Use a throw-away email address, these guys are massive spammers…. I bought 2 keychain flashlights from them that I never received and they spammed me daily for weeks wanting me to review the items I never got…. They were no help with the items not received, I had to get a refund from Paypal…

true with spam. they never used to spam like they do now.

  • what's the pros of using adapter than the actual cable?

    • +4

if you already have a pile of micro usb cables.

      • -2

Never work as good as a proper one, wouldn't even be as good as a crap cheap cable.

        • "Something is better than nothing"

    • It's just a "mechanical" connection, no resistors etc, as USB3 has all the USB2 pins + extras. There will be a very slight increase in resistance but sfa so not noticeable unless you're already on the threshold.

  • Get these free at any Huawei stand in shopping centres.

  • Fwiw, I grabbed one of the cheapie adapters (2c or 3c sale), and the metal connector was longer than all my other adapters (very slightly longer, like 1mm), leaving some of it exposed when plugged in…when I went to disconnect the adapter, my (fat) fingers must have touched the connection, or gone too close, because I got a little shock / felt the tingle of getting too close to the sun…

I would strongly recommend Blitzwolf or Xiaomi adapters over non-branded cheapies like this. They aren't much more expensive, and I would rather be safe than sorry.

I cant comment on these particular adapters, and maybe these are fine…but personally, I wouldn't touch them. Buy at your own risk.

FWIW, this was the one that gave me a shock:

These are the other ones I have that work great:

    • I've just compared the ones I got from the previous sale about 5 weeks ago. they are about 1mm longer than my usual micro usb connector.

and when compared against a genuine lightning cable plug then the type-c adapter is less than 1mm longer than that - done for the sake of comparison/perspective

  • These are definitely not Benson Leung Approved adapters. Chances of them complying with the USB-C spec are around about zero, which means they have a non-zero chance of damaging either your ports or your attached hardware. Use with caution.
