  • $55 a month? or $55 a year? A month - that is more expensive than other.

    • $55 a year would be something to consider….

        55$ a year. I will move now.

  • It's 400 minutes to selected international numbers

  • expensive pay $50 for this from Telstra direct - easy to achieve over online chat

    • No you can't. This includes international calls to 50 countries. Telstra directly don't offer this.

    • online won't do this already spoke to everyone that works there how many times I called and did chat that offer is only for loyal customers re signing up

      • I may be wrong they have changed there prices since I looked last and they usually drop $10 for port in

  • +1

    No deal

  • 15GB has been ~30/mo on Optus, this is barely competitive these days.

    • You do realise this is Telstra network and not optus?

      • +1

Resold Telstra isn't the same… But even if it was directly Telstra, the two (in my experiences) are comparable these days beyond very remote travel routes (particularly outback routes), Telstra has better coverage along the way in more 'towns' / stops.

Worst case you can get a backup Telstra sim with the $300/year you save. Even on Telstra's own plans (overpriced) you can get 25GB for $150/year, saving you $150. Unless you need Telstra data for some reason, surely the $150 saving is a better option.

        • Yeah True, my Aldi "resold Telstra" was speed testing almost double my colleagues Actual Telstra sim last week (between 30 & 70 down rather than 17-40), when we did comparison tests…

        • @menvert:

You say "SIM" but I assume you didn't physically put his SIM in your device? The amounts sound like yours is simply using double the 4G channels, lol

        • @dyl:
Yeah, we didn't go to the trouble of swapping sims and my z play might have better supported lte standards than the sony z5 compact's LTE-A Cat6 (gsm areana doesn't really say what the Z play does & maybe it has more aerials)

        • @menvert:
Z Play is cat 7(300/150), same as cat 6 but with extra upload bandwidth (150mbps opposed to 50). I would assume your friends Z5 Compact is the cat4 model, judging by the results.

Either way, shows Telstra isn't ripping off their wholesale customers as much as they use to - not a bad result at all.

  • Can anyone confirm if there is a difference between the coverage Telstra offers to it's customers and the wholesale product they sell to Aldi? I.e. would I be getting the same service quality and coverage as a Telstra customer? is there a difference in the 4G/LTE speeds?

    • No difference inz speeds, but slight difference in extent of coverage.
