  • Probably take their 'Was' price with a truck load of salt. I know when they had a board game sale a couple of months ago, the was price was jacked up by 20% so that the sale price was about $1 cheaper than their regular price before the sale. I think you can probably tell that by things having 'Was' prices of $19.12 etc. Yes there are some slight savings over their regular non sale prices, but it is certainly a hell of a lot less than what they are making it out to be.

Agreed, "was 19.12" is bullshit. Theyre usually something like 15.99 or whatever. Either way, they never end with 0.12, its always .90,.95, or .99.

      (profanity).

Lots of genuine sale items in there. Plenty of Funko Pops for $9 or $12. There's plushies there marked down from $38 to $4. Quite a few replicas for actual half price (as I've seen them around else where and know their prices).

It seems like this is an actual clearance of crap which didn't sell rather than a faux sale for the sake of having a sale.

Is Zing the same as EB Games? Never seen a Zing store in Sydney

    • Same owners but Zing is a pop culture store not a gaming store. They also sell a lot of things from ThinkGeek as EBGames parent bought them out too.

    • Yeah same company. Same rewards program etc. Zing sells pop culture toys with a lot of the same things EB does along with a number of other things such as higher end statues etc.

Sometimes EB and Zing will occupy the same store front with an EB out front and a Zing at the back or whatever. Brisbane has one such store set up like that. The typical ones I've otherwise seen has EB and Zing in different shopfronts.

  • Not much there, but for anyone interested in getting into X-Wing: The Miniatures Games the base packs are going cheap, as are the plastic dial upgrade kits (which have zero effect on gameplay, they just let you upgrade your cardboard dials to one's housed in a plastic cover).

At that price I'd highly recommend picking up both base sets, which will give you a good amount of stuff to get started (not just miniatures, but also extra dice, templates, etc).
