      god dammit

      • Yeah I've always found cable chick to be overpriced, sale or not.

      • try emailing them to cancel your order

  • You can probably get a dock with HDMI and USB ports and stuff for that much. Converting HDMI to mDP is straightforward and cheap.

This won't work for Thunderbolt Display, only for Mini DisplayPort (ie Apple Cinema Display).

Same connector but different protocols, old MacBook Pro supported both over one plug.

This is correct. The Apple (USB-C) ThunderBolt 3 to ThunderBolt 2 adapter will drive a native Thunderbolt display but won't drive a (mini) DisplayPort display. This adaptor can drive a (mini) DisplayPort display but not a ThunderBolt display. A (previous generation) Macbook Pro or Air with a ThunderBolt 2 port can drive either because the ports support alternate mode.

  • This site is always overpriced.
