Just a little review about the seller in case people don't know a lot:

Metabox laptops are pretty good for their specs, but do come with a not-so elegant design unlike ASUS or MSI (so they are cheaper than the very-well known sellers). But the trade-off is pretty nice (after all, most people want performance over design). And design is not bad at all, it does do fan control well enough.

You can also customize them (RAM, HDD and SSD, even the screen - G-Sync or no G-Sync etc) too. Also you'll get a 2 year warranty as well.

Kong Computers are great sellers too, always willing to answer questions and help out as possible as they can.

Source: Recently bought a Metabox P650HS-G.

    • Lbo folded shortly after i purchased my laptop. The hinge and screen have since broken. The fan is making strange grinding sounds. I bought extended warranty, which became void after bankruptcy. Looking at xiaomi now

Have you talked with the Metabox Support to see what you can do? these laptops are based or Clevo and Sager laptops, so you can find parts to fix some of these issues (like the screen). Warranty or not, i think they could help you at least to replace the screen by yourself.

no never bothered. it served me well for 2 years. laptop parts have come a while since purchasing so id be happy to upgrade.

initially it had problems with the bios. LBO told me to patch the BIOS, but if anything went wrong, it would void my warranty. i told them to piss off.

        • @tomkun01:
          Sorry to hear that mate.
Yes definitely hit up Metabox if you want to get the old laptop bought from LBO fixed. They would definitely have the parts.

@Kong Computers: thanks. Still works when hooked up to a monitor but it's disappointing that the hinge broke so easily. Still better than my old Lenovo

    • do come with a not-so elegant design unlike ASUS or MSI

Have you seen Asus and MSI gaming laptops bro? Elegant lel …

      • I meant their designs are very polished, whereas Metabox's ones are bland. Also it's going to leave a lot of fingerprints, so get ready to clean them off too (not tedious to do though, and they come of pretty quickly with a towel - no liquid required).

The sale downgrades the WiFi, rep pls……..

    • HI Dyl, the base WiFi is the onboard non AC WiFi.
Last month Metabox offered the better 8265AC, but swapped a few specs around this month to also now add on the 1TB HDD.
      Kris

      • +1

Understood, but all your laptops usually come with a free 1x1 AC as standard, so when I read upgraded WiFi I think 8265AC… Still a great deal, even if it is ~$1258 after WiFi upgrade instead of $1229.

I guess if people want to be fancy, they can remove the HDD (-$60), add in the WiFi upgrade (+$29) and pay $1,198, so it's still a great deal.

        • Thanks Dyl, Your response had me thinking about the Wi-Fi. I went back though the old promotions and the last time Metabox offered the base on-board Wi-Fi was way back in September 2016. So it has been the 3165AC, 3168AC, 8260AC or 8265AC since then on various promotions. Good pick-up :)
          Cheers
