so there are cheaper options that are available

      link then?

You're right, but I wouldn't buy from DWI or eGlobal. qd_au have been fantastic in my experience.

      • I've bought from DWI twice and have had no issues. HK to my door in 3 days both times. Though I've never had to do a return so I don't know how that would go.

  • I'm currently using this phone if anyone has any niche questions.

    • +1

How cold is the screen @ >9000k? I always wanna buy one but the screen tone and mediocre camera put me off?

      • I didn't mean that niche, lol - unless of course you're talking about the camera in manual mode? If so, the manual White Balance doesn't go that warm.

The camera isn't mediocre, although I do find it over-sharpens and I am experiencing some weird distortion with the wide 8MP lens.

        • I meant the colour reproduction on the screen. It's on the extreme code (blue) side.

        • @MadMaxBargainRoad:

Now that you mentioned it, it is a little on the cold side. There is comfort view that'll lessen it although there are only presets. No fine grain control.

        • @rorymeister: Too bad they don't display it anymore in JB. Really wanna see a real unit.

        • @MadMaxBargainRoad:

Yep, they don't - when I went to pick mine up at JB they didn't have any on display. Mine was such an implusive, no research, 'I want quad-dac' buy.

          No regrets yet.

Nice to have removable battery after the 6P fiasco and I've bought an SD card.

It's like I've gone back in time (in a good way) after being on Nexus since 2013.

        • @MadMaxBargainRoad: just buy one man, the camera is very good and the screen can be fine tuned but is fine.

    • How quick is the camera to focus and take photos in average light? My wife has my old G3, and the only real complaint with it is that it takes freaking ages to actually take a photo after the button is pushed. Plus the low light performance is pretty average as well (to be expected for a 3 year old phone).

      • I can literally tap as fast as possible and all (if not, most) of the taps will get a picture.

        • So tempted…

      • It's really quick, especially in good lighting.

      • Even when you put it on manual, you still have the AEL [automatic exposure level] toggle. You get a better, less processed shot and can toggle on and off for fine adjustment. The drawback is that it resets when you leave the app :-/
Also, don't choose to save to the SD card. That way lies pain…

    • Battery life review please?

      • Hmm. I have Bluetooth enabled with quad DAC, and with just browsing, WhatsApp and the odd YouTube video I get about 4 hours screen on time.

      • With normal use, a little browsing, ~ 1-1/2 hour Hi-Fi listening, bluetooth connection to an LG Urbane, five or six JPG + RAW manual shots and 1/2 Hr video I get down to ~ 65% battery at the end of the day after ~ 4 weeks ownership. The screen can use quite a bit if you have it on full brightness, but you save a little on the power bill for the sun-bed.

    • is the audio as good as the reviews make it out to be.

    • @rorymeister: Is remote control supported in TeamViewer?

  • after having this phone for more than a month, just realised that it doesnt have the notification led.

    • It took you over a month to notice that? You probably don't need it then :)
Seriously, I will never buy a phone without an LED again.

    • +2

Why would you need one? The whole point of the second screen is to make the LED redundant.

      • As someone moderately colour blind, I find it to be better than a notification LED. Just wish it were OLED

        • I would have loved if the entire screen was OLED so you could just light up part of it at a time rather than having the actual second screen. Just dedicate a portion of the top of the display to it.

        • @potplanty:

Yep. The V30 probably will have that.

  • +1

it's cheaper from here $391.5 including 16G card and cable http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Brand-New-LG-V20-H990DS-Dual-Sim-…

        99.6% Positive feedback (38770) vs 98% (5520).

        I know who I'd choose.

Does the coupon work on this?

Item condition:For parts or not working

      • oh i see.. I missed that part. thanks.

  • +2

Have it and love it. And that coming from a Oneplus 3T. Fells great in the hand, fast UI. Can't say much about camera as i don't use it. Battery life is good but not the best, slow charging compared to the Oneplus.

    • +1

Anything is slowly charged compared to DASH charging

      • Unfortunately, besides that I love the V20

  • This or G6 which one is better?

    • +1

Dunno mate. I personally prefer the look of the G6, also has SD821.

Not sure if the camera is better, though.

      Audio definitely better on G6

  • Any bootloop issues with this phone?

    • +1

No. That issue has been rectified in subsequent LG phones

  • -5

Beaware that LG phones suffer from serous bootloop issues that turns your phone into a useless brick around about the 12 month mark. Suggest buying local stock with extended warranty just to be safe.

Please google it and see for yourself if not sure.

    • All of them including this model or are just jumping on the lg phones bootloops. You may want to revise that and state which models before you get more downvotes. For the record i didnt down vote you.
