  • How's this compare to asus 68u?

    • I couldn't tell you how they perform, side by side, but the only real physical differences I can notice; The Asus has an extra USB port and the D-Link has a dedicated WAN port, instead of the usual LAN/WAN port combo.

Those reviews are for a different modem router, there aren't any product page reviews for this yet.

yeah i just tried to edit it out but you beat me
can anyone find a real review anywhere???

    • $175 discount, i'd like to see Officeworks kick and scream over that for a price match. They will probably claim that the stock at MSY is a grey import at a PC shop and so they won't price match. They will probably try some way to try get around it.

I've priced matched MSY at Officeworks before. Massive discount too from memory, think it was a $45 at OW and they matched MSY who were $15.

        • Not as much as like a huge discount like on these. A few hundred bucks off for two of them.

  • Any *positive reviews?

One 5 star user review on the Bing Lee site, but no other user reviews and no business reviews apparently. It's only been available for a few months I think, so I'm sure some will pop up… eventually.

  • BTw i think the productreview link is for a slightly different product…

  • The DSL-2885A model too is on sale at MSY and is $87 there. I think the only difference between that and this DSL-2888A model might be the AC1600 vs AC1200.

  • is the coverage enough for 2 storey house?

    • I'm sure office works will let you bring it back after you knock the price down to $99
So I recommend buying and testing
I am going to try to buy 2 tonight at officeworks

      • You could try. But i'm sure Officeworks will try and get around the $175 or so discount from compared to their normal $279 price by claiming that this price is a grey import at an unauthorised retailer. Either that or they may claim it's a clearance price. So you may have your chances against you there. You can't just assume that a price match at Officeworks is a sure deal. At this price it probably was a grey imports at MSY to begin with. I can't see how they could sell this at such a huge discount otherwise.

        • I'll give it my best shot if any stock available and I'm happy to send my receipt around to anyone

        • @thelastnoob:

Well it seems other people are getting theirs from OW for around $100 so you should be ok.

I just got it price matched at OW guildford NSW, $98.8. Not sure how to upload a photo.

  • How would this compare to my TP LINK WD8980 https://www.goodgearguide.com.au/review/tp-link/td-w8980_n60…

    Officeworks very happy
Price for 2 scanned to $558 reduced to under $200

    • That's over a $350 discount, pretty big. It just shows how much of a gigantic markup there are on these modem routers in the first place.

  • Thanks Op. Just got one from OW Northmead.

  • will try to grab one tomorrow. just need some one confirm i only need this thing to connect to nbn fttn?

    • It's a pity if the MSY sale is over tomorrow, if it was only for 1 day as in today!. And yes you only need this to connect to NBN FTTN, it's a VDSL2 modem which is what FTTN uses. It however doesn't support VoIP as it doesn't have phone ports on it so it only does data on FTTN unless you use a phone with its own VoIP functions. I personally use an older model D-Link DSL-2885A fine on iiNet FTTN so the DSL-2888A model should work fine. And i have a Cisco VoIP phone connected to it through an ethernet port which i use VoIP for with iiNet.

      • well, just finish work as ow is closed. let's see what happen tomorrow

      • managed grab one just from ow @$98.8, they did not ask too much. i heard from wp, msy will do this prom till monday. should be a lot of time for other people.
will try this out until my nbn got connected maybe in two months. hope this thing won't let me down. thanks op by the way.

        • Lucky you picked it up while you could this morning.

Not showing online any more. So much for it being until Monday. See what i mean how the deal could just disappear at any time.

        • @hollykryten: yes, that why i wake up early and feel sleepy now. lol. thanks for your advise too.

  • Thanks OP,just got it price matched at OW Minchibury NSW, $98.8 Still 5 available in store.

  • Thanks OP, got the last one at OW Wentworthville. The staff there was a bit hesitant but they had to verify the MSY price by going to their website and do a search for the product. Once the result came up, they price beat it.

  • does it support QoS?

Can anyone share RAM, Flash memory and CPU processor details.

  • Looks like its been removed from the website…

  • Damn this is no longer showing on the MSY site. I put one aside at officeworks to pick up at lunch but now I can't show the price to match.

    • Yeah. I guess you've got no literal proof of the price any more. Bit a bad luck there. Guess the early birds to pickup get the worms.

  • Managed to just pick one up from MSY Balcatta for $104 about 5 minutes ago. They said they have two left in stock.

    • So it's just the MSY VIC online store which is sold out of stock.
