    I tried this and the app sucks… every time I unlock the fone I get an add.
    A bit annoying.
    Not for me.
    1000 points is $5 not worth it really.

    But then people wanting Sydney House prices this is good I guess!

    I just saw this as well and had the idea that if you have an old phone and the "Tasker" app you could set you phone to unlock itself at different intervals. This would then appear to be looking at adds. Maybe. Going to try it tonight.

      Does the Rewards app work on rooted devices? I think you might need admin permissions to have Tasker unlock a device.

    There's some interesting gotchas in the T&C:

    Once the application has been successfully downloaded from the Google Play Store, flybuys members may be able to collect either 350, 650 or 1,000 flybuys BONUS POINTS every 30 days just for viewing ads

    I read that as saying, for example, if you clicked on 649 ads (1 short of 650) you would only get 350 points. That's a pretty nasty bit of rounding DOWN.

    Unlock Rewards only works on one Android phone at a time.

    Disappointing for a house with 2 cards on the same account.

    Please note that the ads, content and offers that you see are designed to use under 150mb of additional data per month

    That's quite a lot of data for people on small plans (e.g. 1GB)

      Highly recommended, but if you don't unlock enough times you'll probably only end up on the lower end of the spectrum, i.e. 300 points for once or twice a day.

    Ironically the same people that hint that this is a bad idea are okay with Xiaomi phones having ads in their security app.

    Talk about hypocrisy.

      The big difference though is that you're getting something out of it, while most other internet ads aren't giving money or points of any sort, they just annoy you.

    was wondering if this was worth the pain… didn't realise it was an ad everytime you unlock your phone. good lord id rather kms. thought it'd be something i could choose to view at my own choice

    its a bit confusing, on my app it says target 1000 pts reached, but it hasnt credited my account yet

    but under it, it says 22 days completed of 30

    looking fwd to uninstalling this app, its very annoying

      FAQs say that your progress is "updated overnight" on the app but the points don't actually hit your flybuys account until up to 48 hours after each 30 day period.

      So how many ads did you have to view to get to 1000 points?

        I thoight it was a certain number of days. And not clicks.

        I havebt been credited the points but it says 1000 pts completed.
        But it also says 23 of 30 days

      I got a phone notification saying that I've been upgraded to the next tier, so when I clicked on it, and ad popped up and I lost the notification :( hope I'll be getting the 2000 points as i cant wait to uninstall this

          I got 1000 flybuys points credited, i thought it was going to be 2000, but i guess the wording in the post says 'Up to' 2000… not sure if 10bux was worth a month of annoyance haha

    gone into voluntary administration just received this email

    "You may have heard the recent news that Unlockd, the technology partner that powers Unlock Rewards, exclusive to flybuys, has gone into voluntary administration following an unanticipated threat from Google to remove Unlockd's apps from Google Play Store.

    Unfortunately, this means the Unlock Rewards app will be discontinued and you will no longer be able to collect flybuys points via the Unlock Rewards app, effective 12pm Friday 22 June 2018.

    Any points you've collected through the app up to 12pm Friday 22 June will be awarded to your account in the next 30 days.

    We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused to you. We look forward to bringing you new and exciting ways to collect points in the near future.
