  • i got my new card today along with a welcome pack. But none of them says about the 75k points or even 1st year annual fee waiver. Is that normal?.

    • That's normal. They do not charge 1st year annual fee of 1st of statement, it mean 1st year annual fee waiver.
After you meet spend $2500, you can see points bonus in "Reward Points" in Internet-Banking.

      • thanks

  • Anyone know how long after the welcome pack arrives the lounge passes show up? Or do you need to request them online?

    • +1

you need to call 1300 580 765 for the pass, mine is not in their system for about 4+ days now.

      • Thanks, so you dont have to wait 30 days or anything, you can just call up and request the passes?

        • +1

I ordered mine today. The guy on the phone said that they will be delivered within 5-10 business days.

I received and activated my card yesterday - so no wait period required.

  • does anyone know until when is the offer ?

  • Question for the card cancellers.

Can I spend $2500 on the first week and then wait for points to clear then cancel right away within first month? So I can be ready again to apply in 11months time ??

    • I have been told many different things by their call centre staff which were correct.

One of them was correct. I received my bonus points on the date that of the 4th monthly statement.

    • Yes I did this last year and they just now approved my new one this year!
Points can take 1-3 months to show up in your frequent flyer account after the minimum spend is reached.

  • Is there an easy way to find out the exact date I previously cancelled this card? Or do I need to call up ANZ.

  • Also…..Has anyone tried to call up and ask them to waive the consecutive years annual fee?
Or ask them for maybe 75k QFF points to have you stay on the card?

I ask for 22k points for DJ Amex annual renewal ($99 fee paid)…..Thought this might happen with ANZ.

  • My QFF year ends at the end of this month (September) and I'm 45 status credits short of retaining gold :-/

If I applied for this card today, was accepted, and managed to take a return flight (10 status credits each way) before the end of September, does anyone know for sure that the 75 status credits would post in time?

    • Answering own question:

      From: https://www.anz.com.au/personal/credit-cards/frequent-flyer/

"Bonus Status Credits could take up to 10 weeks after travel to be credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account. Bonus Status Credits will not contribute towards attaining or retaining Platinum One or Loyalty Bonus."

Probably not gonna take the risk.

    • I booked a return qantas flight for december and received my bonus 75 status credits within a week of making the booking. I found this odd, I wonder if i could just book fully flex tickets and cancel them. I actually wanted them to come through next year to make retaining gold a bit easier… oh well.

  • Can anyone give me some advice… I have recently got an ANZ Frequent Flyer Black card but my girlfriend only earns about $65,000. Can she apply as a de facto relationship and use both our incomes to get approved so we can double our points? or would it not be allowed as I already have an anz card?
any advice would be appreciated :)

  • got rejected by anz but approved by amex qantas ultimate.

    baffles me

  • Offer extended. *Min. spend $2,500 within first 3 months applies. ^ Buy and fly return with Qantas by 28 February 2018. Eligibility criteria, T&Cs, fees and charges apply.

  • Just a warning to anyone who is applying. The bonus feature of allowing lounge access through Velocee is absolutely useless. I have tried at 3 lounges so far and received 3 different excuses. Almost false advertising… (being dramatic).
