    Thanks OP.

I have Australian Beef Rump Steak
    Australian Grown $11.99 kg
in their catalogue for my area.

  • Bulls Eye!
    great deal

  • I just saw the ad on TV $14.99 kg for porterhouse steak, my catalogue says $10.99 kg. Either way it is great price and will have to get some tomorrow.

  • Is this in SA too?

  • My normal price at my local (although they aren't IGA anymore they are even more independent than that lol) is normally $12.99kg or on occasion $12.50kg.

Looks like this is a good deal for everyone else though?

  • OP - this is region or IGA store group specific deal - so show where in Australia this is availablešŸ˜
    Basic posting guideline.
    Not available at my IGA.

      • Could tell from catalog. We don't allow alcohol sales in supermarkets up here ;-)
Just should be stated in deal title.

fyi, i have seen 'budget porterhouse steak' before. I got no idea what cut it is/where the (profanity) on the cow they take 'budget porterhouse' from, but its rough as hell.

Good for stewing and nothing more. So have a good look at that steak before buying.

Steaks from old cows (e.g. dairy cows put out to pasture) are often labelled as 'budget' or 'economy'.

This article - It's just old cow meat by another name explains the labelling, i.e. the true meaning of 'budget' as a measure of age and not just price.

Having said that, when on special, the IGA budget cuts can still be good bargains.

So the beef is "aged" as well as budget. Sensational

  • My local is porterhouse for $13.99. Wtf IGA?
