    Tab A not 4.

I believe its Foxtel Now - not normal foxtel.

BYO MX 12MTH Plan 10GB + Unlimited Calls $49 PM

This was 12GB for $50 yesterday, still not that bad I guess.

Data charges apply to foxtel now= no deal

Only reason I love the Optus Netflix no data usage/charges. Literally stream it so often I must use 40-50gb data a month.

But it's not HD right? The free stream is just SD quality?

        • Nope it's HD. (Phone Quality) Never had any issues with the quality at all.

    So 24 months for a note 8 @$109 = $2616
Even with tablet and foxtel, not a bargain as such

    • Even less of a bargain when you realise no-one really wants/needs a tablet when they have a 5.7+ inch phone.

  • "Redeem your free 12 month Foxtel Now Starter Pack(s) with choices from Pop, Drama, Docos, Kids and Lifestyle."

So are movies and sports not included for free in this offer?

    • Yeah, unfortunately not included. I see it says:
      "Foxtel Now Starter Packs,.."

      • Yeah just confirmed with chat, otherwise would have taken up the offer

  • Got excited then realised you only get to choose 1 starter pack (unless I read it wrong)

  • Existing members with Telstra can also redeem the offer -

    Further down the page are
    About the offer

What happens once my redeemed 12 month offer has ended?
After the 12 month period, just before you automatically roll onto a paid subscription of your chosen packs, we will let you know that your 12 month free offer period is about to end.

Can I combine multiple plans to redeem more Foxtel Now packs?
Eligible Telstra customers with mobile and mobile broadband plans can combine Foxtel Now Packs to enjoy a wider range of content and channels. Use your Foxtel Now login to apply two offers across any pack you choose. E.g. Apply 12 months to Docos, and then 12 months to Lifestyle.

Can I combine my offer to the same Starter Pack and get 24 months?
You can combine your 12 month offers on different Starter Packs, but not the same pack.

Can I choose a Premium Pack for 12 months?
No. Unfortunately, you can only choose between the five Starter Packs (Lifestyle, Doco, Kids, Drama and Pop) for your 12 month offer. You are then able to upgrade to a Premium Pack at your choosing, however this is not part of the offer and it will be added to your monthly bill.

Do Foxtel Now data charges apply?
Yes, streaming Foxtel Now will use your monthly data allowance.

  • Title maxed out, had to use a mobile phone emoji to make it all fit :P

  • Is Telstra much better than Optus?
Do they have signal for browsings in the Sydney train tunnels?

    • +2

Username will check out if you go on Optus or Vodafone :)

Can confirm that Optus loses signal in Sydney train tunnels but Telstra doesn't. That being said, I haven't obviously tried everywhere, but it works for me awesomely.

Can't find any info on what phone plans qualify for the Foxtel deal :/ I'm out of contract Mx plan, and it's not showing up for me

    • I was hoping my current $50 BYO would qualify for the Foxtel now subscription, but after contacting support I was told that I would need to re-contract on one of the $79+ plans

  • What's the selected mobile plans?

  • The offer is not showing up for me in offers. The linked webpage has a button saying 'I'm already a mobile customer wanting to redeem' but the section it takes you to says new and existing Foxtel Now customers can redeem. Which is weird.

  • Tried to contract to a new mobile byo sim plan, $49 per month mx 10 GB plus bonus 5GB. Couldn't complete the order online, so called Telstra sales. Part way through, my computer was playing up so the rep asked if they could call me back in 15 mins. Restarted my computer, all good, but the same plan no longer has the bonus 5 GB. If they call me back, I will try to get it, or cancel the order and wait for something else.

Regarding the BYO "Mx" 12mth Plan 10GB + Unlimited Calls $49/mth deal

Last month, I contacted Telstra to hopefully update my Plan and was able to upgrade to the "M" 12mth Plan 15GB with a reduced monthly price of $50.00 (at the time it was $70.00, but it is now $59.00)

My advice is to speak to someone from the Disconnections team by calling or using the Telstra 24x7 Chat website or mobile app. When I told them that I was thinking about leaving Telstra for Optus' better value deal they then offered me the option of a cheaper "M" Package.

They wouldn't reduce the price of the "Mx" but for me personally I still saved money compared to my previous plan, got upgraded date usage and remained with the telco that I believe provide best coverage.

(Obviously this makes the "M" deal more expensive over the "Mx" by $1 per month but for an extra 5GB then I call that an OzBargain)

    • Their website just updated as I was looking at it and the bonus 5 GB deal is back. 15 GB for $49 per month.

      • Can't see bonus data this morning

        • I signed up Friday, messaging definitely said 10 + 5GB bonus, but the bonus 5GB never appeared; resolved today with a 24/7 chat, they added the extra 5GB on the spot.

    • Can attest to this being the way to play the game :)

  • It is still 10 GB for $49 plan
