i'm going to need to hit the gym again soon if this keeps up…

    • +4

Looks like the donut market is finally booming…

      • +4

We have been in a donut boom for some time now… leading to a donut bubble… this is the correction. Its the GDC.

    • +7

Not to mention the donut ad for livingsocial underneath the deal.

      • +5

All glazed and photoshopped.. oh god, the temptation

      • +1

So that's why I feel like donuts every time I come here!!

  • why can't i squash a 7th donut in the bag ???

  • +1

Awesome, wait you do serve goths right? i am going to have donut overload today

Edit: a bit stupid having fill a bag then limited to 6

  • +8

its quite a misleading title. Fill a bag, but in the voucher, you are only allowed to fill in 6 doughnuts. IMO, 'fill a bag'=unlimited.

    • +8

Depends on the size of the bag though…. Considering we're coming into Christmas season, it's not unreasonable to expect Santa showing up expecting his sack to get filled.

      cough

      • rotflmao

      • He might as well. He only comes once a year.

        cough

        • and only when you're sleeping

      Why dont you ?

    • +5

Yep, anyone can neg….or you still don't know how to vote?

        • +10

          …..
…..someone is having a serious attitude problem.
I'm just trying to help kid. If you can't appreciate it, or somehow see it differently, then I won't be bothered.

        • I didnt know that , thanks :)

    • +26

      Your username is misleading

      • +6

Not everyone can be bothered clicking on your name to see how old you account is. It's got nothing to do with IQ.

And on that note, why is your account so new? Are you a troll and your previous account was sin binned? :p

        • +3

He's so new he just clicked reply to his own comment

          • +2

@mizazn: Lol, didn't even notice that.

    • +2

Click report, just under the deal, and write what is misleading about the title. Submit.

      That's it.

    • +1

Why is there so much negativity about a $2 bag of donuts? God damn

  • -2

Yes…misleading title from a rep. Negged until fixed.

I can understand if it's from non-rep who just might not read the T&Cs, but no excuse for a rep.

Mod: Fixed, revoked vote. Would be simpler if you just hit REPORT button.

    • +4

Yeah use the report button, it works

      • Thing is, I don't see the need to get the mods involved (and spend their valuable time) in this.

First, the OP can (and should) fix this issue themselves.
Second, I can also revoked my own vote if the issue eventually gets fixed.

Mods' role would be much better served doing those stuffs that only mods can do, e.g. removing SPAM posts, banning sites, removing ghost accounts, etc.
Especially considering there are just too many of those issues recently.

But, if the mods prefer that I hit the report button even for simple issue like this, then will do in the future. Too easy.

        • +1

Lol mostly agreed, although why bother when this is what they ask us to do?

Ps and whats with this negged till fixed, like they need to satisfy you ?

          • +1

@Mikinoz: It's in the guidelines that a neg vote might be removed when the issue has been addressed. Just following the guidelines (below). And also, rather than waiting for the mods to remove (and again, spend their valuable time), better to remove it myself.

            Voting Guidelines:
"Negatives left to ask for corrections to a post are also helpful (eg a condition left out of the title) but may be removed after the corrections have been made, either by the original poster or a Mod"

            • +1

@vwh: True, I think that was put in there before the report button. Needs to be updated. On the to do list.

              http://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:voting_guidelines

            • +1

@vwh: That was kind of you.

However, because of a few incidents, we've found that title fixing, especially if it's not a repeat offender, is handled better by the Report button.

Less arguments with others who don't understand about the title, less requests to deal with asking for neg votes to be removed and helps reduce the number of flame wars.

(We've had a few flame wars that started off as simple title amendment requests with a neg vote)

              • +4

@SomeGuyOnOzB: No probs. Will hit the report button in the future instead of neg.
                Cheers.

        • What you say is true if the OP changes the title but 99% of the time they don't or the negative votes lock them from changing the title/description.

          • @neil: Hmm…that's true. Too many negative votes will lock them.
But then again, that's why it is there in the first place, no? If a poster received negatives and gets locked, then in the future they'll (hopefully) learn from their mistake and not posting stuffs rubbishly?

Also, if the OP didn't address the issue themselves, then I suppose that's the more reason to neg them?

