[Android] Dropsync PRO Key $0.20 (Was $6.99) @ Google Play Store

780

Pro license on sale for 20c, having used it before but will spend 20c of my hard earned Google Credits for it.
Description below is for the FREE app, the license will unlock the premium features at the bottom. 4.7 stars from 5,298 reviews for the pro features.

Dropsync lets you automatically sync and share unlimited files and folders with Dropbox and with your other devices. It is an ideal tool for photo sync, photo upload, music download, document and file backup, automatic file transfer, automatic file sharing between devices,…

New files in your device are instantly uploaded to Dropbox. New files in Dropbox are automatically downloaded onto your device. If you delete a file on one side, it will be deleted on the other side. It works across multiple devices (your phone and your tablet). If their folders are synced with the same Dropbox account, they will be kept in sync with each other.

This is how Dropbox desktop client works but it's not the same with the official Dropbox Android app. The Dropbox app is all manual. Dropsync is all about automation.

Two-way automatic sync should be an essential feature of the official Dropbox app itself since the beginning. For whatever reason it is not the case. Dropsync is here to fill the gap.

MAIN FEATURES

✓ Full two-way autosync running in background, just like Dropbox on desktop
✓ Many sync modes. Not only two-way, you can also choose Upload only, Upload then delete, Download only, Download mirror,…

What sucks is that Dropbox Free accounts do not allow more than 2 computers to be in sync anymore without upgrading to the full account. Screw that.. I went with Onedrive thru O365 giving more than 1TB storage than the measly few Gig's that Dropbox gives.

    • Wow, really? When'd they do that?

I have three machines that sync on a free account, BUT I might be getting around that by also having a work account tied to it as well.

I wish Onedrive gets differential sync. it's chews through my mobile data like there is no tomorrow.

So I'm keeping files on both services which is a pain.

      • I'm doing that too but the Dropbox is archive for me. All my new stuff is on OneDrive now

        • I was thinking of doing the reverse. Most of my stuff is on OneDrive but sometimes it's so painful to sync. I have 12GB of data a month and even renaming a file or moving folders around means it's a sync :(

        • @rexii2300: I agree. They need to fix the Office Uploader on O365. It's horrid especially for documents actively edited and in use (where your differential sync comes in). I think they made it this way to be partially compatible with Sharepoint 365 which is even worse for syncing.
I havent had any problems with normal file syncs though with Onedrive though (ie. Copy and paste new files into the Onedrive folders). But yeah, it definitely uses more data on the move as you say.

    • Huh? I have 3 PC's synced right now, and I haven't paid for shit.

This is one of less than a dozen apps I've ever paid for on Google Play. I post a bit on Instagram, and this is an easy one-click solution for transferring files from PC to phone (export from Lightroom directly to a Dropbox folder, hit sync on phone, photos are magically in the folder I need them to be in on my phone.)

    Recommended++!

  • Sweet. Waiting has paid off!!

    • Wtf I had it bought already. Must've bought it ages ago at full price using Telstra Billing.

  • Sweet got it, cheers OP!

  • If you delete a file on one side, it will be deleted on the other side.

Isn't this a bad thing for backup purposes?

    • I believe it depends how you set it up - it can be two way sync or one way sync etc

  • what's the different between Google Drive? as google drive, one drive is free?

    • Dropbox will sync only part of a file that has changed

      https://www.dropbox.com/help/syncing-uploads/upload-entire-f…

It is far more reliable if you have a slow Internet connection.

      • thanks, just checked my accoun, only has free 2 GB, is it useful? One driver has more i believe…

        • You can get up to 16 gb free with referrals ( easy to make up referrals )

Enough for basic backup of office files.

Because it syncs parts of files you can do things like share an encrypted drive, and setup local saving of evernote or onenote to save to that drive. A small change won't require you to sync an entire 1gb container (like it would in google drive)

        • @Superannuation:

          thanks, will have a try

  • Was always thinking of setting up a synch system to go accross my mobile, lappy, desktop.

  • When I click to buy through link above (using PC), price changes from $0.20 to 4.99 USD

    Anyone else see that?

    • Are you behind a VPN or have a Us IP address in anyway

  • Thanks, will come in handy one day.
