  • at sign up, "Please note: we need to tell you that there will be a delay in activating your service because your area is not yet connected to our national network - although it will be at around Unknown. We could connect you right now via a third party, but quite frankly we're not happy with third party services - which is why we're building our own network.
If you're happy to wait, you'll go straight onto our new network with all-Aussie tech support and extremely strong network control to avoid congestion and the dreaded "six PM slowdown". We'll be in touch when your service is ready to go live!"

pop down a new building estate in springvale 3171, not sure if i should proceed if i cant get nbn asap!? bit strange since I know of another house in the same street that is currently connected to MyRepublic.

Has this got anything to do with being on-net Poi vs off-net?

using the AUSBB checker, says I would be connected to the Wheelers Hill POI (which is currently Offnet) any advice?

    • Hi Enjoenjo

Are you able to PM me your address and I can see what the holdup might be?

      Cheers,

      • PM'd thanks

  • Hi Aussiebroadband,

NBN will be available within the next 2 months in my area. I signed up successfully with Aussiebroadband and received the confirmation email. Could you please confirm the following? Does this mean I may have to pay $300.00 if I am the first who connects NBN in my apartment building?

    Set-up fee:
There is no set-up fee for this service

    New development fee
The NBNCo may charge a $300 New Development Fee if you are the first connection in a newly developed area, OR
you are the first connection in an established area in the rare instance that a developer has increased the number of
dwellings on the same plot of land e.g. demolished a single house and built a block of units.
This fee may be charged regardless of existing infrastructure. Once the new development fee has been charged at an
address, it will not be charged again for subsequent connections, provided the number of dwellings at that address
    has not increased.

    • If you live in an apartment, it's very unlikely that you would pay for the cost of installation.

    • Hi Franconian,

I would recommend speaking with our sales team again by calling 1300 880 905 and they should be able to confirm this for you.

      Cheers,

  • going to be an extension on this deal?

    • Hi SBOB, we do have a few other coupons floating around on Ozbargain, this specific deal though has ended.

      • What are the other coupons i want to sign up? thanks

  • Tried signing up online. It doesn't like my address as 10a,but it's happy with 10. Filled in the form to have someone contact me, but that doesn't happen. Tried calling, but missed business hours. Wanted to use this deal if possible.

    • Hi run2dmax, did someone get in touch with you?

      Cheers,

      • I got a message today that I am eligible for NBN (no surprise) and I can call you. I will try and remember to call in my non-teaching hour in the morning.

Disappointed with their customer service. They don't respond to emails. Takes ages to get through on the phone, then they just blame the nbn. The nbn responded to ABB within an hour or two then ABB didn't even bother to contact me to ask the follow on questions.
No better, no worse than others.
