The post you saw, was only them gathering feedback for a potential sale/promotion. The promotion hasn't yet to officially start.

    • I'm rush to get a new pc, and the staff in store was inpatient to answer my question.

It seems like you were the impatient one, not the store.

  • Compare to eBay 20% off tech, I could have save another 10% !!! (after price hike on ebay for R7 1600, mobo & memory). Looks like the discount only applies if you purchase the entire system from MSY, you probably end up spending more if you are looking at upgrade.

  • Anyone in Clayton want to divide up parts? I want in on this deal but don't need the SSD, case and maybe the PSU.

    • If you're getting a new MB then you should at least look at getting one of the new PCIe SSD cards.

      • I already have the things I don't need.

    • Im in need the following:
      Obsidian CC750D Black (Airflow) $189
      16G Kit (8Gx2) 3200 Corsair Vengeance LPX $215
      Samsung 850 PRO 512G/1TB $309
not sure about psu as I might need one. (not sure if old one is dead)

If anyone else is interested I from around clayton need the above x2

      • You can get the ram, ssd and case on my order as I'm either not getting them or you're allowed more than one (ram). But we need a PSU as they won't give us the discount without the full build.

        • Corsair 80+ Platinum HX750i $214 pm with my number sent

  • so is this based off the part list they have on their website?

  • What about for those of us who don't have a MSY nearby, I want a new system but would need the parts shipped.

  • Would be tempted to pull the trigger, but got a GPU from MSY 12 months ago
Looking to upgrade the rest of the rig but feels bad to miss out on the discount for getting a GPU before the price boom… Guess I will keep holding off since I can't take advantage of this without going Intel :(

    • **Note: If you purchase the CPU with onboard graphic, no need to purchase dedicated GPU
If you purchase case that comes with built-in PSU, no need to purchase another PSU

I understand that, but I'm looking at a Ryzen 1700
Endorsing building a dream PC, then having to settle for undesirable parts seems to be against the spirit here.

        • The rep said on the first page you don't have to buy a GPU if you buy a mobo with any display output (vga/dvi/hdmi), so literally every mobo out there.

I'm in the same situation as you, I haven't picked up my parts yet to confirm that I will indeed receive the discount without the gpu, but that is what the rep said

        • @portard:
Yeah, that's every AM4 motherboard - nice if it works that way

I refuse to buy from MSY any more on principle. The way they have refused to honour warranties on numerous occasions is disgraceful and I will not deal with such an unethical business.

    • +2

To be honest, we have improveed alot alot in term of the warranty system and everything is much better or equal to the industry standard. If you have any issue with your warranty and the staffs cannot help you out instore, shoot us an email to [email protected] and we can look into your case for you.

They got fined 200k by ACCC for this exact reason, so I believe they have cleaned up their act now

Although from personal experience, even before the ACCC fine I still received great service and had warranty honored at Clayton store. Can't speak for other stores though

      • Clayton has always been great for me. That's why I definitely go there (or Scorptec) and not crooked CPL.

  • What's the process to take advantage of this deal?
Grab a list of available parts from current website, go queue up in the store during the promotional period and buy over the counter?
Or can you order online first?

  • all am4 350ab atx boards out of stock in SA lol

Maybe we can pool items together to get to the full list base on store location.

e.g. I'm open for any Brisbane Store, and currently looking to buy CPU, mobo, ram, case and a fan. So I need someone who's interested in buying harddisk, graphics card, and a PSU.

    Any taker?

    • Which Brisbane store will you be visiting? I'm nearby the Slacks Creek one, but I'm only interested in PSU, HD, Ram, cpu cooler. Not that interested in their graphics cards to be honest.

      • I work close to brendale and I live close to Slacks Creek. If needed be, I can go to slacks creek on Thursday afternoon. But we would still need someone to get a graphics card though…

        • If your cpu has onboard graphics youre fine.

        • Well in that case, I'm planning on going in the morning since they have low stock in the items I'm after.

I'll have to see if anyone else there wants to split.. otherwise I might have to buy a whole system.. which I don't really want lol.

        • @ChoiceScarf: well, if you ARE going to buy a whole system, and don't need all the parts (case, ram…etc), I would love to buy it off you. Shoot me a pm if you are interested. Thanks.

        • Sent you a pm so we can talk about this.

