Ex-Demo ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q Gaming Monitor - 27", 2560x 1440, IPS, 165hz, G-SYNC - $699 Pickup / + Delivery @ BudgetPC

830

Pretty damn good price considering these retail for >$1100 new.

Product page: https://www.asus.com/au/Monitors/ROG-SWIFT-PG279Q/

Saw this suggested on a discussion on a Facebook group, and a few of those who contributed bought the monitor earlier this week and were happy with what they received, so decided to post this.

Delivery seems to be around the $20-$40 mark.

1 year warranty.

Enjoy!

        • not the company but their gaming monitors and if you read carefully i said relatively… lolololololol

  • Would this be OK for use with nvidia 3d glasses?

It isn't compatible with the glasses

Me and a couple mates ordered and went to pick up our monitors before closing. They tested them all in front us and made sure it was all good before buying. Was told they are all sold out now (apparently they had around 200). Really happy with their service though.

Awesome to hear! You guys got a real good bargain :)

Picked one up from Mount Waverley store. Looks like they have stacks of them! Saw a couple of other customers grabbing one… wonder if it was any of you guys :P

Screen is in fantastic condition… No scratches, no dead pixels, VERY minimal backlight bleed (less than my previous monitor). One of the staff members was testing them before handing them over, so I wouldn't worry too much guys.
The box itself looks a bit old and dusty with a bunch of old shipping stickers on it. Looking at the stickers, it seems mine was a Scorptec RMA. However the monitor seems perfect so far.

I've been waiting forever for a 27" IPS with g-sync… this is an awesome deal! I'm stoked :D

Sweet! Glad everyone is happy with them :)

    • I too picked mine up from Mount Waverley today. Similar scenario - no scracthes or dead pixels, very little bleeding on the side.
Was very impressed with the staff. Will definitely keep an eye on them for bargains again.
They were rushing around like crazy getting them ready for couriers when I was there. They probably had a few pallets of the monitors, checking them all.

Thanks for the post OP. Now if you could find me a cheap GTX1080…

  • Woooow, I placed an order and was waiting for pick-up confirmation, rang the store and they said come down you can pick it up from the Mt Waverly store. When I got there they said they are now sold out and won't be honouring my order, when an hour earlier they confirmed for me to come down and pick it up. Super disappointed the store would do this.

If anyone changes their mind or isn't happy with the backlight bleed let me know and I'll buy it from you so you don't have to go through the returns process.

  • Picked mine up this morning from Mt Waverly, they said they had loads left. Anyway just wanted to say thanks to OP, this was an awesome deal & its in perfect condition cant fault it.

  • So is everyone happy with their purchase? what's the manufacturing date on these monitors?
Do they look ex demo or maybe refurbish?

    • Looks refurbished. They had refurbished stickers on the boxes. Very happy thus far. Haven't check manufacture date, I'll have a look next time I'm with it

    • Refurbished, display untouched, stickers still on all the relevant parts of the monitor, the box was tattered but the monitor pristine.

There's a small amount of back light bleed on the right hand corners but it's not a big deal.

There was one (human physical contact) smudge on the display which was easily cleaned up.

    • Really happy with mine. Pretty much flawless with minimal bleed. Had issues originally with the Displayport cable that it came with, but quickly resolved once I purchased a brand new one. Manufacturer date is May 2016.

  • Bought one of these and got it delivered today, having an issue where i can't get more than 24hz refresh rate at 1440p over Displayport. I can get 60hz 1440p over HDMI no issue, but not over displayport which is supposed to allow for the full 165hz refresh rate. Anyone else having this issue? System is Win10 64bit and 980ti with 385.41 drivers.

Also mine came with only a small scratch on the base, the rest of the panel looks amazing.

Maybe it's the cable? Do you have an extra to try with?

      • yeah the cable I was 100% sure was version 1.2 was not, the new cable is performing better but now i get flickering at anything past 100hz, even with the 2nd monitor disconnected. Genuinely not sure if it's the cable because it is v1.2 and is rated to 144hz at 1440p, might just pick up another one and test it to make sure.

        • +1

Yeah might be a good option, as commenters above said that they actually tested the monitors before sending them off. Good luck!

    • Sell it to me and let me try

    • it should of came with a display port cable

    • I had the black flickering issue originally trying to play with any refresh rate over 60hz, 1440p and g-sync on. Once I got a brand new Displayport cable, issue went away and I can play at 165hz, 1440p and g-sync with no flickering issues at all. So all to do with original cable that came with it.

I got mine Tuesday. i was surprise they didn't wrap it in black shrink wrap since it had to be sent to Sydney!

My is perfect minus a little bit of light bleed on bottem & top right side and no dead pixels. Manufacture date on mine is February 2016. The USB 3 cable what came with it was on a 1m cable!

It does look brand new untouched when i opened it, minus the packaging had been opened before.
