    • So, sign up using my referral code, spend $50 on a task (only pay $25), and then add your referral code to OZB.

You'll have to hire me via AirTasker to sign up using your referral.

$25 for free.. not a bad gig.. :)

  • Airtasker is very good. It is a shame that they skim 15%, but there are ways to minimise this.

    • Yeah, I love airtasker! Great way to make extra $$ to blow on 'bargains' on this site!! :P

They include public liability insurance hence the fees.

      • It works OK? I always thought of it as people with ridiculously high expectations, either as a hirer wanting heaps of stuff done for cheap (ie "design & build me an ecommerce website inc. SEO for $200"), or people thinking they'll get paid builders/professional wages for relatively straight forward tasks.

Never found anything worth bidding on in terms of my interests, so figure I'll do some Uber Select driving on my midweek RDOs, it pays more than sitting at home playing Xbox.

        • I am no expert, but my observations are that listers tend to list low, and potential taskers usually offer higher. There are reviews for those who have used it. A good way to connect for later ongoing jobs - eg dog minding, and that is why I think taskers are prepared to cop a low price for an initial job. It could still be improved a lot though. EG. You cannot see what the final price was that a task went for. I find that it is much easier & cheaper than say 'Hire a Hubby' which is very expensive, and 'Hire a Hubby' tend to only be handy men too. The taskers don't get a lot for a lot of jobs, but if I get a good handyman for example, cheap, then I always say that I will add 'petrol money' if the task is completed well.

    • how?

  • How do you find your referral link if you're already a member?

        Thanks šŸ˜Š

  • oh no, used airtasker for the first time tonight and found this after I sign up.

  • I wonder what people actually use one for? So you set a price and task, and see if anyone up for it that's all? Does it go by hourly rate?

    • Join and do a test run. And read/follow some tasks.
You can post per job, per person (eg.you want 2 people for moving a king size bed) Or you can post per hour (I don't know how this one works for Airtasker 15% fee)
I post per job, but try to hint that if it takes longer than ? hours, then I will compensate. I want a good price, but I am not mercenary.
I would like to hear how others use it.

  • How to find my referrer code?

    • By reading others comments above that answer your question.

    • Ditto I can't find it either - when i ask to invite friends its just a generic sign up page.

    • "Your referral ID is contained within your public profile URL. For example, if your public profile URL is https://www.airtasker.com/users/XXXXXXX/, your referral ID is XXXXXXX."

Or people who genuinely want to try making a living :)

      • +1

Can you genuinely make a living from Airtasking? (Genuine question)

        • +1

That will depend 'completely' on your trades/abilities. I doubt that a dog walker would make a living out of it.
A good handyman with wide ranging skills could by establishing ongoing customers through Airtasker.
However it is not a bad way to make pocket money, or supplement your full time job.

      • If you genuinely want to make a living - and have skills to demonstrate - then you don't work for x when people are willing to pay 2x.

        • Sorry but that is just not accurate in many ways.

        • -1

No need to apologise..yet. But care to push the boat out and elaborate?

        • @Lps: Are you taking a 'Punt' ? :)

How to input the referral code after signing up?

    • This one is confusing to me too. I guess that you are not offered to use your code until you choose someone to do that task. I'll experiment this and come back to teol you if it is the case.

      • Okay, I verified. When you assigned your task to someone for the first time, you will be asked to give a credit card. When you saved your credit card information, and ready to pay, the sum to pay will be displayed in a dialogue box with a small line of text below it asking you for the coupon code.

    Thanks OP

Couldnt find any referral section in my account.
Can someone post link to the referral section to refer some one.

    • I can't find any referral section in my account either. There's nowhere for a referral code on the signup page either.

  • +2

I've signed up using a referral link but I can't see anything about the $25 - do I just post the task for $50 and it will show up when I pay?

    • Same here.

      • I went to pay for a task and they were gonna charge me full rate. I submitted a ticket. I hope mr tim-o-whatever gets his $25 as well. Dodgy stuff - help tickets are email and slow. Dodgy stuff. Don't like this.

        • Did you guys find the credit? I can't see it anywhere!

        • @Sydneyshopper17: I ended up having to open a case and wait for a couple days constantly hassling them to give me a coupon code to replace the referrer credit. I do not like airtasker one bit after that.

  • +1

    Cheers OP :)

  • Seeing as I already have an account I guess I can't use this promo.. although I could always just open a new account :D

    • Is this possible or is it linked to the PayPal acc?

      • I don't think you can use Paypal there.

  • Has anyone successfully received the $25 off? Has anyone successfully redeemed referral credits?

    • Yes I've received $70 so far in referrals

      • where do you find this???

        • Can't see it either. Did you find the credit?

  • I have used your code too. You should be getting some payment soon. Thanks

  • I can't see the $25 credit anywhere? Does it appear as I pay for my first task or after I've released the funds for the first task?

    • When I went to pay for my first task it tried to charge me full rate. I opened up a case and they said they were looking into it. Kept saying that and I told them they were being ridiculous and I just wanted my credits. They gave me a coupon code in the end for $25 on min spend $50 - same as the referrer deal. I told them I hoped my referrer was going to get credit and they said they were looking into it. I'd wager the referee never got credit. Dodgy business here.

Word of Warning! Not sure if this is still active but just got a new offer email from them.
Stay away from Airtasker for removalists. Absolute Nightmare. Had 2 cancel, two days in a row. If it's something small, not time sensitive and it's a local person looking to earn a few extra bucks it's fine but there are plenty of dodgy operators on there masquerading as proffesionals. You can't leave a bad review if they cancel and Airtasker will hold on to your money for a week afterwards. If you fancy the idea of being left hanging and out of pocket for two removalists and have to pay a third. Enjoy!

    • +1

airtaskers are notoriously late. rarely have one come on time. often had them cancel on me or defer to a later date.
the main drawback is when they don't show up you don't pay them, however you can't even leave feedback for what a terrible waste of time they have been.

  • Thanks guys. Still working. ADI-p sent you some $$$

  • If anyone has a referral code, please do PM me. Looking to get a home theater set up today or tomorrow.
edit: nevermind, I got a random referral code form above.

Signed up using the random pool - enjoy your $$ Issac W :)

  • Thank you - just used a random code

    Cheers Jin C

  • signed up but not sure where to enter the coupon

  • Just created a referral code. Where should I be posting it so people can access?
Alternatively, Iā€™m happy to post here if people would like me to.

  • I just did a hire on Airtasker for $103. It is not my first use of Airtasker. I thought that they take their fee out of the final price accepted. However this time they also charged me a $10 booking fee. Not that it will break the bank, but I don't recall such fees being levied before.

  • This is ridiculous.. they make you hunt them down for $25 credit that they advertise everywhere…
