    • I got the Android and Coles Express specials. Nothing on my bank issued card.

  • +1

I got the Qantas/Android Pay promo but neither Harris Farm or Coles, Amex issued card.

    • Same here, no Harris Farm. Perhaps it is because Harris Farm stores are all in Sydney, so Amex figured based on our address location, that we are less likely to make use of it. After all, its mainly fresh produce. I could be wrong.

  • +1

I only got Coles Express on 2 of my 4 cards.

  • +1

I only got Android Pay on my main card but nothing else on the main card, and nothing at all on the supplementaries…

  • -5

    why not Apple pay?

  • Dammit, I always throw away my coles dockets with 4c/litre off voucher :(

    • +7

Not too late to look in the Coles carparks, empty trollies or even self serve checkout bins for the voucher.

      • +1

        oooh yeah.. a true binscab/ozbargainer.
        We've all been there :)

  • I got all of these on my Velocity Amex

  • Do these work with bank issued amex card?

    • +1

      No

  • anyone bought from harris farm online before? I worry about buying fruits/veg online because they might pick the fruit/veg based on reducing spoilage..
I was thinking about buying groceries.. Honey etc..
    any thoughts?

    • +1

I bought them long time a go, was pretty good. Bought like $100 of stuff, they picked the good items and the fruits and the meet was very yummy. Fresh/Quality.

Even got a free ice bag too!

      • yeah - i also hv couple of bags from the last amex offer.lol!

      • meet was very yummy

        did it taste like meat?

        • It was meet fresh

    • I buy sometimes. Especially good for Organic meat/fruit/Vegs/breads. Never had a problem with their produce. Several days have free delivery for min spend (?$80?) and, not sure, but I think free delivery for first online order. The main hassle that I have had is that I can only seem to get 7 - 10PM deliveries, and usually arrive even later.

      • Click and collect, I did it at the king x store

        • How did you manage that, Turd? KX is my local store but when I put in my postcode the pickup option is for Bondi Junction, not Potts Point.

        • @Ufens: weird, at the time bondi store didn't exist. So maybe that's why

        • @Turd: I emailed HFM, and "the online part of Potts Point store has been closed". Click and collect now has to be picked up at Bondi Junction (or Manly or Boronia Park).

        • @Ufens: ahhh cool cool. bondi is better to get to anyways, parking at Potts point was a pita.

    • +1

You can just by the Harris Farm Gift cards online and use it later. I have done it and you always get the rebate AMEX email straight away.**

(** At your own risk as AMEX does say exclude gift cards but always worked for me)

      • I found the gift card section. Do you know whether I can use their gift card in store ?

        • +1

Use the search function on the harris farm website.

      • +4

Anyone know if you can use online gift cards in store?

        • +1

I asked their chat support and they said it can only be used online

        • +2

What's with the neg vote? It's a legitimate question and I don't see a similar question earlier in the thread.

  • +1

Harris Farm only on my Explorer cards, not on Platinum Edge. How do you check bank issued these days? There's no login option anymore on AmEx Connect?

    • +1

If it's not on AmEx Connect then it's not available for bank issued.

  • Coles and David Jones only on my Explorer - really hoping to make use of the Android Pay offer

  • -4

Why not Samsung Pay? I refuse to use Android Pay…

  • Will filling up petrol ćpuny to the coles express minimum Spend? Or is it only for in store purchases such as milk and toilet paper ect.

    • Nothing to indicate it won't. I intend to buy fuel once I'm out, and prices aren't too extreme.

  • Got nothing on my Velocity Escape Card WHYYY

  • Got it on the main card, any way to save to the supplementary card?

    • Need to login with your supp card user details.

      • +1

No offer shows up under my supp card login unfortunately.

  • +2

Predictably the Coles Express offer is targeted at my Plat Reserve card, not the Plat Edge card I actually use. Still, it's 10 bucks to save on a Coles Myer gift card.

  • has anyone brought a coles group gift card and got the email from amex instantly and cashback for this offer yet, please report back asap?

    • +3

      Yes

    • Firstly, there is no gift card exclusion in the email. Secondly, there is no ability for the merchant to stop the credit going through, as all Amex are able to detect is that the transaction went through against the merchant. So once you've spent the required, the credit is triggered. I'm guessing the second has led to the first, whereby the merchants have given up trying to exclude gift cards in t's and c's, as they're always circumvented anyway.

