Finally received a targeted offer! The whole time I thought I had the right settings on my account, but didn't

    • +3

      what did you change?

      • One of the ebay posts had instructions, sorry you'll have to do a search for it

      • yeah what do I have to do?

  • +1

Sorry.. But Code is not working
Error: "Looks like that's the wrong code. Please double-check and try again." :(

    • Not sure what code you tried but when I clicked on the deal link, eBay showed the code as THANKYOU. That one didn't work. It's THANKYOU20 as per OP.

  • Any dea on Google home?

    • Yes, just ordered for $139 from HK after the $20 discount! According to the feedback, they send 'super fast' to Australia with DHL.

  • That's annoying. I bought a lot of stuff on eBay this month. Do i need to opt in somewhere to be eligible.

    • +5

It's targeted, you have to set your eBay account to accept promos and then pray to the eBay gods that you get emailed the offer.

      • Thanks mate, just made the change now in my account settings.

      • +1

You should also check that you have ticked the box to receive email promotions in your My eBay under the Account tab > Communication Preferences > Promotions and Surveys

        • i also had something sitting in my shopping cart but relunctant to purchase if that helps.

  • hahahah I just bought some stuff in eBay this morning. At least the coupon doesn't expire till August 10.

  • +1

    no joy here :/

    • Try drinking alcohol.

  • OMG for the first time, I've actually received one of these targeted deals :DD Thanks TA

  • I spend more on Ebay than the next guy, and I have received none of these targeted offers. Considering making a new account…

    • +1

This one is thank you for shopping with them.

After logged in to eBay can you see it on the home page?

    • Do you have your account preferences set to accept eBay promos, that's the only way to get targeted offers?

      • Not sure. I checked it said "timed out", but made sure it has been ticked now…let's see if it works.

      • Under the Account tab, General email Promotion needs to be ticked.
Is that what you are talking about?

        • +1

Yes, just be aware you'll get a lot of ad suggestions from eBay based on your browsing, but it's the only way to get targeted offers.

        • @Scab:
          Thanks.
I had the settings I just described on. I bought stuff in June and July. I receive a lot of emails with ad suggestions. Have never been targeted and this code is not working!

        • @Scab: Not necessarily true (in this case). I've turned off getting any general email Promotions and Surveys and I still got this "targeted" $20 off offer - was at the top of my Activity Summary page under the heading Vouchers.

        • @kiwigene:
It seems like something (within ebay) is not working properly or they randomly send targeted emails.

  • will buy xiaomi mi box if gearbite increases price from 99.95 to 100$ (Aus stock)

    • Code should work for "cart" purchases across multiple sellers. Just find the cheapest item you can over 5 cents for anywhere on eBay so the code is activated.

    • Add another item to cart, doesn't have to be from the same seller

    • Just add something else from another vendor to your basket valued at $0.01 or more and purchase as a block. That will work! You can purchase up to 10 items from different vendors in one buy to qualify. I did this to use the $75 offer recently.

  • +4

DIDNTGETSHIT working its mojo yet again

  • Sucks that I pulled the trigger earlier in the week on $100+ worth of eBay purchases with a measly 10% off.

  • +1

    Received email at 10am…
"Thanks for Shopping With us in Hump Month
Get $20 off when you spend $100 or more* on anything at eBay Use Code THANKYOU20
*Ends 10 August. Exclusions and T&Cs apply."

    🐤🐤🐤 Bought $2 of rubber ducks & got $20 discount - a good ROI 🐤🐤🐤

  • Not targeted, despite buying in hump month and having my preferences set right.

Probably for the best, i was just going to buy slabs of beer anyway.

  • Thanks, just used it!

  • Nope, which is funny considering the way they're putting it out as a thank you for shopping in hump month - I bought heaps of stuff I don't need!

    Still…probably don't need any more…but there's just this one last thing…

  • +2

Didn't get the code. Thinking of raising a dispute on ebay :)

    1. Go to the Resolution Centre.
    2. Choose "I haven't received it yet"
    3. Click on "Continue" and sign in.
    4. Click on the item which you have a problem with and click "Open case".
    • Have to attached to a purchased item wouldn't it?
I guess you were kidding so ignore comment if so.

  • -2

Why does every thing I want cost more than $100

    • +3

Good, so you can use this code.

  • -1

    Why I'm never targeted? :(

    • +2

Don't worry bro, you're not alone.