Bear in mind we are talking about a rep here, someone who is doing this stuff not mistakenly, but mostly on purpose (i.e. using sales pitch).

I think it's just reasonable, and ultimately for the benefit of all OzBargainers, that we should hold a higher ethical posting standard for reps.

            • +1

@vwh: Again no one is going to diagree wih you about the higher ethics for reps, although i dont think this is only applied to Ozbargain i think its sales reps in general!

One thing i would say , the rep is a person too, not a robot and sure they lie cheat and steal but then no one is perfect

  • It's kind of amusing that these coupons have to be surrendered, when people can print as many as they want. I suppose the franchise has to keep track.

    • +3

Coupons are usually put in the till to assist with balancing at EOD.

  • +1

Are these going to be fresh hot ones or ones that have been sitting and gone cold? Sorry, I am a cinnamon donut snob and will only eat hot ones, they are like little pieces of heaven on earth. LOL.

    • +2

Why don't you just ask the franchise to give you hot ones and if they won't comply, just take your coupon elsewhere?

      • or report them to Donut King so the store will not refuse your request in the future?

    • fresh hot cinnamon coated donuts. fresh from the oil cooker. sooo hot that you have time to walk back to the office and compose an appropriate donut eating song and put them on your desk and then open the bag and they are still hot.

      • +5

My (fresh hot) donut eating song only consists of the following lyrics:
"Om nom nom, om nom nom nom, om nom nom nom nom"

  • +2

Well, I for one would like to thank the OP. I've seen these on my Shopper Dockets but always thrown them out in the end.

It's a very good deal as far as I am concerned and was posted with a nice positive tone.

  • only cinnamon? :(

  • Offer excludes Donut King Brisbane International Airport.

I wonder why they're the only ones who aren't coming to the party with this offer? Spoil sports! :P

    • I was thinking the same. Why are they so precious? They are probably still making a marginal profit on this deal. Would cost you $15 in parking though to run in and grab your donuts

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-4P1WPE-Qg&feature=related

    • +1

Maybe because they are charged extortionate rent in airports, as is the fashion?

      • they don't want people loaded on sugar when they board the planes.

        • +1

That's right then want to load them up with overpriced alcohol instead.

  • i love you Donut King!!

  • Unfortunately my local Donut King made the NSW Food Authority Name & Shame list some time ago. Looks like the current ones to watch out for are Brookvale, Eagle Vale and Harbourside.

    • Ah so Homer's been working there? lol!

  • +2

    Doughnut, DOUGHNUT!
    not donut!

    still great deal though

    • That's what the business calls itself so why get all het up about it?

  • +1

Donuts, is there anything they can't do?

  • The business name is Donut King - fair enough, however the product they sell is a doughnut…
Just hoping people can spell simple words once in a while :(

    • +1

      You do(go)nuts over bad spelling…

Oh god i'm showing my age.

    • +5

I think if you look up a dictionary you will find that donut is listed as a variant spelling of doughnut. And given that donuts were popularised in the US, that isn't surprising. Since they exported this craze, it's fair game for them to spell it their way.

It's like you insisting on spelling Mumbai Bombay.

      • -1

It is more like spelling color instead of colour, or polarize instead of polarise…etc

In Australia (last time I checked it was OZbargain no USAbagains haha) we spell words differently. Sometimes only slightly, but still different.

        (And YES it does matter)

        tomsco = funny haha

        • +2

The point is we are talking about a specific product. We're not talking about generic doughnuts here. As you see, I make the distinction. And I spelt surprising with two s.

  • nice these donuts are good ever since they started making them hot and fresh. i swear i have had the fill a bag coupon and got more than 6 in the bag.

I love going to get a coffee and they give 1 or 2 for free with the coffee as well :).

    • My local Donut King charges you 50c extra for two cinnamon doughies if you buy a coffee.

  • Technically they should really make it 8 doughnuts (but I guess that wouldn't fit in a bag, and then it's a whole new ball game), as if you buy a coffee, or thickshake or similar it's 50c extra for 2 cinnamon doughnuts. Then again, this is probably easier than having to buy 3 coffees to save 50c :)

  • +3

Took advantage of this at lunch time today - up here 6 donuts are usually $5.20, so 6 for $2 is over 50% off.. great stuff.

