The flagship of the KEF Q900 now on sale at Addicted Audio. I've auditioned this pair a while ago and it's certainly one of my favourites.
At 50% discount, I think it's a pretty good value. The website says stocks are limited and only black is available.
Yeah I think this model is getting replaced. But the new ones will be at least $3.5k RRP.
Speakers don't go out of fashion, so I think this represents good value. :)
Better to buy smaller, better speakers. The quality will be much better, even if the range is narrower. Less is more, so to speak.

KEF are indeed very good, and you'd need to spend decent coin on a suitable amp to do them justice, but at this price they represent good value for sure.
True but you don't need to blow the budget. I'd usually benchmark the spending more on speakers because they last forever while amps and receivers get outdated very soon.
These aren't sony muteki, and less isn't always more in home theatre/hi-fi. Just needs to be balanced for the room

These are slightly more comfortable to wear for long periods of time.

Are these better used purely for music or are they suitable for movies and TV as well?
In a home theatre set-up, the centre channel is the most important speaker. That's where more than 50% of the sound in coming from a single channel. The rest of the speakers are used as effects. However in saying that, the front stage of a home theatre (Left, Centre, Right) should have the same timber tone, from the same manufacturer.
Good front speakers will shine the most in a stereo set-up.
Now if only they had some of their "Schiit" products on sale!

Shame I just missed out on the full range. I only just stated activating for my movie room build, and saw these. The Q600c not around now… I'd have to get a Q650c to have a matching centre.
The new range would be a completely different price range as these were prices to clear.
Yeah I saw that (obviously as these are 50% off :)). But to get a nice matching set of speakers for a 5.x setup I feel stuck having to get the 650 now or wait for a 600 to show up somewhere used.
I think it's discontinued and on clearance.
