    Do these wifi components go through independent hacking/security reviews? Seems like a lot of these types of devices are beimg promoted here / reported as bargains (and imagine bought?) but do shoppers really understand the ramifications of adding vulnerable devices to their internal networks?

      Doubt it. They go on a separate, isolated VLAN to my standard network. Can't imagine most people do this though.

  Can someone knowledgeable tell the key difference between this and the Xiaomi WIFI power strip which has remote switch on/ off and power tracking functions?

  Have got two of the Xiaomi but am interested in trying this out.