  • I'm not sure if I am alone, but does anyone prefer Woolworths Donuts to Donut King Donuts?

I do, mainly the Cinnamon donuts.

    • Careful, diddy50 might jump on you for spelling! :P

On topic, Woolies doughnuts aren't too bad (especially when they are on sale at $2 for a dozen), but they do tend to be too oily at times, probably because they've been sitting in a plastic container for the better part of a day.

      • oh shoosh….I gave up on that yesterday

It is a great deal! nuff said!

Actually it would be interesting to see if Woolworths actually label them doughnuts or not.

    • I just tried this voucher out, it was good. Donuts were made fresh, fun to watch em grow into a donut.

The difference I see is that Woolworths donuts seem to have less brown dot bits in them(maybe from the oil cause they were on the outside but not inside), and they have less sugar, and are more symmetric/smooth (donut kings were slightly crunchy at the bottom).

I got the feeling the franchises know nothing about it cause the shop girl stared at it for a minute before saying ok.

  • +2

Nope because Woolworths donuts are always hard and foul. If you buy DK you get them hot, soft and fresh.

    • +10

… Coincidentally, that's also how I like my girlfriends.

      • +7

Do they like you to be like Woolies donuts? ;)

      • +4

your girls come in packs of 6 for $2 from dk?

        • +2

whoring just got real cheap …

      • +4

I thought he liked them hard and foul.

      • +2

        All of the above.

      • aww funny guy.

  • +2

I'm glad that the coupon clarifies that putting doughnuts in a bag is a "Serving suggestion only".
Does that mean they don't actually supply the bag?

    Good deal though.

  • +1

    Fantastic work donutkingaus.

  • +3

proprietary donuts from woolies are awful, store made donuts are mmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmm, especially hot off the roller!

    • Warm woolies donuts up and they spring back to life. They used to contain GM ingredients though, not sure if they still do.

  • +2

    Welcome donutkingaus.
Good to see another new Rep!

    • +1

      Thanks wiz187!

  • I wish DK didn't halve the size of their donuts a few years ago, used to buy a lot from them until they made the donuts so small and charged the same, but this promo will make me try again ;)

  • i dont eat donuts except for with a coffee and the cinnamon ones are perfect for that. my local dk gives free donuts with the coffee which is good.

  • Donut King Rep: Can we just present the coupon on an iPhone or something if we don't own a printer? Or does it have to be a print out?

    • Voucher must be surrendered for redemption.

So, unless you're willing to hand over your iPhone (:P), I would guess the answer is no.

      • +1

Probably not too big an issue for iPhone owners, Apple will likely bring out a new model a couple of days later, so they'd just have to upgrade anyway! :p

    • +6

Hi itsross - unfortunately your coupon does have to be printed out to redeem the offer. Your local store needs to monitor how popular the offer has been and can only do this if the voucher is handed over.

  • Donut King I would like to compliment you also on the coffee change a while back. it used to be attrocious now at my local DK it is excellent. much fresher and richer, like a true coffee should be. Though one store i go past on my way to work still isnt too good.

  • +3

I bought some today, then had to go back and buy a Thick-shake to wash them down…lol.

They were fresh of the machine and tasted amazing..!!!
5 Stars to this offer for value and Taste..

  • +1

Just had it from local store… Freshly made… Hot, Fresh & soft.. great bargain….

  • This thread is full of win. funniest thread i've read in a while. haha

  • +4

Donutkingaus - my local store refused to honour my voucher because they said "it couldn't be verified"!

What kind of verification do they need?

Was a bit sad cos we'd been looking forward to tasty cinnamon donuts as our driving snack for the trip this weekend. Oh well! :)

    • +4

Contact DK central and tell them about that store, and hopefully they will have better communications with their franchisees before unleashing such an offer.

  • I tried to redeem this offer today at my local DK and was told that this was a QLD only promo?? as it mentions QLD airport.

The manager also said that they don't have this promo on their computer! WTF!! Don't all stores receive up to date promo emails!

After reading the terms and conditions to him, he gave in and honoured the offer.