  • I just bought an iPad Pro from the Vaya eBay deal last night (using the PLAYER code for 20% off) - was just about to kick myself before I realised that you can't use multiple discount codes on a single purchase anyway :)

  • Yes. I received an email from eBay with the offer. I am finally targeted :)

  • You can also check under My eBay Summary and the Vouchers tab

  • -1

No surprise feeBay never THANKYOU their loyal customers

  • +1

got them on two of my really old ebay accounts (joined 10 years ago)

  • Whoa oh. Got this voucher. I have no idea what to buy.

Anyone know what's a good 45w usb-c laptop charger? And by that, I mean cheap that isn't going to destroy my laptop.

  • +1

I have 2 of these codes that I'm giving away for FREE. Please let me know if you're interested.

    • Isnt the code already in the post unless you have unique code. These codes are linked to your account I think and cannot be used by someone else.

      • Yeh, I'll be making the purchase on their behalf.

        • Seriously? How is that going to work?
It will be clear as a muddy puddle if other person does not show up for items or it is lost in shipping. Cant expect all good people here and bad in Scumtree.

        • @Gaggy:

Simple. Give me a list of what you want to buy, transfer me the $$, send me your details (use a free parcel locker if you're not comfortable giving me your address) and I then order the items on your behalf. I've done it multiple times and never had an issue.

        • @nurries: Haha. Pretty simple. Post charges will remove saving for that person.
Did you do it earlier here on OZB?

        • @Gaggy:

What do you mean by "Post charges will remove saving for that person."?

Yes, I've done it on OzB.

  • Cmon Bose QC35 for $250.

  • Yay, love being targeted and love spending money.

Bought another set of microphones for cheap, but they might cost me my marriage if the other half finds out. oops!

    Thanks TA!

    • +1

      seriously..
when did marriage become more important that eneloops and pistons

  • +3

OMG I was targeted after all this time! I finally know what it feels like! This is the greatest day of my life, better that my wedding and the births of my children.

  • Finally got a targeted offer and was actually eyeing off something that was pickup only. Shot the dude a PM, happy to post, bam!

  • -1

    I knew I wouldn't be targeted.

    • Must be not cute enough

  • anyone see good deals for 8gb ddr4 soddim Ram… would go well with my new Dell… cant really seem to find anything good ;(

  • I got targeted but have nothing specific to buy. :(

Is there any recommendation for a 8in tablet around $100 for watching videos?

  • +2

    not working for me.

    • +1

You can use COZZIE for 10%off, better than just 20off

      • ah shit too late!

      • Doesnt work for me.

  • THANKYOU20 code not working any more.
Tried different vendors and browsers - no go just "Looks like that's the wrong code. Please double-check and try again"

    • I used the code at around 1:00 am this morning and it worked fine.

  • Does this code work with Auctions?

  • How does one get targeted for these deals? Also how do you know if you are targeted?

  • +1

Does this stack with the good guys deal?

  • I got the email for the $20 off from ebay but I got this error message when applying the code: This code can't be applied to some of your items.

The item price in my cart is above $100 by the way.

    • (item cost only, postage not included).

      • Yes, item costs $117

    • Same error message for me. Item cost is $134 with free postage. I checked the T&C's and everything appears kosher except the code won't work (yes, I received it in my account).

  • Does this stack with other codes?

  • "We can't apply this code until you reach the minimum order total."

But my total is $111.98 not including shipping.

    • Any chance you're trying to buy something from the exclusions list? Check the T&Cs.

      E.g.:

Gift cards/certificates/vouchers are excluded from the use of the redemption code.
Not to be used in conjunction with any other eBay or PayPal coupon/voucher.

      • No, I've got three records and a power adaptor.
I've messaged eBay about this. Also when using the iOS app, my cart has a $20 voucher in it before I even add the code which also doesn't work.

  • Just tried using the code myself, told it's the wrong code.

  • Just got this http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/LINKSYS-SMART-WI-FI-ROUTER-WRT120… for $105. That super cheap!

  • Just got plantronic backbeat fit wireless sports headphone for AUD 85! not bad!!
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Plantronics-BackBeat-FIT-Wireless…

  • jsut want to confirm, if we are buying multiple items from different seller total is AUD 100 but one from different currency, it wont work, right?

    and i see this
You have more than one currency in your cart, so you'll complete checkout for each currency separately.

  • Worked like a dream, THANKYOUEBAY
