Shame I've already got the 40-150mm PRO, otherwise I would've jumped on this.

    • Surely the PRO is a much better unit and worth the money?

      • -1

Yeah, the comment didn't make sense to me either.

      • Don't get me wrong, I really like the PRO especially when paired with the teleconverter. For me it's worth every penny and more. But it's also a lot heavier, cost a lot more, etc. and with Oly IBIS, fast lenses are not as compulsory as before. And even with the TC, it's still too short for serious birding.

Sorry for thinking aloud here.. But, if I could do it all over again I'd probably just get the 12-100mm, despite the ridiculous price.

        • If you dont mind slower lens, why not weather-sealed 14-150mm?

        • @cheapo999:

I suppose that'll work too, but I tend to get Oly PRO level if I can.

  • Very nice! Grabbed mine for around $160 locally but I got the TRS refund….Would love to see some other bargains on m34 lenses.

Anyone have any recommendations? I really love my 17mm f1.8 Olympus lens.

    • All of the Olympus Pro lenses are highly regarded, as well as the Panasonic equivalents at the same price range. What camera do you have?

There's some comparisons of lenses at dxomark for the model above yours, but still useful info.

      • Wow $800 for the 20mp sensor. Cheapest yet. Tempting…

        • Do you really need 20mp?
I have had billboards printed off of images taken with a 16mp camera.

        • @ma77: more pixels for better cropping.

I own em5m2 and just bought this gx8. Oly has better style and buttons placements. Pana is better on all other things including menu, video 4K, menu, IQ etc. I might be wrong though since I only played with Pana for couple of days.

    • I want a cheap birding lens. 40-150 isnt enough, this is a great lens for what it is though.

      • Can pick this for ~$200 AU used (I picked it up for this price).

  • Macro Focus Range : 90 cm

This lens doesn't do macro. Had it before.

  • Is this suitable for the Olympus OMD EM10 Mark II?

    • Yes, all current Oly camera's are Micro Four Thirds.