  • Anyone tried the coles express offer at the Wynyard station store? Does it qualify?

    • +3

Yes i tried today at Coles opal recharge at Wynyard.
i did not get any offer redeemed email yet. Its been 5 hrs now.

Offer terms says coles express fuel locations only, so looks like will have to buy Gift cards now

      • Offer terms says coles express fuel locations only

        Thanks!

Always interesting to see how closely they enforce these terms.

  • +1

Nice. I've got 4 Amex Velocity Escape cards (same account), and 3 had the Coles offer when I logged in. One didn't, but it might be because that card doesn't have it's own log in, and instead is linked to my log in.
I'll be buying Coles gift cards, since I don't have a source of getting them at discount rates.
I'll continue buying petrol from Woolworths with 4c off vouchers and 5% discounted eGift cards.

  • +3

Harris Farm: "Save 5% off your order every time you shop within 7 days of your previous order. Just enter the code 'WEEKLY' in the discount code at the checkout."

  • Manual link yet? Not showing on my DJs Plat card :(

    • +1

It's targeted, so no manual link. I only got Android Pay offer. Better than nothing!

  • +5

Amex issued card. No Coles offer.
Amex online chat confirmed it's a targeted offer

    • Thanks for the confirmation. Quite annoying as Coles was the only one that didn't show up for me and I buy petrol there regularly.

  • Would buying coles gift cards qualify for both the usual 3 points per dollar spend plus the 2 bonus points? Anyone know from prior experience or similar??

Even without the bonus 2 reward points do normal coles gift card purchases attract the usual 3 points pet $1 return?

    • The 3 points per dollar (assuming Platinum Edge) is based on the merchant being a supermarket (Coles/Woolies etc). Doesn't matter what you buy, and I don't think Amex would ever know anyway. It's a well known trick to buy gift cards for other merchants at the supermarket for extra points (this is how I fund my Netflix).

      • The no fee EFTPOS gift cards around Chinese New Year were great for that…I had a blanket 2 point bonus on my Edge (due to some inactivity/using other cards)…5 points per dollar at places like Aldi, with no surcharge, effectively.

  • -1

I don't have android pay, what happen with apple pay!! I got the offer but useless

    • Microsoft pay?

  • With the coles offer do we have to calculate when using a fuel discount?

    • +2

Yep the Amex transaction needs to be $40 or more. But you can buy Coles Express gift cards for as little as $5 if you want to reach $40 transaction total. https://www.colesexpress.com.au/services/gift-card.aspx

      • To make it simple, just buy Coles & Myer Giftcard and you can spend it in Coles.

  • +1

I checked my fly buys account it had a 10 cent off fuel promo so i activated it used a 4 cent coles docket voucher then used my amex card to fill up $46 just now had a $10 wallet promo stacked it with this $10 coles express offer plus android pay double points offer so got 3 three emails straight after paying. makes the 132.9 cent per litre seem a little less expensive so happy days. didn't earn any fly buy points even though i scanned the card and got about $6 discounted. didn't know they make it optional 8 points or discount online. when did this come into effect and which is best to choose 8 points or 4 cents off if you already have a 4 cent voucher?

    • 8 points is better than the 4cents off

  • So, this Coles Express offer can be used for shell petrol station ?

    • +1

I assume that it would also have to be co-branded Coles Express.

  • +1

Saved the Coles offer to my Amex issued card. Purchased a $40 Coles Myer gift card at Coles Express about 2hrs later.
I normally get an email from Amex immediately with these type of offers but I have not received an email so far for this one.
Has anyone else received the confirmation email from Amex after spending at Coles Express?

    • Did you check your AMEX account 'Offers' - 'My Offers' - to see if it is showing as 'Redeemed' ?

    • +1

When registering for these within your Amex account you don't provide an email address so no email is sent on redemption (even though Amex clearly have your email). Also, takes a couple of days to show as "Redeemed" in the "Offers" section

      • I am not one to argue, but I got an Amex 'thankyou' email re: Harris Farm redemption. But I don't always get Amex emails when I redeem an offer. But it is still not showing up in my Amex account as redeemed and so you may be right there. :)

    • I also spent $40 on Coles Myer gift card, this is the first time I did not receive an 'Thank you' email from Amex.