  • My dream pc will be a pc with an Overclocked Atom(potato) to 7ghz to play CS on max settings if that's even possible

  • Hoping to pickup a full Ryzen 1700 system tomorrow in WA.

Can anyone advise where I may have better luck with stock on a full system - Balcatta or Cannington?

Website stock levels have me really worried but going to give one store a try tomorrow.

    • +1

Balcatta have most of the stock. Talk to the boys in Balcatta and I am pretty sure they can do something for you

  • Can my dream PC be a basic box that i can use as a budget server?

  • Anyone going to North Melbourne MSY ? I just need a GPU, RAM and a router, can club up. PM me, goinf after 4-30PM today

Wondering if anyone has a good experience with this deal so far?

    • +2

Clayton didn't have stock of my g.Skill GRB ram 8x2 or h110i. They literally only had one set of that ram which was sold to the guy in front of me.

      • The driver failed to delivery stock to some of the VIC branches yesterday. However, more stocks coming today and tomorrow. Really sorry about that

        • Can she still get part once stock is in. She was one of the first in store today. Waiting since 9am at clayton

Went in at 10:15 queued up 7th in line and was out with a base set of parts for a low cost Ryzen build before 11. I got all the parts I was looking for and at least the staff member that served me knew exactly what the terms and requirements were (Name/email/phone as well as integrated board or case with/without PSU is fine).

Of note I noticed their system already has the 15% bundle flag ready to go, but I didn't get to test their 10% off additional deals (I didn't buy any extra peripherals).

Impressively as well is the fact that its 15% off and rounded down to the nearest dollar, so it shaved a few extra dollars off my initial estimate.

15% off already what would be the lowest shopped around cost is a pretty decent bargain, just find a store that isn't a queue-fest out the door and research your parts to ensure they are at least in stock.

      • They were all in stock before I went in. It just happened to only be 1, as we can't tell the specific number. Either way I got what I needed as another ozbargainer took up the parts I didn't get.

  • Anyone can add a ssd to their purchase (or maybe also buy the case and psu? I'm in Vic

    Pls pm me thanks

    • If you need SSD, case and PSU (or case with int PSU) happy to buy it, PM me with details.

  • +2

Do not bother with MSY Hurstville. No RAM, case or graphics card.

  • Has anyone been to either of the Adelaide stores and can provide an update on stock levels?

I can't get to MSY till Sat due to work commitments.

  • Msy website showing Victoria pretty much out of stock for Ryzen 5 1600… Any chance of a restock for Saturday?

  • I got all the parts for a PC components from MSY Auburn on Friday, at around just before 12. MSY staff told me if wanted them to build my pc it will take up to 3 to 4 weeks to complete. I just grabbed the pc components and now I have someone else building it for me for $100.

I believed I received the cheapest price since I wanted all the pc components at once. However, I would received a bigger discount of $150, if I purchased the PC parts over 1 to 2 months from this website.

    • 3 to 4 weeks? WHAT!

I got this, first in the door at brendale on the thursday morning… And asked how long the build would take.. and the guy said 'not long as I was first one in for the deal'. I was not expecting 3 to 4 weeks?

This is my first purchase with msy, and I droped 2.5K on a brand new gaming RIG I will be happy with but since then…

I have sent an email to ask for an expected completion date? and If they would call or email me when it was done?
I have called every day for last 4 days to no answer…It hangs up after 5 mins of waiting on hold…
I have sent a second email wanting to know…

When i was told NOT LONG i assumed A week at the max!

Otherwise I would of AirTasked the job…

All i know now is that I payed alot of money and have nothing at the moment…

Is this normal for MSY? I know they have a reputation for horrid customer service… is this treatment I am getting normal ( Is tehre a store rep on this thread still? hung861988??)

      • I Recived a message saying everything was ready to go just now. ( Within an hour f posting so thanks hung if you helped or thanks rng/luck+4)

As a business to customer experience being ignored is a way to generate hate in your business, either do not offer phones or have someone answer them… the glimmer of hope is what hurts.

You mentioned a change hung, so if that happens i think ill continue upgrading my pc through you guys, if not, elsewhere.

thanks for readying my rant random internet people who are beautiful

  • It was a good deal. Thanks MSY. Hope to see more deals like this. Maybe even pay full price but get a free build or something like that.
