  • PIA or Nord VPN?

  • Thanks. just purchased one.

Question: Whenever Im connected to PIA, why does google always ask me to verify Im not a robot(perform captcha etc) whenever I perform multiple google searches in a short period of time. I don't have this problem when Im disconnect from PIA though. Something about detecting too much incoming connection or something.

Quite annoying, how do I get rid of it?

    • This info might be useful for you: https://www.google.com.au/amp/s/www.cactusvpn.com/vpn/google…

If you are using a shared IP address on a VPN, this means that you are not the only person using that IP address and that other people are using it as well. Therefore, you are likely not the only person that is doing searches on Google.com. These other people are likely to be searching Google at the same time as you are doing it.

What Google sees is a lot of searches that originate from the same computer which is something that is commonly done by bots and spammers. Because of this, Google requests that you verify that you are a human by requesting that you complete a Captcha occasionally. This will prove to Google that you are not a computer program that is making fake searches.

  • Thought I'd throw in my two cents. Just got upgraded to nbn (65 down 33 up) and yet on PIA i was only getting about 8 down 8 up on the Melbourne server (based in Melbourne).
However with an uninstall of the PIA client aswell as the TAP driver and reinstall i now get 60 down 30 up when connecting to the Melbourne server.

Obviously the client doesn't self update and can significantly give you poorer speeds.
Compared to IPVanish the best i could get out of any close server was about 32 down 25 up.

  • Has anyone taken advantage of this deal? My gut is telling me 9to5toys website seems dodgey. I'd like to know if they are legit before giving them any money. Thanks in advance.

  • You have to create new account every time you buy a deal like this. I've done it recently.

  • My 2 year subscription is about to expire in less than two months. Bought a new sub with this deal and will probably redeem the code just before it expires in 30 days to stretch my existing subscription.

  • Apart from torrent, US netflix, connect through free Wi-Fi hotspot, why people here use vpn? As far as I know if you are using usenet over ssl you'll be fine?

  • I am currently a PIA subscriber.
So, do i need to first sign up for a new PIA account, or i just enter the giftcard code and i will be assigned a new PIA account from there ?

And is there an expiry date to this deal ?

  • Thanks. Purchased. Took took me a while to find where to enter the coupon code at checkout. All good now. AU $61.77

    • Where do you enter the coupon code?!
It just comes up at $59.95 for me

EDIT: don't worry, figured it out - comes up after you've filled in all the payment details

  • Anyone having trouble checking out with this deal? When I enter the promo code and hit apply I get: There was an error communicating with the server. Please try again later.

I've tried on two different computers and get the same thing. I've emailed their support but was also wondering if anyone else has encountered this.

  • keeps saying not valid when i enter the code?

made new account, went to select paypal and entered code.

  • I get "Coupon not available". Has it expired?