    • +1

Did you use contactless payment? I find the emails don't come if I've used AndroidPay / PayPass / PayWave, although the credits still appear in my statement a few days later.

      • +1

I got an e-mail when I used the Android Pay offer today

      • I did use PayWave. It is not showing as Redeemed yet.
I'll just sit tight for a few days.

        • I received the $10 credit on my Amex account today - which is great.
No thank you email from Amex - which must be as puffinfresh suggested that you don't get an email with contactless payments like PayWave.

      • +1

I just bought a $40 gift card using Android pay and got the email straight away. Two emails in fact, one for the statement credit and one for using the Android pay offer.

    • Same with me. I did not receive any emails from AMEX as well after purchasing Coles Myer gift card from Coles Express.

  • Not on my David Jones cards :(

  • Does android pay work with grey market phones?

  • I noticed the following in T&Cs for Android Pay:
"Excludes payments not using Android Pay, e.g. Swipe and Chip and PIN payments."

I'm worried it might mean where you need to enter a PIN for Android Pay it will not count. This might happen if you tap too many transactions in a short period of time (like I do to get LC) or if the amount is over $100.

    Someone please confirm.

    • +1

Made a transaction for several hundred the other day and had to put my PIN in (as expected), points posted yesterday and bonus appeared today.

This was on a direct MR card, likely (but certainly not 100% seeing as they're technically different offers) the same for QF or VA cards.

  • I got the Coles Express offer for my card. The terms and conditions state "in store", so I would assume it means not an online transaction (which doesn't apply anyway, and doesn't mean spend $40 on items inside the shop and not fuel). Can someone confirm they have redeemed the offer with fuel only? I normally use my bank issued Amex which gets me more points than my direct issue Amex.

    • +1

I redeemed it for a gift card. It works no matter how you trigger the $40 spend.

      • +1

Same. Just make sure you save the offer before making the transaction… unlike me this morning on a supplementary. Going back this arvo for round 2 on that card.

        • +3

For next time, or for the benefit of others, I've forgotten to save Amex offers before and then saved it a short time after (maybe within 10 minutes). The credit still posted so there might be a grace period or an inability by Amex to time the transaction/saving of the offer correctly.

      • Can you nominate the amount to be loaded onto the gift card?

        • +1

It depends what cards they have, but at my local, yes. They only had blank cards, but I'm guessing some might have $20/50/100 cards.

        • +1

You bet you can - I've got 4 x $40 cards already… got 4 more supplementary cards to buy for yet too.

Easier to get multiple cards rather than trying to get the cashier to 'split payment' across 1 big card… some cashiers can get funny about doing that due to fraud/stolen cards, etc.

        • Thanks guys.

  • ooh, not targeted by the coles express offer :( only got the bonus points.

  • The Android pay one is awesome. I just bought some lunch and won a $5 coles voucher in the app lol

  • +1

my favourite truffle oil is out of stock at harris farm online noooooooo IT WAS THERE YESTERDAY I AM SO UPSET!!!! :((((

    • The stock-keeping on their website is bullshit. I ordered a raclette cheese once, and they sent me a totally different cheese (can't remember what, but totally different kind). When I complained, they told me that they'd substituted one for something similar in price because they didn't have the raclette in stock.

  • +2

Got my Android Pay bonus points today for my spending on Tuesday.

  • I received $10 statement credit today for coles spent on Tuesday, even I did not receive any 'Thanks for spending' email from Amex.

  • AMEX have removed their customer email system. Previously all you had to do is email and ask for any offer that you have seen and they add it to your card (I did mention this many times on OZB). Now they have a chat system, but the chat operator says they are not allowed to add offers via chat…boooo!

How do we now get offers that don't appear by themselves? Looks like the good ole days have ended. Anyone call and ask?

    • Manual link when lucky enough to find them.

  • Spent $136 Harris Farms online. Received an email from AMEX "Thank you for redeeming offer".
But then Harris Farms becomes Out of stock on some items. New total $98 (Refunded $38) Bummer!
Now I have the problem of "Do I make another order?" or "Do I just take a punt on AMEX not reversing the redemption?"
I deliberately over ordered to be sure, but obviously did not over order enough!
