PayPal just showed as 12c AUD instead of 13c!

    • +4

      A true ozbargainer, you are.

      • +2

Just a millennial saving up for a deposit 1c at a time (while spending 12c)

    • Towel81 only took 10c off per cloth for me.

Am I reading it correctly assuming it will make it 13c from $1.25?

      • This code apply for only 1 towel.

      • You only get the discount price for one cloth.

    • mine too

  • wonder if this can make a good travel towel or is it too small?

    • +5

      It's for washing cars.

      • I see - clearly too big to travel with then

      • +1

Really why not? It is Microfiber towel. Just because the marketing is for washing cars, does not mean it can't be use as a travel towel…

      • Yikes, unless it's being used in combination with many other MF towels, a dedicated rinseless wash concentrate and appropriate two-bucket system, a MF towel should never be used for first-stage hand washing!

    • MF towels - the magic properties of which are polyester and polyamide - make excellent dusting cloths and are highly hydrophobic. Their long piles also make for a larger surface area than your average cloth allowing for extensive general cleaning of grime. They're more than versatile enough for 'travel' duties - just never wash them above 40c (preferably always in cold water).

      • +2

What happens above 40c? Do they turn into gremlins?

    Dont forget Cash Rewards!

  • Whats the difference between mi5 and mi5s?

    • +1

      An S…

I have Mi5 from last-year deal. good phone, smooth, one day battery life for heavy use. Used a few custom ROM, but finally go back to MIUI Global Dev with weekly OTA. Seems getting MIUI 9 this month?

better use express, DHL or other fast shipping. last year I used the free shipping option. It took only a few days from CN to AUS, but then stuck with aus post for quite a while. after some phone calls and long waiting, finally got delivered.

    • Believe the "s" has a miles better camera

  • +2

Mi5s is newer (SD821 vs SD820) and supposed to have a better camera for low light.
Mi5 is more mainstream and has alternative ROM support (Linage OS etc).

I'm waiting for another Mi5 deal. Don't wanna be stuck with Xiaomi ROM (MIU)

    • So is the mi5 a better deal (upgrading from aging s5)

    • +1

Mi5s had lineage support, code named capricorn

      • In that case then Mi5s is probably the better deal.
Generally, the Mi5 is about $40 cheaper than Mi5s

      • +1

Mi5S (capricorn) build is less than a month old, so there are a few niggles to do with battery life, camera and fingerprint reader reported on the XDA forums. Hopefully these will get fixed.

    • Cheers bought rose gold for 310 (DHL) shipped, do i need to do anything to prepare the phone like root or flash rom?

      Thanks

      • Personal questions, do you feel the rose gold colour is tacky? or looks normal IRL?

        • It depends on what light shines on the phone, if it is more of a bluey or white light, it looks like a silver colour, in warm light, a bit gold, but imo its looks fine, if ur bothered by looks get a case

    • One thing to note is that while the Mi5 has gorilla glass, the Mi5s has a generic glass. This could mean that the screen is more likely to crack.

      • Not sure, I think people say it has dragontrail glass, which is a GG competitor

    • I caved and ordered the Mi5s for the wife.
While the camera sensor is supposed to be awesome it seems the Mi5 has OIS while the Mi5s doesn't…..

      • I wonder why this price is only for the rose gold colour :(
I really wish the deal could be for silver.

  • Can't order more than one towel. But still ordered one at $.12

    Thank you

Bingo! That's Mum's Christmas present sorted.

And that's probably when it will arrive.

  • Is the Lenovo HW01 Smart Wristband any good?

    • I'm trying to find this as well.
It looks like it has decent reviews (4/5 stars), but recently warnings about updating the firmware causing problems…

      • I can, so far, see 2 downside:
        (1) not water-proof (only splash-proof - and might get water damaged if the "splash" is too heavy, say when washing your hands)
        (2) only track steps but not any other type of exercises

    • I've had really bad experiences with Lenovo and the customer service was dire, $3000 down the drain!

  • I thought Gearbest doesn't ship power bank to Australia.

  • Ordered a Towel for 0.12, thanks OP.

  • Code expired for the towel

    • I'm getting…

      FIXED PRICE Coupon: $0.1
Code for single unit price only; VIP Price, Special Offer or Group Deal all exempt.

And the price does not change.

    • The code just worked for me. Paid 12c for the towel.

      • Doesn't work for me, says "The Code you entered has expired.Code for single unit price only; VIP Price, Special Offer or Group Deal all exempt. "

    • expired for me too.

  • The power bank Original Xiaomi Ultra-thin 10000mAh Mobile Power Bank 2(gearbest.com) AU$18.94/US$14.73 thin731
    comes down to US$9.99 too.

    • No free shipping option for me… only had 6 AUD

    • +4.73 for priority shipping.

