D-Link Dual Band Wireless AC1750 Gigabit Cloud ADSL2+ Modem Router - Black - $105.95 Delivered (Was $205.70) @ Data Depot

60

Hi All,

We've got some clearance stock we need to move before end of month, so they've been dropped to $99 + $6.95 flat rate shipping.

Cheaper than the price Harvey Norman had in June
The next cheapest price I could find from a legit seller is $176.60 on Device Deal, so it's definitely an "OZ Bargain":

We buy direct from D-Link so all Australian warranties will be honoured.

Flat rate shipping will be $6.95 Australia wide, but it's free for orders over $150… all the more reason to buy 2!
No limit per customer.

Special price only available until 31st July 2017, or until stock runs out.

  • Pretty useless with NBN Co. ripping out ADSL and sticking in VDSL2 just about everywhere now.

    • Yes no one in their right mind buys an ADSL2+ only modem for NBN FTTN, this is why you should have got one of those D-Link DSL-2888A VDSL2 modem which MSY just sold for $104. Either that or the D-Link DSL-2885A VDSL2 model which TVSN has for $99.95 + delivery since MSY seems to be no longer offering the DSL-2888A model.

LOL. MSY just had this going for $74 yesterday.

Owned this modem. If it was free and you got a $99 cash back on it, I still would be hesitant to order it. It was absolute garbage. Coverage was garbage, uptime was garbage. Speed was garbage. Needed to be reset ever 12 to 24 hours. Would lock up and not respond. Had 2 replaced under warranty and gave up on the third. All of them were identical with issues.

This is a no deal based on it being a trash router as well as being a moot device now that NBN is rolling out…

    • Well, I have used the same modem router for 3 years and have not one issue at all. ;-)

      • I filled mine with ball bearings and resin and works flawlessly now as well, albeit as a door stop. Not one reboot and months of uptime holding a door open. Makes a great conversation starter. Would make a great boat anchor. Thought about converting it to a space heater, as it always ran at a temperature about 2 degrees less than that required to melt the plastic case it's mounted in. Network speed hasn't even been affected in any noticeable way, maybe a little bit slower, but it's hard to notice.

        • ;-)

    • My experience has been much better, you might have been unlucky… Has been up for over 100 days, speed is as good as any other AC1750 router, and coverage on both 2.4 and 5GHz bands is on par with the Archer D7 from experience. Only issue I've come across is with the onboard USB 3.0 port interfering with the 2.4GHz band.

    • Wonder if it may have been a firmware bug issue there which has long since been rectified. Or you could have had a dodgy power in your house.

Also this should be fine if you're on NBN FTTP. No go for FTTN.
