Too much money (for a Huawei phone).

    • You are right, waiting for next 20% off code.

      • +1

Not sure many people would be tempted even after 50% discount

        • +2

I think the 10-12 million that bought the P9s might disagree with you :) Similar forecast if not higher for the p10s too

Isnt it the 3rd biggest mobile seller in the world or something like that ?

          @tariqsaleem:

The Chinese market most likely took up a big chunk in your figures. Not saying their phones aren't good or anything, but the brand value just isn't there (at least in most countries outside China).

In Australia I've been seeing their kiosks closing down, I'd imagine most likely because of lack of interest from the customers walking pass.

And I find their software terrible.

          @tariqsaleem:

Because you can get a OnePlus 5 without the bloatware, 8Gb/128gb for less.

        • @clse945111:

From what ive read, they are not big in US yet but quite big in Europe and not just China. Few of the European coutries it actually rates as the 2nd highest selling phone brand

        • @tariqsaleem:

I have mate 9 pro. Best phone I've ever had. Tips apart my old Samsung s6 which Samsung Australia refused to Repair.

        • @djcharliek:

I have the mate 9 on meat the moment, havent tried the mate 9 pro. you reckon its better then p10 plus. I am currently thinking of getting the p10 plus or the U11, might just have a look at the Mate 9 pro too

        • @tariqsaleem:

YeAh p10 plus is very similar. I can't remember why I went for mate 9 pro. Probably higher res bigger battery and bigger screen

Seems like they have gone "Leica" cameras +$200

    • and compare to Apple that is less than 6gb ram for $1419?

    • iphone is not that much more expensive. so if you have too much money for this phone then you have too much money for most other phones…

  • +1

Mate 9 is cheaper with Leica camera if you don't mind the size.

    • +3

This has a better optimized camera with the 1.8 aperture though.

And a quad Hd screen too

and even though I prefer the finger scanner at the back, this has it at the front for anyone who is fussed about that

    • +1

They're not Leica cameras, they are Leica OPTIMISED. No hardware in that phone is from Leica.

      • I know that was said initially when the p9 came out but here is the official word from Huawei on that.

"The P9 and P9 Plus were co-engineered between Huawei and Leica. This is the first collaboration betw"een the two companies following a long-term partnership that was announced in February. From the very beginning, Leica has been deeply involved in the development of these devices. There has been significant technological collaboration between Huawei and Leica around many aspects of the camera, including optical design, imaging quality, image data processing, optimization, and the mechanical construction of the camera module to the graphic user interface. The devices meet Leica’s highest imaging quality standards."

        • Thanks, this means they are not Leica cameras.

  • +1

It seems no one know its ram issue.

Huawei is not bad, but no P10

If its $350 definitely worthy buying, but for over $700….

    • +2

There are some phones with price like 350, but don't expect them to be the same as $700+ phones.

  • Bought a huawei mate 9 pro 6g/128g a couple of months ago, very happy with it. It is better than my wife's iphone 7.

    • -4

It is better than my wife

      XDD

    • Mate 9 is a beast of a phone, the battery life on that is just amazing
