    85.2% feedback rating. YMMV.

    • I bought directly from their website but not from eBay store. I was skeptical for my first purchase with them but turned out to be a good experience.

I would be less worried buying from them on ebay. But yes, feedback doesn't look that good.

    • Way too risky to buy such a pricey item from such a low feedback store.

  • warranty process? can you go directly to samsung for these grey imports?

    • Nope. Judging from some feedback id say you have no warranty or very little chance of getting it fixed under warranty.

A little bit more the for plus model @ $776……….

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Samsung-Galaxy-S8-Plus-G955FD-Dua…

I was looking at this for myself this morning.

  • Crazy to think this thing launched at $1200 just a few months ago.

    • Puts to end arguments about getting these on a plan imo. I look forward to them all complaining about breaking a contract for the 9 next year….

      • You're looking forward to that? Did you burn ants with a magnifying glass and the sun as a kid?

        • I guessed you signed up for a 24 month contract on a phone that's closing in on half price in a few months?

I, along with many others, suggested people to buy outright.

      • +1

Yea I agree. If you want big data, it's better to go sim only and get the phone for this price. Ends up cheaper over 24 months.

        • -1

Substantially, no idea why people insisted, they all drop in price, and this was a given with a Note 8 coming.

        • You're directly comparing Australian stock with 24 month warranty and local service to grey stock from an overseas eBay seller with substantial negative feedback?

With the exception of Apple, flagship phones from all manufacturer's can always be had for a lot cheaper only a few months after launch if you're happy to import. Samsung, LG, HTC, it's the same with each new release every year.

        • @aja12:

This hasn't been the only great deal on an S8 already.

And given you could quite feasibly buy 2 of these and 2*12 month sim only plans and still work out infront of most Plans, I'd say the Australian stock argument is well beaten.

        • -3

          @scuderiarmani: Argument? Ok, man.

        • +1

          @aja12:
$720 a phone, $300 odd for a Sim Only Plan on recent Kogan deals for instance, $1000 or so.

$90 a month, is a lovely $2160 over 2 years, which sounds like a better deal to you?

And in 12 months, sell the 8 for around $4-500, and put it towards a 9 if you so wished to further make the plan look terrible. The following year with the next model and a sim will likely be around $600, so $1600 or so for 2 years, and 2 phones. $500+ saving already.

        • +1

@aja12: Aussie stock S8 was $900 last week. Still saving money for that over 24 months.

        • -1

@OnlinePred: Never claimed plan was cheaper.

        • +1

@aja12: To be fair I just said it is cheaper to get a sim only and a phone outright. You then said I was comparing aus stock to grey import….. Not really sure what your angle is now.

        • @OnlinePred: All of my comments were directed toward scuderiarmani, not you.

        • @scuderiarmani: Well here's my real world figures.

          S8+ $69 a month with 4gb data (Woolworths Mobile), $1656 over 24 months.

          • $100 cash back with Cash Reward
          • Sold preorder bonus Gear VR for $120

So $1436 over 24 months, or $59.83 per month. Yes, I'm locked in a contract. I have local stock with 24 month Australian warranty. I live 15 minutes from a Samsung service centre. Hardly the worst deal in the world.

        • @aja12:

Fair enough, but you have 4gb data a month. Some of these big pre-paid plans had up to 14gb a month. If I quoted a plan at 4gb data a month, it'd be around $200 a year (I did 5gb for my mum from memory). So effectively $1100 for 2 12 month periods, no lock in, not as big saving, but still notable.

        • @scuderiarmani: If we're comparing the S8+, which is what I have, the cheapest its been is $768 for grey stock (awsome price) from Shop Monk.

So using your $200 a year prepaid plan (not sure what carrier thats with or inclusions), a $1168 cost over 2 years. A saving of $268 over 2 years.

The saving comes at the cost of having half the warranty length of Australian stock, warranty and after sales service handled by the seller who is overseas, no local Samsung support, no option of going to a local Samsung, cost of the handset required upfront. It's also not taking into the equation the inevitable early adopter tax that all tech products attract at launch.

I'm not saying one way is better than the other, I just didn't think that this was a fair comment…

Block-quote Puts to end arguments about getting these on a plan imo. I look forward to them all complaining about breaking a contract for the 9 next year….

        • @aja12:
You missed the key difference… You could buy a s9 the following year…

  • QD is the current mobile darling of Ozbargain. Maybe they can match this?

    • They have a lower price but not on the seller list. :(

  • where exactly is their service centre anyone know?
I got eBay app but dunno where to click to send seller message

  • buy black or Gray it's cheaper
