I just had a look on the website and the only state that has it for $272 is TAS so maybe it's TAS wide only.

Yep looks like TAS only as OP is based there and can't find the same price elsewhere.

    • I thought it was but looking at some of the comments clearly it's Tasmania only. So I apologise

      • I'm actually glad because I literally bought the $299 Ryobi one on Monday (in Vic) and tried like anything to get them to knock the price down a bit or do a bundle with the stand but they wouldn't budge!

NB: The reviews of the one I bought are mixed too, but people are stupid and think the dust filter will collect ALL the mess… idiots!

        • I know it's too late but can you bargain with bunnings staff for a discount?

  • Showing $399 in Melb

  • Cracking deal. Do they price match their own stores?

    • Yep. Brings me back to this deal. Although Bunnings said they don't even price match their stores in the same state, many (including myself) were able to price match this deal from a Bunnings store interstate with little persuasion. But not the extra 10% off.

  • Should be able to price match it…maybe

  • Damn, why does Tas get all the good stuff

      That's a relative statement.

    • They don't have electricity yet so can't use this saw anyway!

Any chance you can post a copy of receipt? I have been able to get Bunnings to price match in the past.

    • yes receipt would be great. I'd try get one too.

    • Purchased online so I have not received an actual receipt yet. However, I am happy to send you the email confirmation.

    • If you set your store to a tassie one, it shows the price as $272 hopefully that'll be enough?

  • Their price match policy does end with:

Lowest prices are just the beginning… that's our policy.
Bunnings' price guarantee applies to any lower price on an item that is currently stocked and available from an online store, or in a physical store in Australia. It applies where the other retailer’s final price, inclusive of delivery, taxes, fees and charges, is lower than our price on the day that the price guarantee is requested.

But before that it mentions competitors. Will give it a go tomorrow

  • Very competitive price!

About 6 months ago I bought the Ozito 254mm Sliding Compound Mitre Saw. Been very happy with it, but at this price I would have seriously considered the Bosch! The massive doubt is of course not available nationwide.

I was considering getting that exact same one a couple of weeks ago but just like you said for this price I didn't even think twice about it! Good to know your ozito is going well. I was very sceptical about getting one.

      • Me too :).

But I gotta be honest, I've become a bit of a fanboi.

Got a grinder, saw, blower, shop vac, and vibrating multi tool… all dirt cheap and I thought "oh here we go its gunna be crap!", but they've all actually surprised me!

The 3 year replacement warranty is what sells me. I can almost destroy them and I know I'll get a replacement no questions asked.
Never had to use the warranty yet so by my reckoning I'm in front hundreds of dollars!

  • Must be a price error :o so would like one :)

I have an old Ozito thats about 14-15 years old but it doesnt seem to cut straight anymore…

    • You can realign it pretty easily

      • Only if the issue is the alignment of the saw to the fence. I've seen quite a few misaligned sliding mitre saws with bent or crooked sliding mechanisms (and a lot of people are having this issue with one of the latest Makita's).

    • I have one a yes the laser light could be better but otherwise i have no issues with it and has been great.

    • For $400 you're probably better off getting a 2nd hand high quality saw. But for a bit under $300, this is a bargain.

  • If anyone is after a simple dropsaw & stand, it looks like the Ozito 210mm saw + stand is $99 again

    • I have this.. It's great for the price. hasn't skipped a beat :)

      • how deep does it cut? would you get 70mm?

        • I've mainly used it for decking and building a cubby house - so no massively deep cuts.

I'd say 70mm would be around the limit - can confirm tonight if you want?

        • @deeps: that ok, thank you kindly. I check with Ozito (it's 55mm). I think I found a daddyday prezzy:-)

  • ANyone on the mainland have any luck?
I tried 5 different stores in Melb, nup was the short answer.

Maybe there's a father's day catalogue coming out with it in it?
Apparently last year it was $399 with a stand.
