  • That 32gb rom is not gonna have much room left for the user with windows 10 on it. But i guess its ok for the price.

    • $130 would get you an Intel Compute stick locally, so this is actually not bad at all.

      • Surely a second-hand laptop would be better option if your budget was so tight?

That's true. I initially thought this had a FHD display like the other china-Atom-books, but turns out it's just 1366 x 768.

$60 USD extra though gets you an upgraded 15.6" model with 64GB + 4GB RAM + FHD display which is $200 AUD.

    • Let's hope that ROM (Read Only Memory) is a typo, otherwise it'll be quite useless.

      • I think a lot of manufacturers refer to memory that is not RAM as ROM. It's technically incorrect as it's not read-only but for some reason someone decided it was a good idea to use it.

That and it's eMMC which means it's atrociously slow.

  • the body looks the same as the Dere D17

half the price of that but half the memory, half the emmc and half the resolution

  • At first glance it looks like a MBA lol

      that's probably intentional :p

  • Wonder if I could get a DOS install or an old Windows on it to play old games. Hmmmmmmmmm

DOSbox should run fine on it.

  • Actually around $120 with Aud/Usd > 0.8, and GeekBuying sitewide 4% off for email subscription.

Can someone ease my concern. What is USB 2.0 Host? Same as all PCs, or crappy usb on tablets, or something else. I might buy if usb is normal.

  • An atom z8350, 2gb ram, 32gb eMMC and 1366 X 768 resolution… Do you value your life at $130 because this is going to be torturous everytime you use it.

My opinion is that the Celerons with 4GB of ram is the absolute minimum.

    • How would the TBook X8 go? This has FHD and 8 GB of RAM but the same CPU. Still very slow?

      • Quite frankly it is a waste getting 8gb of RAM with an atom, it simply cannot utilise that much memory. I think its cap is 2-4GB.
Remember that an atom chip is made for tablets/chromebooks more than for laptops.

Go for a better chip rather than more RAM.

You can get dell inspiron 11 3000's delivered for $169-189 on the dell factory outlet - stock is random but you get a full 1yr local warranty, a celeron cpu and 4gb ram.

Use the compact os technique on the emmc and it will hold up ok.
