80's fashion has come back for 2016/17 but I think it out of favour again, maybe why they are discounted.
I have no idea how Timberland stores are going to survive once a trend is over.

Don't think so, I see heaps of young people wearing timberlands as casual shoes now, not just tradesmen…

      • That's what I mean fashion, it was an 80s fashion item (from musicians mainly) that's come back to life but it is fading quickly as the r'n'b and rapper types aren't wearing them anymore.

I don't think Timbs are fading, at least not anytime soon. I have 9 pairs and my brother has about 7-8. Also, like placard said, people just wear them casually.

        • @tags:

Certainly does seem to be still a trend in their footwear for casual wear.

9 pairs - wow, are they different colours? Are they your main shoes or do you have 8 pairs of other shoes too? :p

        • @placard: Yeah all different colours/styles. Yeah they're pretty much my main shoes haha. Outside of my work shoes I pretty much wear Timbs exclusively. I do have a a couple basic Pumas that I'll wear when Timbs might be an inappropriate choice but that's about it.

        • @Kikkoman56: Haha pretty much. I can't believe I don't remember this episode though. Might be due for a series rewatch I'd say.

I don't think that will be a problem, Justin has a lot of money.

People buy these either thinking they may be good for rugged activity or may look good in bad weather.

Ironic that they use nubuck. It looks very different after they've been wet (permanent surface texture changes). They are just a poor choice of material for a boot.

Buy these if you fancy woolen umbrellas.

    Love my Timberlands.

If buying online, careful with the sizing. I bought mine from the Timberland store in the city (Melbourne). Size US11 normally, yet I fit a US9.5 Timbs. Snug comfy fit, you don't want them too loose or tight.

    • Definitely watch the sizing. I didn't realise this and went true to size. They were okay to start with but now that I've worn them in they've become pretty loose. I'm gonna have to start wearing two pairs of socks

hmm yet I bought a 9 when I'm usually 10.5 and my God they were the worst boot I have ever worn in… They are a bit better now and dont rub my ankle but probably the worst advice I read online was going down a size. Just measure your foot (in cm) and check it against their sizing chart. The boots rubbed my ankle so much it created blisters that were full of liquid…

So maybe just go try them on in a physical store first because if there is one thing I have learned from online customer reviews is 99% of them are rubbish since the consumer doesnt use the product enough, understand the product, etc… Also to the lady who nearly made me not buy my current fridge because she said the door would come open… you were wrong just learn how to close a f**kin door so I dont nearly miss out on a great deal.

Also some come in W… Which fit me way better than the regular D…
Which makes me sound like Eazy E…

      Source of your info ??

I'd have to say your statement is incorrect. There may be cases of where one of their suppliers has given them counterfeit items but it is an uncommon issue that occurs. The major issue people have found with their items are the grey import items of which clothing is included. Some of these aren't intended to be sold on the Australian market as the quality standards don't meet our markets expectations. That being said, they are still genuine items.
As for these boots, I don't think they'd be any different to the ones available here through the normal sellers.

  • I'm looking for a good deal for a formal boot. RM Williams is too pricey without a deal..

Do you have any recommended brands?

    • Google cowboy boots Australia .
Their are some supringly affordable options for leather boots in all kinds of different styles

  • damn dude whats your problem?

Why am I buying these shoes?

  • Is there any way to get a proper measure for us sizes? Would hate for these not to fit right.

    • Probably go into the store to try them out

      • Oh they sell them in US sizes in stores here? that's a great idea, I'll do that.

      • Go to a culture kings and try them out. Lots to choose from. Check for length and width.
