receiver

        • @OzSikhs: Really? You are using the description from a random computer shop's website as proof?

        • +2

@allenhori: Actually reading the specs table suggests it can come with either.

I would suggest people not buy it on the basis it has a unifying receiver. Feel free to ignore.

        • +14

How can a unifying receiver cause so much division?

        • @djkelly69: Not sure why you got negged. But website says it is nano as well.
          http://www.logitech.com/en-au/product/wireless-combo-mk270?cā€¦

        • +1

@allenhori: You have linked MK270, which is different model. Current model is MK270R.

        • @ialam99: It's the transmitter that isn't in unison.

        • @djkelly69: Just walked downstairs to JB Hifi and had a look at both the MK270R and the K270.

K270 comes with unifying receiver (has a star).
MK270R comes with nano receiver (which looks like the unifying receiver except no star and says nano receiver).

That aside. I already have a unifying receiver, so not overly bothered, however the mouse is tiny. Can anyone comment on using this as a daily mouse?

    • +3

      Unfortunately no…. MK270 has unifying receiver whereas MK270r doesn't.

    • It doesn't, it is the nano, and matched to the keyboard/mouse it came with.

    • Does a unifying receiver allow me to use my existing Logitech m325 mouse with the same dongle?

Very solid keyboard/mouse combo - I install heaps of these in small pharmacies and similar simply because they have dedicated, large function(F) keys which are important with POS and Dispense systems.

Reliable in service and good battery life.

Just bought another 5 for stock!!

I have the K270, 6 years old and still ticking. The included battery lasted me 4 years.

  • Just one question about wireless keyboards — generally they don't have an LED to show the caps lock (or num lock, or scroll lock) state.

Is there any software for Windows 10 to show the caps lock state (on screen)? I couldn't find any

    • +1

It should show on screen, assuming you are going to install the Setpoint

    • +1

I have K270 and it does have the Caps Lock LED, but not the Num/Scroll Lock. As siuol, you might have to install Setpoint to get it working.

    • +1

Just bought one (typing this using it :))
Can confirm it has a caps lock LED, but not num lock or scroll lock.

      • Just picked one up and having trouble getting the KB to pair (already have an MX Master so dont need the mouse)
Not being recognised. Changed the batteries. no dice. No seeing any caps lock LED light up. does that mean its DOA?
        UPDATE: suddenly came good(!). Happy!

    • I used to use one which showed three "LEDs" in taskbar. Can't remember the name but it won't take much googling to find it.

Is this good to use with Raspberry Pi 0?

    • +1

      Yep, good as gold.

  • +2

This is the keyboard that lasted me years until it met a cup of coffee it didn't like. There is a Caps Lock light, just no scroll or number lock light, and it is software rather than "hard switch" driven. It states Windows/Chrome on the box, but works fine with Ubuntu/Mint.
Marion hasn't marked them down yet, but they are scanning @ $20. Plenty left on the bottom shelf.

  • Thanks OP, Ordered one

  • Thanks OP just ordered 2 cheers :)

anyone having trouble paying with paypal? i tried like 10 times with paypal n never could pay for it. tried once with credit card and it accepted no problem

    • Me and my friend bought one for us and paid with paypal. No issues.

      • +1

I'm still not sure who actually bought it, but well done anyway.

        • We both bought it. Let me rephrase it. I bought one and paid with paypal. Had no issue. My friend also bought one and also paid with paypal. Also had no issue. šŸ˜Š

    • Same issue, can't buy with pay Pal.

    • I also had the same issue. Tried Chrome and IE. Ended up paying by CC.

  • Is this good for my Samsung smart TV?

  • +1

Thanks OP, ordered one here too. Seems to have great reviews all round. The ON/OFF Feature should save even more battery life; which is always a plus.

  • brilliant. Paypal worked for me. Thanks guys.

    • same. cheers grabbed 3

  • Thanks!

  • WEnt to Maribyrnong store to pick mine and to buy one for a friend. Heaps of stock.

  • Whats the difference in unifying receiver and nano receiver?

  • Bought one yesterday. Keyboard is quite nice but the mouse is a little small for my liking, it's actually not the same mouse as the one shown in the image at Good Guys site either (Its an M185). I reckon that one in the image might be from the Mk270.

    • I thought the same and decided to look for a bigger mouse. Visited harvey norman, jb hifi, ow and after looking at the prices i came back to good guys and bought this one. Cant find even a tail of mouse for $20. Its so cheap.

just snagged last one at GGs Lutwyche QLD - staffer said 30 people (ozbargainers) came in today for it - cheers to Trent86

  • Price matched at Hornsby Bing Lee. Thanks OP.

  • Picked one up over the weekend to connect to an NVR.
Mouse is a bit uncontrollable, almost as if the middle-scroll is on constantly.

    Works well on PC however.

  • got one on a $20 credit coupon.

  • Just pick up mine yesterday. Mouse works fine. Keyboard is a dud. Any ideas before i return it? I tried latest driver n new batteries and moving the usb dongle to another slot but no luck. Light doesn't come on when turning on keyboard

    • The only light than comes on is the caps-lock [A] light. If the mouse is working, it isn't the receiver. If the batteries are good, facing the right way and you don't have a plastic "shipping" cover over the terminals them you've picked up a dud :-(