      • I don't get that option. I only have

Priority Line (Australia Express) 7-15 business days - AU$6.00

  • towel code not working
    ozbargained?
    Any hope for more OP?

  • Towel code expired ,😔

    • Lucky for you. I wouldn't take them off their hands if they were free

  • Towel code expired when I tried at 4:30PM. This is not the first time with GearBest in ozbargain. Promotion period is too short for all to enjoy.

  • I'm getting "The Code you entered has expired. Code for single unit price only; VIP Price, Special Offer or Group Deal all exempt. " when using the towel code for 1 towel.

  • Was going to buy a wristband along with the towel but towel code doesn't work - turned me off buying the wristband :p

A mircofibre paint towel should have:
    - a blend of 70% Polyester / 30% Polyamide or at least 80/20
    - Ultrasonic edgeless border or 2nd best options are have a microfibre or satin edging
    - Split weave with a deep pile as high quality waffle weave is the 2nd best option
    - A GSM of at least 350

    This towel is:
    - At least a 90/10 and maybe higher blend. (Good at pushing water but don't expect it to absorb much. Will feel stiff to the touch)
    - a cross stitched border (covers the bad cut and will not maintain its shape)
    - has a terry weave with no where for the dirt to get trapped (you will drag any left behind dirt across your soft clearcoat)
    - Impossible for me to guess but no where near higher enough

A quality towel may cost more but it they can last 100's of washes. They also won't induce scratching and marring. Therefore save you big money in having the damage repaired. I wouldn't even use these towels for wheels or interiors. For these jobs I recommending using the Costco microfibre towels which work out to be less than $1 each. They look 10x the quality of these and still cheap enough for me to use as throw away towels. I don't use these Costco towels on paint either.

    • +1

A mircofibre paint towel should have:

nobody will make me feel like I wasted 12 cents. Nobody!
      :)

PS. I'll need a Visitor Pass to visit Costco. No thanks.

      • nobody will make me feel like I wasted 12 cents. Nobody!

I'm not trying to save anyone 12 cents. I'm trying to save them hundreds and possibly thousands. Enjoy your towel, your cars delicate clear coat won't.

    • Can you recommend a good quality towel for those of us without a Costco?

      • +3

I have been using Costco towels for non-paint jobs for so long now it is difficult to make recommendations. Many of these cheaper generic towels are very similar and there will be little difference. You would want a 80/20 or preferably a 90/10 blend for cleaning jobs. If the towel can't tell you the blend, it's probably best avoiding. No matter the towel there is no real need to spend more than $1/towel

For paint towels you will need to spend more. Korean microfibre is best. A decent 40x40cm spray wax towel would cost between $8-15. While a larger 50x100cm drying towel may cost $20-30

Best place to check is the reputable detailing stores like ZAS, Wax-it, Car Care Products and more. If I know what state your in I might be able to narrow down suggestions down a little more. If your in Adelaide I can help directly

      • +3

The Costco cloths are also good with kids for cleaning faces, vomit etc. Bright yellow makes them ready to distinguish from the white terry toweling we use for cleaning up messes that come from the other end.

  • thin731 code is invalid

    • thin731 still work for 30 more times, pls log in first and apply one unit.

      • That correct, I wasn't logged in. After I logged in the code worked fine. Thanks Rep!

Damn those towels would of been nice

Have course they would of :)

OP, can you recommend a ZigBee gateway to use with the temperature sensor? If so, any deals or codes? Any chance of a package deal that includes both?

  • Are the Lenovo bands actually made by Lenovo? I can't find any reference on any of Lenovo's sites, and it seems to be made by a company called DeSay (who also make Purifit).

  • +2

Just received mine today and gotta say they are the worst microfiber towels ever! Super thin you can see through them and not very soft so can't use them to dry things

    :/

  • I have a Cube tablet - overheats, poor battery life and faulty touch screen. 11 months now and still no refund

    • Could you pls pm me your order number for checking?

      • Sorry, just double checked and it was an ebay purchase from a store called ibargainexpert not gear best. My bad

Still doesn't mean I don't have concerns over the product

  • Purchased a Mi5s roughly 9 Months ago. Loved it until the camera died 4 Months into having it (has 2 cameras colour and BW). Only the BW camera would work. Sent it back. Was advised nothing could be done even though under warranty. Was told could not have phone back. Offered partial refund. Avoiding them like the plague now.

    • Could you pls pm me order number for checking?

      • W1611182203080053

      • If you would like to refund me the full amount of the purchase price as opposed to the low ball offer I got that would be great. The fact it was not covered under warranty and no explanation provided was enough to make me dodge the brand for the rest of time.

        • I have informed Megan to check for you.

        • @gearbest: Good to hear. I look forward to hearing the outcome

  • Got the microfibre towel but I am very disappointed at how thin it is even @ $0.12.
