Totally agree. Most Xiaomi phones are cheaper than this with an IR blaster. Would get that instead
Actually, the deal includes the Harmony Hub, which should probably be mentioned in the description. The Harmony Hub makes home automation possible with the remote.
I imagine the appeal of this would be for things to be able to be controlled by remote instead of phone, probably to accommodate kids, or guests.
For most people, that could be replaced with a low-end phone to be used as a dedicated remote. They each have their trade-offs though. The Harmony allows for more control over some devices, like say gaming consoles, which a phone cannot, but a phone would have more compatibility with most smart home devices.

I agree the harmony hub is actually a good device (subpar software not withstanding) but it can be had for a lot cheaper without this ridiculously priced remote.
You could even pair it with an amazon dot and not only have a better experience (imo) but also save a lot of money.

The best Harmony remote yet. I bought 2 from Dick Smith at 50% off before they went belly up.
I hesitated on that deal then kicked myself for not pulling the trigger in time.
Now I refuse to pay more than $199 and so I wait…
I've decided on willing to compromise. $215
while the deal may be good, this remote just does not seem reasonably priced. I don't see why it costs as much as a low-end phone when it can perform only a subset of the tasks and uses less hardware.
